Not-so-Gentle Dental. Dr. Kelleher and his assistant (Laura?) in Stoughton are awful. After 4 fillings fell out within 1 month of having them done, I will never be back! After telling me that my fillings were falling out due to chewing (seriously.) Laura caused me so much pain, I was in tears before the dentist even saw me! I began seeing Dr. Farid at this office in December, 2010. I had 9 or 10 cavities that were filled between in Dec. 2010 and Jan. 2011. Within days and weeks, fillings began to fall out. Each time, I was forced to wait days, in substantial pain and unable to eat or drink anything that wasnt room temperature, as hot or cold caused shooting pain in the unfilled cavity, even breathing with my mouth open was agonizing, as the cold air hit my tooth. I had 3 fillings fall out before Jan. 11th, and was forced to make individual appointments and undergo additional injections and procedures to replace the fillings. Each time, I asked why the fillings were falling out, and no one would tell me. So, when my 4th filling fell out, on Saturday, February 26th, I was understandably upset, and once again, in pain. I contacted Gentle Dental on Monday, Feb. 28th to request an appointment, and left a voicemail. When no one returned my call, I called again on Tuesday and left a message. I was finally able to get an appointment with a different dentist, Dr. Kelleher, on Wed. March 2nd. Dr. Kellehers assistant (Laura or Linda?) showed me into the room, I explained that my filling had fallen out and showed her the tooth, she put her hands in my mouth (without asking!) then sprayed cold air directly onto the site, I believe to shut me up, since I was asking so many questions about why the filling kept falling out. Immediately, tears came to my eyes, I said "Ow, that hurts!" and jerked my head away. Dr. Kellehers assistant said, "Sorry, I didnt mean to spray directly on it" then FOLLOWED me with the instruments, and DID IT AGAIN. At this point I have tears streaming down my face, and I am angry and in a lot of pain (Which I stressed in my initial voice mails). She mumbles "sorry" again and flees! I wait, and compose myself, and finally the dentist, Dr. Kelleher, enters. He sits, and without introducing himself, says "So I see you had a filling fall out" and begins reclining the dental chair. I explain that its the 4th filling Ive lost and I "cant seem to get anyone to tell me why it keeps happening." He defensively said, "Well I cant tell you anything, I havent even looked in your mouth yet!" Then he says, "Lets do some Lidocaine so I can spray your teeth". I said, "I didnt think you needed lidocaine for that," while looking at the assistant. She crows, "You dont need to be rude, I said I was sorry!" Dr. Kelleher then said, "If youre going to be nasty you can go get this done somewhere else," and put down his tools. I said, "Fine, youre right" requested my records at the front desk and left. After I drove my car out of the parking lot, I began to have trouble breathing, and was forced to pull over while I suffered from my first panic attack in almost a year. I was treated and touched by the dental assistant without my consent. When I indicated I was in pain and pulled away, she FOLLOWED ME and caused more pain. The dental practice sees no problem with this, despite the fact that this NEVER happened when I saw Dr. Farid and her assistant (even though they werent filling my teeth properly). And in the many other appointments I had had at this office, EVERY TIME I said "ow" all work was stopped. This woman did not do that, and the dentist and his practice need to recognize that what she and they have done are wrong. Gentle Dental alleges that they specialize in people who are afraid of dentists - well I wasnt - until I went there.

Gentle Dental is the BEST dentist office I have been to. My children, parents, husband and I have been patients at the Gentle Dental Stoughton office for over thirteen years and have NEVER had a bad experience. Weve seen just about every dentist, hygienist and specialist there for one thing or another and I have nothing but praises for one and all! It is a pleasant expierence from the moment you enter the office. The front desk staff are always pleasant and greet me with a cheerful smile when I walk through the door. They are kind and helpful when trying to accommodate my crazy schedules for both me and my family. I have seen every hygienist there and love them all. They definitly put the gentle in Gentle Dental. My sons always gave me a bad time when going to the dentist but, since we started seeing the crew at Gentle Dental that all changed. They actually enjoy their cleanings and so do I. Dr. Kelleher is wonderful! My husband is having a new partial made and everything is going smoothly. He is very pleased with the doctor and his most competant assistants. Lisa, Sandra and Ana are amazing! it doesnt matter which one you get because they are all friendly and professional! My father saw Dr. Harrison for extractions and can I just say he was amazing. My dad is a huge dental phob and actually said the visit was great! Extractions and all! (Can I just saw WOW!) If you havent noticed- I am more than pleased with this office and would recommend them to one and all for any of your dental needs!

I rate it a 0 just because Dr. Joel H. Harrison, Oral Surgeon was terrible and did not know how to care for the patients, he was not sympathetic to my pain on 10/6/2015. I had a tooth that needed extraction and he totally ignored what I was trying to tell him and wanted to extract another tooth that was before the tooth I needed extracted. When I asked to spit he told me that I could not spit in his office and that I needed to swallow my spit. When he gave me anesthesia he was very rough with my mouth. He shook my mouth several times before anesthesia and mind you I was in pain. I ended up leaving that place and went to the previous dentist where I got the root canal, he then called an oral surgeon from another medical facility who did an emergency tooth extraction that same day. The dentist at Gentle Dental wanted to extract a tooth that was never a part of the Extraction. I will NEVER Go to Gentle Dentle again. They might be good but Dr. Harrison isnt. I am sure if someone had treated his family members in such a manner, he would be very angry.

I have been going to the Stoughton Gentle Dental office for over 10 years and they are by far, the best dental practice I have ever belonged to. The entire staff, from the front desk, to the hygienists, to the assistants and dentists themselves are amazing, such talented and kind people. My oldest daughter who does not live in the area recently went there after a bad experience at a dentist close to her apartment ( 60 miles away) and she was thrilled that her procedure was painless and quick. The entire procedure was over in a few minutes, and she is now pain free. The doctor even stayed late to accomodate her long commute. I recommend this office to anyone looking for a great dental staff!
