I called to ask if they would take me because I had an emergency because my dog had some hot spots & I had just discovered a lump on him this morning & the receptionist, Denise, said even if it was a prior emergency they would turn me away because there were no openings! Any vet that turns a sick animal away when its an emergency with or without an opening is a pathetic excuse to be opened for service. No one knows and expects their pets to be sick & if it just so happens unexpectedly & you happen to be the closest vet around & still are turning away sick pets then this is not a good place! I would advise other pet lovers to think twice before going to such a horrible place with no compassion! I will come here even it was a last resort because I feel like my dog is as good as dead even if I do so. I will be telling ALL my friends & family to avoid this place. This place is a pathetic excuse for a animal hospital & I hope they hire better people then someone who can calmly tell u that even if u come in with a sick dying pet they will still have to turn u away.

A couple years ago Sadie, my "Lil Girl" came into my life. I knew I would only be able to take care of her for her golden years. However, when the time came to send her to doggy heaven, I was absolutely overwhelmed and sad. The staff at VCA made me feel like Sadie and I were their only clients. They explained everything. They gave me a box of tissues to dry my many tears. They introduced me to Faithful Companions who treated her with dignity. Today I got a card from VCA that was signed by the staff. Although it has been six days the pain is not any better. Getting that card made me feel supported. Sadie was a shepard, lab, and chow mix. She was big. However, she was gentle and delicate. She was 15yrs and 8 months. I love her with every memory. VCA has been my biggest supporter. - Stephen Kowalski

My family visited the VCA Animal Hospital of Garden City to seek treatment for our 11 year old Yorkie. He had been suffering from a nugget-like growth around his anus for some time, and our first vet recommended surgery which would have cost over $800. A family friend suggested we get a second opinion, and so we saw Dr. Davis. He only needed to administer some antibiotics, which (thanks to an online coupon which made our first visit free) cost us only $55 total. 2 months later, the growth is gone and our Yorkie is all better! The experience was better for us and our dog, who didnt need to go through surgery. We would recommend the VCA to any of our friends!

Well the doctor at VCA Animal hospital told my mother that her dog had a tumor in its lung, but that his wife was a surgeon and she could remove it for just a few hundred dollars more. Well I had my mother take her dog to the Westland Humane Society, where they ran x-rays and showed them to my mother showing that her dogs lungs were perfectly clear. I think the Vets at VCA make things up and try and milk you out of money you dont need to spend. You might want to take your pet to the Westland Humane Society, where the Vets are professional and the prices are REAL!!!

Dr. Davis is the best veterinarian in the world! He is the only vet I would ever trust with my 5 dogs! I drive 30 minutes (one-way) just to see him! He is extremely knowledgeable and friendly - and funny! He always returns my phone calls promptly and always knows just how to explain everything so that we can understand perfectly! Dr. Davis is the real Dr. Doolittle! We all just love him! :D The staff at VCA garden city is awesome too! Theyre always so friendly and helpful! I cant say enough good things about Dr. Davis and the rest of the staff at VCA Garden City!

We love VCA. Our dog was hit by a car, and luckily, this place was right down the street from where it happened. I rushed him in there, hysterical, and Dr. Davis cleared everything and saved my dogs life. Not only did he save him, they treated my family and I so wonderful. I honesty cannot say enough good things about this place. They are caring, comforting, and professional people who are amazing at what they do. We have a vet for life. Thanks Dr. Davis and staff. :) If you are thinking about taking your pet here, dont hesitate.

The folks at VCA are always very helpful & explain everything. I am a super paranoid pet parent & they have talked me down from spending money on unnecessary tests. They have always gone out of their way to suggest less expensive alternatives. Dr.Davis is a sweetheart & is always interested in my pets & my family too. I love that he gets down on the floor with our Dog & includes my daughters in his explanations. Ive been bringing my furbaby Olive to him & his wonderful staff for her entire life. 12 years & counting!!

I have been taking my cats here for a couple years, and they have always gone above and beyond to make sure that my cats were well taken care of and got the care they needed. The whole staff cares and loves my cats as much as I do. I love the whole staff. My kitten, Meadow, was so sick when I got her there, and by the time I got her home she was already feeling better, and the vet was so informative and helpful. I would trust them always for all of my pets.

I went in today for my appointment at noon (mind you i had called the wrong vets office & made the appointment at a different location) the vca staff accommodated me immediately even though doctor dave had a surgery scheduled he took time to see me& my fur baby. We were in & out in less then 20minutes& the staff was so nice about my mistake & treated me as if i was family. I love the VCA & would recommend them to everyone. Thank you !!

Our vet wasnt open on Saturday and we had a minor emergency (blood in urine). We were recommend to come here. The female doctor had German Shepherds of her own and was extremely knowledgeable. Long story short we plan on taking our pup here from now on. They took us quickly and put our fears to rest. With a little bit of medication the very next day she is already back to her old self! Thanks!

I didnt know why they gave my kitten another physical exam which is 39 bucks for her second visit. She only needs her rabies shot and second vaccine to complete the series. I didnt ask them to do the physical exam but they said its mandatory every time you visit a vet for vaccines. And the point is they gave her the shots before the physical exam which to me doesnt make any sense.

I took my two Rescue kitties in for an eye infection. All three of us were very stressed out from the trip to the vet. The Doc was very patient and understanding on the treatment for Simon and Sebastian. He gave me a treatment option that was suited to the personalities of my pets and I felt very relieved. II was very pleased with our treatment from the very caring staff. Thanks!
