Dr. Allphin killed our $30,000 Bomb/Service Dog. My husband is a dog trainer from Florida with over 200 dogs in law enforcement around the country at one time or the other. Read this if you want to keep your pet alive. Allphin misdiagnosed 2 of my service dogs for 5 years. NEVER performed the #1 recommended blood test for any dog ( Google it…FBC) This is a Full Blood Count blood test that determines the heath of all vital organs. Had they done the FBC, cirrhosis of the liver would have been discovered years ago and we’d had time for treatment that would have cured the ingestion of a toxin by the dog issue which was destroying his liver. I got hefty bills each year for both of my service dogs. Assuming Dr. Allphin was competent I was too stupid to ask about the FBC and assumed the blood tests on these whopping bills covered everything that was helpful of the dog. Wrong. I takes 4 to 5 years for the liver to shrink to the level of 40% capacity. The dog at this point terns yellow (Jaundiced) and without notice drops dead within a week to 10 days Labs just run till they run out of energy, they don’t exhibit anything unusual until those final days By then it’s too late. Jazz, The Chocolate retired Bomb/Rescue dog, died at 8 years old of cirrhosis of the liver 2 weeks after his "Annual Physical" with Dr. Allphin. He never demanded to take action at the first notice of the problem ”Let give it a coule weeks, heres some pills.” Was his answer. The dog died before he could get thru the next 10 days, In fact died at Allphins“Hospital” He could have easily saved this dog who had 122 lives saved under his collar. Dr Allphin is to inept or under trained to know to take this “snap shot in time” to secure accurate healthcare readings of any of the animals he works with in the beginning of every “new” Patient…by the way that’s his own admission, he doesn’t do it unless asked! REALLY? YOU’RE THE VET ALLPHINE !!! The animal’s heath is your job! Clearly he doesn’t know better. Looking back at the bills, and services rendered, the only blood tests were for Parvo and heartworms something he can sell you treatment for over the counter. During another incident Dr Allchin’s group had to pay for the amputation of one of my dogs tails for their young female vet’s admitted incompetence. After speaking with other Medical Doctors, friends, and literally dozens of medical retail professionals in this area, they all had similar stories and referred me To Dr. Molly Sheppard at the Nixa Animal Hospital who is much more trained in the diagnostic areas. I took my remaining Service Dog right away to Dr. Molly Sheppard, it was a 20 minute drive and experienced the most complete diagnostics, personal attention, and physical evaluation imaginable, things that Dr.Allhpin had not picked up on for the last 5 years…by the way Nixa Animal Hospital was half the cost of Allphin, they gave me a written and verbal run down of all the tests, and followed up 48 hours later on the phone to make sure everything was going fine. Dr. Allphin will kill your animal if you don’t remember the right questions to ask him. Nixa Animal Hospital will TELL you what you need to know. Everyday local people drive past Allphins thinking "Whos Gonna Die Today" This is no SourGrapes review. As an ex-CEO of companies not related to dog training, I have spoken to a lot of community leaders.Allphn is considered incompetent. And had my Bomb dog not been cremated in my hour of sorry, the autopsy would have clearly showed your poor performance in court, You owe me $30,000 and the lite of my life. How many more lives would Jazz have saved after you cut him short at 122? This is the worst clinic I have ever been to. I trusted them to spay my cat and take care of her for the 4 days we left her there. My mom went to pick her up on Friday to find her smelling horrible to which you would have been able to notice the minute you put her in her carrier... My mom also asked for a shot for pain before the cat left so she would be comfortable even though yes she had gotten Onsior. Everyone kept telling her she got it, she got it. I read the bill and there was no pain medication except for the day she was spayed. She stayed at that clinic for 4 days. Next no technician gave her discharge instructions. So we called back to the clinic asking if she had gotten any pain medication that day. No one was able to tell us if she did, which should never happen with a surgery patient. I do not expect a vet to give discharge instructions, as in all the clinics I have ever worked at its always been us technicians. So she took her home and she had bloody diarrhea near her rear with a huge knot on her hip. Called the clinic and they said it was probably just a reaction from the vaccines. Monday came and she could not move, couldnt hold her head up and wouldnt eat. So we took her into the clinic that day and they ran yet another $153 worth of tests just to say I dont know what your problem is. So they drew blood and had a red blood cell count of 10. Normal is 20-40. My parents should not have had to force feed the cat and force feed medicine because the veterinary practice was lax in their monitoring and diagnosing. I WOULD NEVER TAKE ANOTHER PET THERE AND I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND YOU DOING IT EITHER. We also took our Rottweiler in for vaccines just to find out they forgot vaccines for him in when they left. I was not down there as I live in Kansas city but he is my dog. I have worked for veterinary clinics for 8 years. Never have I experienced the kind of attitudes that I had with this one. Everyone I talked to when I called the clinic acted as if I was annoying them and I wasnt worth their time. Well Im sorry I wasnt worth your time while my cat was dying. So a huge thank you Allphin Veterinary Clinic you killed a 2 year old cat with a spay. NEVER go there. Along with us going to get an necropsy from another vet clinic in the region but they are all to scared to give another clinic a bad name.

I practiced small animal veterinary medicine and surgery for 21 years in another state. Last year I retired and moved to Branson West, Mo and began the search for a quality veterinarian for my own pets. I always gave high quality, compassionate veterinary care to my patients and that is what I want for my own pets. Having been in the profession for many years, I know that not all veterinary clinics practice with high standards. I have been very impressed with the veterinary care offered at Allphin Veterinary Clinic. The veterinarians and staff are knowledgeable, friendly and gentle with their patients. They strive to offer high quality veterinary medicine and surgery. They offer bloodword, iv fluids, pain medications, anesthesia monitors and other services to help keep our pets safe and comfortable during and after surgery. I know the importance of these services and I would not take my own pet to a veterinary clinic that did not recommend and offer them. Dr. Allphin always takes the time to talk to his clients and answer any questions they may have, just like I did in my practice. I have been very pleased with Dr. Allphin and the staff at Allphin Veterinary Clinic. I highly recommend this veterinary clinic.
