I am giving this place two starts because the front desk person and tech were very nice but otherwise this was not a good experience. Two years ago I took my cat in because I lived close. After a gloom and doom assessment during an exam it turned out nothing was wrong with my cat, except some dental work needed. However the doctor was incredibly vague on what that dental work would be or the cost. Fast forwarded to this year. I moved back to the Twin Cities and since I was familiar with the location we decided to take our new (and first time) puppy to Metro Pet. The surgeon that looked at my dog was great, calm and informative. Our puppy was experience urinary complications and we were clearly panicked as new dog owners. When taking our puppy back for a check up, she was still showing symptoms, the regular doctor did not have the same beside manner. It was back to the gloom and doom report, and though her assessment of the situation was correct, the manner in which we were told was so frightening and upsetting that it made going through an Ectopic Ureter situation needlessly upsetting. We also had to request that the doctor check for infection in a UA, which turns out after taking her to another vet, she did have an infection. Now insult to injury, we have left vets and we had to request our medical records more than three times before they were finally emailed to us. This impacted when we could finish vaccinating our puppy. Not having those medical records also affected how we dealt with our pets insurance company because they could not process any claims without those records. I believe that the doctors and staff know what they are doing but the beside manner and promptness of information was just awful. It was such a negative experience that I sat on my free time and wrote a multi-paragraph review. I understand and appreciate being told what is wrong with my pet, but having some empathy to the pet owner would have been much appreciated.

As someone who has worked with animals for the last 15 years, I am extremely picky about how vets and vet office staff interact with my animals. Dr. Kristen truly understands animal behavior and has always interacted with my pets in a calm and respectful way. I send all of my dog training clients to Metro Pet - especially my reactive and fearful dog clients. I have 100% confidence in their ability to interact with scared pets safely and help them learn not to be afraid. I just lost my beloved dog to cancer, and the staff was so supportive and made my weekly vet visits quick and easy. They went above and beyond when I had to make the impossible decision to help my dog pass, and I will forever be grateful. Go here! You wont regret it!

I only wanted to give them a half star. Maybe they do good work but i will never attend one of the clinics run by them. It is suppose to be first come first served and is not I tend to believe that the place they are running these at does friends and family you can watch the line behind you get shorter as you just keep waiting, If you value your time it is worth the small amount extra to go to the vet in office many of them will now give shots with out an exam if you ask. Time is money too and their prices are not that good.

We absolutely love Metro Pets! They answer all of our questions. When my dog has been sick and Ive taken her in, Metro Pets always calls the next day to follow up. You can tell how much all of the staff cares about the well-being of the animals. I would HIGHLY recommend them!

These guys are great. Clearly concerned about our pets health and also conscientious of costs. They also are very good about getting your animals in on short notice if needed. My wife and I had some sick kittens and they really helped us out with them.
