To sum it up: I love this place! Ive been a dog owner for years and when I moved to the Twin Cities I was recommended to check out Westgate Pet Clinic. Ive been bring my dogs there for four years now! Our vet really knows the dogs, the other staff recognizes them by name (including days we dont have an appointment!) and I love that you can talk to a Vet Tech or Vet on the phone if you have any questions or concerns. These guys and gals really know their stuff and they want what is best for your pets. Ive always felt that they will work with you on deciding the best treatment plans and are actually willing to listen to you. They encourage questions and happily sit down and show you things in books, handouts, etc. They few times I have had immediate problems with my dogs they have fit me in right away. The only downside I can think of is how far away the clinic is from me after I moved out of Minneapolis. It is not easily accessible from any major highway, and the few that run close are always backed up with traffic. Otherwise, it is the perfect place to bring your pets to keep them safe, happy and healthy!

We have been taking our dogs to Dr Melin at Westgate for over 10 years. The staff is friendly, courteous, and fantastic. They take the time to explain even the smallest details of the care, and answer the most trivial questions about heartworm & flea and tick preventative options without making you feel like they are rushing from patient to patient. We have had to go through the loss of a pet (due to cancer) with them, and believe me, you want a really good vet and staff for this process. These guys are compassionate and professional, and when it was "time," I unfortunately had a melt down as I walked into the waiting room. They quickly got my sick pooch and I into a waiting area, and let us take as long as we needed. They were absolutely wonderful. They have been taking care of our two dogs for the last 7 years, and cannot say enough positive things about them. If your pets are like family members, and you expect a high level of care, go to Westgate.

Ive been taking my cats to Dr. Downy & Dr. Perry for years here. Im the pain in the ass patient who needs an itemized receipt to review cost *every* visit before the procedures are done, & they are more than happy to do this. Very nice that they have private cat rooms, & pheromone diffusers. My cats eventually chill out nicely. The payment plan has allowed us to get the care we needed. Dr. Perry in particular has treated my cat family with great sensitivity, but is also a practical person, who can empathize & recommend a plan of action that suits you. My cats have been through Ultrasounds for a heart murmur, dental surgeries, & biopsies for possible cancerous growth at this clinic, & each time something that started out difficult became doable, thanks to the professionalism exhibited at Westgate. Im forever grateful.

I have found that Westgate always encourages unncecessary testing which costs way more than it needs to and does not yield additional information. Recently I spent over $1,400 on a series of tests because my dog is excessively thirsty and since they have no conclusion they are recommending $600 more. They have repeated the urinalysis test three times saying it could have been contaminated (they asked me to collect the sample in a container they issued me). Why did they have me pay for a test they would consider invalid because it was home-collected?? I am switching to Uptown Vet.

We moved from WI about a month ago, so we had to switch vets. We LOVED our vet where we were and were skeptical to try to find another good one up here. Our pup has been here 2x now for checkups/vaccinations and we have nothing but good things to say! They treat the animals like family and do what they can to make the animals comfortable during shots/checkups, whatever it may be. They are a little pricey, hence the 4 stars but they are worth it for the extra care they give. We wont be bringing our pup anywhere else as long as we live close.

My husband is in the military and this is the 4th vet that my dog has been to. The staff and veterinarians are knowledgeable and very helpful. I am leaving the country and the vet tech, Ann Marie, spent over an hour with me going over the paperwork - all free of charge! I love this office and Im sad I have to move away from this wonderful clinic!

I would follow Dr. Hageman to the moon. She is the MacGyver and Harry Potter of veterinary medicine. She digs and asks all the right and complex questions and then "waves her wand" and says, "REPAIRO!" POOF! Diagnosed and treated and dont even get me started on her keen "remembory." One could not be in better hands. The staff is exceptional!

I LOVE this place. Dr Hershey is my favorite, she has taken care of my cats for 10+ years. My one year old cat, Sven, is very sick right now and she spent almost an hour with us to thoroughly check him out. I wouldnt consider going anyplace else

Everyone here is very friendly and nice. You dont hear animals in other rooms, and they have designated cat and dog area. My dog never fears vet visits here! We have moved out of state and I am very sad to be looking for a new clinic.

Dr. Hershey is amazing! She provided acupuncture work on my service dog and it has really made a great improvement. All the staff are friendly and the place is always clean when I am there.

Westgate is a clean and efficient office. I have brought my Vizsla here for three years and they have always been quick to set and keep appointments. I would recommend them to any dog owner.
