REVISED REVIEW SEPT 2015: I had previously indicated that I had a great experience, which technically I did after the 1st few visits. I cant say I was unhappy with the outcome of the work I received. What I was very concerned with was the way I heard Dr Hatcher speak with his staff. Each time I was there I heard him have what seemed like an outburst with a staff person in another room. I thought nothing of it. Then I heard it again the next time I was in, then again the next time. He was very rude in the way he would speak with them. Then he would walk back in and sit down with me and be pleasant. I was on the fence about going back and what ultimately was the deciding factor for me to call it quits with his office was when I was talking with a friend who said he went to the same dentist but was looking for a new one. I asked him why and he said he would hear the Dr yell at his staff. I realized it wasnt just me catching him on a "bad day". Then I saw other reviews here indicating the same thing. Very concerning and I feel very bad for his staff. ORIGINAL REVIEW NOV 2014: My wife & I were looking for holistic dentistry and came across Cedar Cliff, they are close to our office so we gave them a shot. I was very impressed by their practice. They seem very efficient, great communication and most of all I really appreciated the level of detail they went into with me explaining what they were doing and why they do what they do. I have been to the dentist MANY times and I am familiar with how they do things but never knew the background of why. Information that was very useful to know and it made me feel informed. It was also great to understand how holistic is different than standard practices. So far I have made 3 visits. 1st was the initial new patient consult which was great. It seemed that they have very new technology, at least from what I am used to. The 2nd was a cleaning which was good and the 3rd was to get some dental work. Consistent experience in all 3. They also accept Care Credit which is helpful since I am a cash payor. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a good dentist.

I’ve been a patient of Dr. Hatcher’s for 25 years. He is competent, professional, and highly experienced. In addition to the usual routine fillings and cleanings, I have had CEREC inserts and Invisalign, and I’ve had good results with both. I want to talk here specifically about Invisalign. For most of my life I had been reluctant to smile due to one of my upper front teeth being pushed far back—so far that unless you looked closely it almost seemed I was missing a tooth. The gum in this area was tender and overgrown as well. Perhaps 20 years ago I consulted an orthodontist about getting braces, but after being told he’d have to pull several perfectly good teeth, I just couldn’t see going that route. When Invisalign came along it was the answer to my prayers. At age 51 I took the plunge and am so happy I did. In addition to fixing the recessed tooth, all my other slightly-crooked teeth now look great. My gums are healthy, and I smile at every opportunity! The icing on the cake is that I am 30 pounds lighter because its inconvenient to snack with Invisalign. * For those wondering what its like to go through the process, heres my frank assessment: The first day I wondered what I had gotten myself into; I just wanted to get all this stuff OUT of my mouth--it wasnt really painful, just uncomfortable and tight. My speech was a bit slurred, and even with the aligners out, chewing was difficult due to the presence of attachments on some of my teeth (I bit my lower lip more times than I can count). By the end of the first week I was tolerating the aligners, but just barely. After a month I was in much better shape, and by month three I felt I could wear them forever. At that point the only issue was keeping the aligners clean (hint: very dilute bleach). Once you start to see results (and, if you are lucky, some weight loss), your motivation will increase. I certainly have no regrets and would do it again. I am, in so many ways, a new person as a result of Invisalign.

i discovered Cedar Cliff Dental while searching for dentists that specialize in safe metal amalgam filling removal. About 2 years ago, a couple of my metal fillings cracked and pieces broke off and - nearly simultaneously - I began experiencing some serious (and mysterious) health problems. After a year of going to various specialists with no leads on a cause, I came across an article about the potential for old metal fillings to release mercury into the body. I’m a natural skeptic and the dental community is divided over whether this is possible, so I had a blood test which determined that I did indeed have unusually high levels of mercury in my blood. My doctor agreed that my old fillings could be the cause, so I went looking for how to have them removed safely. Although the dental world doesn’t acknowledge the potential dangers of these fillings, the Cedar Cliff staff never made me feel like I was crazy. They simply supported my decision to have them replaced and to do it in a safe way. They did fantastic work, replacing a lot - and I mean a lot - of metal fillings with porcelain ones that look better and feel stronger. Deb and Dr. Hatcher were informative and entertaining throughout the process. And I’ve already started feeling better since the work was completed. I highly recommended this crew.

I really like that this is a holistic dentist and agree with the philosophy of care. The only drawback to me was that the type of digital photos and x-rays they take (while healthier than traditional options) caused more than the regular discomfort with a tinge of pain. At one point a piece of equipment was pressing so hard into my lower inside jaw I actually shed a few tears (not that I like to admit that because it has never happened at any dentist before, and Ive had braces, appliances, etc through traditional dentists). I had told the hygenist it was REALLY digging in below my gumline and she was sympathetic, but she just said, "Yeah, Im sorry its not comfortable, thats just the way it is, itll only take a second." I understand its her job, but seeing if it couldve been moved would have been a nice effort. Thankfully, there was an indent in my gums but it did not cut into me, although it sure felt like it had. Other than that, the visit went well and the cleaning was gentle but thorough.

I had several bad cavities that I needed to get filled. I kept putting it off because I hate going to the dentist and dealing with the discomfort of getting a filling. Someone mentioned to me to go see Dr. Hatcher and I am very happy I did. His entire office utilizes the best technology I have ever seen in a dental office. After my appointment it made my fear of discomfort completely disappear. I felt no pain, no discomfort and left feeling fresh and as if I never had any dental work done at all. In todays day and age its no question that going to the dentist doesnt need to be an un-comfortable experience. I strongly recommend visiting Dr. Hatcher at Cedar Cliff Dental so you can see for yourself how a sophisticated Dental Office is the only place you should ever get your dental work done! Update.. another awesome visit with Dr Collin Hatcher! I dont know of any other dentist in the city of Eagan that I would ever consider for my dental needs. Thanks again everyone at Cedar Cliff!
