My close relative is a client and patient through Great Lakes Caring (GLC). In addition to that person I have another friend who is about to enter hospice. I called GLC asking for non emergent advice about this person (not their current client) and received a very a dismissive and condescending answer from the woman who was answering the phone for this company at 6:45PM ET 12/21/16. Perhaps a patient listen to my question in its entirety may have yielded a new customer for GLC. Alternatively a no (from GLC) after patiently listening to my problem may have produced acceptance on my side of the companys position. Unfortunately the dismissive and incomplete listening is not a first time experience with GLC. In contrast to their 1 800 number phone answering staff, their in person personal care team has been exceptional. So the entire company is not all bad.

Great Lakes Hospice has cared for my aunt in an assisted living facility since December 2016. Every single staff member and nurse we have encountered via both telephone and in person has been professional, courteous, kind and patient. Any time we had a question their response time has been fantastic. In particular the nurse Connie went above and beyond, often responding to my emails late at night or on the weekend but most important, my aunt really likes her. Thank you for making a difference in lives every day.

They sent our welcome packet (which had no usable information) POSTAGE DUE....if they are cutting on postage, where else are they cutting???
