Worst vet experience Ive ever had. I took my kitten in to get tested because we knew he had worms. I told the vet he had tape worms, but the vet acted like we were idiots and spoke down to us. The test came back and they told us he had round worms. Then proceeded to tell us horror stories about how contagious round worm is for humans, all of which were untrue. Three weeks later we came back because the worms still hadnt gone away. They gave us more de-wormer without even looking at the cat. This went on for two months and the worms still didnt go away. We later learned at a different vet that the cat had tape worms and needed a different type of medication. They also gave us medication for an upper resp infection without even taking the cats temp or listening to breathing. None of the problems we went there to treat ever fully went away causing us to have to return over and over. We tried to have all of our cats retested for worms to find out why they hadnt gone away and they argued about it, trying to talk us out of it instead of just doing what we asked. When we questioned why the worms werent gone they just said over and over "sometimes it can take multiple treatments" even though a different vet said it should be a quick fix. 200 dollars on visits and meds the cat didnt even need. Not to mention the waiting times are just terrible. I was sitting in the office waiting for the vet to see us for over two hours after our appointment time just so we could pick up meds. Just awful. Ill never go back.

The female vet has no compassion, no experience and no education. I took my dog in because she wasnt eating and just wasnt herself. The male vet assist was great. When we got called back to the room the female vet asked me to put my dog on the exam table. She asked me questions, but never touched my dog. She said an xray was needed. The xray didnt show anything was blocking but she said i needed to pay another $400 for some dye and another xray. She said my dog was in pain and miserable and my only options were to pay $1500 for an exploratory surgery to remove something soft that was blocking her intestines, or to put her down. She told me i had to come up with all the money today because she was going on vacation and the other vet didnt do surgeries and she wouldnt offer any type of payment plan. Well i refused to put my dog down and left. I found another vet an hour away from my house that would take a payment plan and it turned out my dog didnt even need surgery, nothing was blocked and the extra $400 xray wasnt even needed. My dog was just a little dehydrated and had an upset tummy from getting into a little bit of garbage, the conditiin is called garbage gut. The vet at westland animal hospital didnt even say garbage gut was a possibility and just wanted extra money for her vacation and was willing to let me think my dog was suffering enough to put her down when that was far from the truth. If you love your fur babies, DO NOT take them to this place.

My cat had been sick for several weeks, not eating and was just not himself. I took him to the this particular hospital several times and I just felt like they kept taking my money for nothing. Finally the vet said that we had to do an exploratory search. I was charged $540 for that even after I had xrays taken which already confirmed there was a mass inside him. During the exploratory surgery the staff called me while in the Middle of the surgery asking me if I wanted the mass cut out and that if I did that would be an additional $800. Of course I agreed to it since they are in the middle of the surgery anyway. Within an hour or 2 I get a call from them saying that my cat was not doing to well. Since he was not doing to well they then asked me if I would like to put him to sleep. I could not agree to that and I wanted to see him. By time I got to the hospital they told me they had put him down. When I asked the staff what happened I got different stories about what time they had put him down. Now I do not know if they actually put the cat down or if he just died. The vet did not have the decency to wait for me to say my goodbyes, all this while saying that they had put him down without my permission. Then they charged me an extra $60 for putting him down. I mean that was a smack in the face. I paid 1300 to have my cat die and then another $60. I do not recommend you take your pet to these people if you are looking for care with compassion.

This place is TERRIBLE. Took my rott in because she collapsed and couldnt walk. They examined her and determined due to her age that the best avenue was to put her down. The vet and the entire staff was HORRIBLE. They were cold and uncaring. The vet insisted on sedating her and doing a second exam even though we said no. After that they begun the process of putting her down. They started the process and insisted we go pay the 500.00 before they would finish. After that they couldnt find a vein to finish the process. They terrorized my whole family and dying dog. They tried for an hour to get a vein and finally said they were going to inject her in the heart but told us we had to leave the room. We had to go stand out in the waiting room with all of the other animals and pet owners. About 20 minutes later they called us back in and left us alone in the room with her. She was bleeding from her mouth. Blood was just dripping from it. They didnt clean it or her up before letting us back in to see her and I have NO IDEA what they ended up doing to my poor sweet girl. If this review stops one person from taking their animal there Ill be happy. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE do not take your pets there. PLEASE.

We took our dog in because he had a little bump between his toes on his back paw that was irritated and he had been chewing on it. The vets quick (first step) response was to tell us that two of his toes needed to be removed to take care of this bump. I was in shock that the solution would be this extreme. He didnt offer any insight as to what this bump may be but told us he could biopsy it after it was removed if we wanted to pay extra. Then he left the room and was unavailable for further questions while I applied for the Care Credit as payment. Needless to say we took our dog for a second opinion to a different vet whos first step was to biopsy the bump and find that it was just bacteria. The solution was a cream and a pill twice a day (not to mention this solution was about $800 cheaper). I really try to be fair when I leave reviews like this but the only word that comes to mind when I think about what this vet wanted to do to our dog is butcher. The only reason I can think of that this extreme measure would have been taken is so he could make more money off of us. We will never be back. This man should find another line of work if he is that detached from the welfare of family pets.
