Id like to start off with the staff was kind and helpful, and in the event of an emergency this place IS the only option for the surrounding area. However, as others have mentioned, this place is trying to take advantage of the vulnerability of you wanting care for your animal. My cat had a common bacterial infection and they wanted to run a "baseline" of tests that were completely unnecessary and hold her for "one maybe two" nights. An estimate of $900-$1200 was set before me and i couldnt believe my eyes. Then the staff asked "well how much were you looking to spend?" to which i replied "i dont know" and again was promted "how much?". When they ask you this, theyre trying to find the threshold of your financial comfortability; to get as much money out of your pocket as they possibly can before you leave, without telling you the minimum FIRST. I made the mistake of saying "i thought it would cost no more than "x" amount of money," and low and behold the bill was right at that amount. I understand this is a business and theyre trying to make money, but beware of them "trying to provide the best care" for your animal, so just use your own best judgment and challege them. All you need is whats necessary. Though i was happy with the service, i was very dissapointed in the sheer lack of integrity they have when it comes to making their money.

Stay away arrived at 11:40 no one at the front desk one person waiting in the lobby carried our 90lb Doberman who couldnt walk and was having a hard time breathing vomiting not eating shaking only communication from the counter girl was who is his primary vet? No inspection of the dog no other questions. Next comes another dog with blood flowing out of its mouth all over floor and on front counter wall they take him to a holding room and after 10-15 minutes customer asks counter employee for some towels to cover up blood on the waiting room floor "Ill just mop it up" well another 20 minutes goes by blood still all over floor and lobby desk. I start searching for other options and my wife says cancel us were going somewhere else response "OK". I know very well that employees are the face of a company with the lack of compassion this staff has my suggestion I dont care how bad of an injury your pet has and how close this is drive faster and go somewhere else. Dog had GDV and had to be put down at Blue Pearl who walked around counter and checked his vitals and did an inspection to see if anything was needed right away before we even had our paper work finished.

Yesterday was my second time going to this emergency vet. The reason I went back is because they were so honest the first time. 3 vets near my home said my dog had obstruction and needed surgery. When I went to this vet she tried to talk me out of surgery because she had no reason to believe there was an obstruction. Being that 3 of 4 vets told me surgery was necessary I had my 12+ year old dog operated on. To our surprise this vet was right and my pooch didnt need surgery. So when she started vomiting again this weekend (4-5 months later) I took her right back. I love that they do not push for unnecessary procedures and that they are not just looking for money. This vet also stays under the quoted amount (at least both times for me). The vet local vet who was going to perform surgery quoted me at 5k-7500. Advanced Animal Emergency ended up costing $1800. My dog was already hooked to the Ivy and given meds from one of the other vets but it still would not have ran upwards of 5k. I truly grateful for this vet and I will continue to drive a hour for my animals emergencies. Thank you to the staff for always being o helpful and honest.

Would not recommend for emergency animal care. They seem more concern with money up front than helping animals. I know this is a place of business and they need money to keep the place open but they would not touch our pet who was attacked by pit bulls with out money up front. Once they determine the wounds they came out with a total price that I didnt have. They asked me how much did I have which was a 1/3 of the total. They went back to the doctor and came back with a lower price. I offered to make arrangements but they dont do that. I ended up paying more than half of the original price but my beloved pet did not received the service or treatment she should have. As a result she had to be put to sleep. Avoid this place if you have an emergency with your pet and find one that puts the health of your pet first.

Time and time again I have seen my friends and family that I recommend to Advanced Animal Emergency post such positive messages about their services they provided them and great customer service on their Facebook wall. They helped 2 of my brothers out through the whole process of letting a 4 legged family member go from beginning to end. As with any other business out there youll usually find reviews of bad experiences and very little of the positive. Dont let a couple of bad apples affect your furry families members care. They have become family to us and as a Pembroke Welsh Corgi Breeder we have frequented many animal hospitals. Make no mistake, take your pets here if you want the highest level of care with that personal touch.

Our little furry family has been patients here for over 4 years and we are beyond pleased with the service and care our cat & 6 dogs have received. Dr. Hynes, Dr. Lutz and especially Dr. Pasternak know our animals well and have saved the lives of our dogs Cody and Harvey when they were in very dire situations. Without your help we would have without a doubt lost Cody and Harvey. When Codys time came and his back pain was too much for him to bear, Dr. Pasternak was there, like always, to help us through it. Thank you to all the Vet Technicians and ladies whos service and care (at all hours of the night) has been greatly appreciated, both by our animals and by us. Thank you!

What an awesome team of emergency staff! My pet was in bad shape and there wasnt a ton of information that I could give. I called first to let them know i was pn my way and the information i did know. They were they were ready and waiting for my pet to arrive. They were not only fast but also so compassionate and did everything they could to not only make her comfortable but myself included. They are an educated set of staff members and were able to determine the issue and start her right away on a treatment plan. This is not the first time I have had a pets life saved from this staff. Thank you all from my whole heart.

They sure get carried away with testing to crank up the bill. Because I went at 7am the Veterinarian bill was $90.00 not $75.00 no where does it say the charge scale for the time you go, when I called about it I was told you signed for it as they are rattling off instruction and all I care about is my baby. $570.00 for over 2 hours 4 Previcids for $14.00 a lot of x-rays blood work shot anal glands emptied and they wanted to give him a IV for dehydration. Dont go here unless your animal is dying. I know they were covering all bases but come on. Wish I would have waited until tomorrow to take him to North Gratiot
