We have been taking our two dogs to Antioch Dog & Cat Hospital for the last 7 years and could not be happier. Our pups are like children to us and its very hard to find someone you trust to take care of your family. Our main vet is Dr. Carr who I cannot say enough good things about. You can tell she truly cares for her patients. She always takes plenty of time to discuss any issues and answer any questions we may have. We have also seen Dr. Ballenger and Dr. Hodgson and have had nothing but positive experiences with both. The entire staff at the office has always been fantastic to us. This level of trust and confidence we have in everyone at Antioch Dog & Cat is incredible and I would highly recommend to anyone for this very reason. In addition though, prices are competitive to other offices in the KC area and we have never felt like we were being pushed into spending more money than we needed to be. We are so lucky to have found such a wonderful place to take care of our dogs!

First of all, like so many others in the business, this place is money hungry above everything else, so they will push all kinds of unnecessary tests on you and make you feel like a bad pet owner if you dont go along with their plan. Our new cat was being bullied by one of our other cats and we asked what we could do about it. The vet really had no good ideas and said we may just have to get rid of the new cat. Really? Thats your advice? When we had to put our other cat down, we were absolutely devastated, and even more so when we were told how much it would cost us. All these months later we are still paying on that bill. Every time we have to take our pets there we can never walk out for less than a $300 charge no matter what we go there for. The older man vet doesnt even seem to care much about animals - dont even know why he is in this business.

My oldest recently had a health challenge that scared the hair right off of my hairline. I had no money and my 12 year old was failing fast. It was Christmas Eve and they were only open til noon. The clock said 11:20 something. I was in tears when the voice asked, "may I help you?" I told her what was wrong and asked if they could see her and allow me to write a post dated check. This would be her third visit to this office and the only vet I knew to call. The voice was sincerely concerned and allowed me to bring her in immediately. Long story short, she is eatting, barking and going up and down the stairs. In this day and age it is especially heart warming to witness the kindness of strangers and those we interact with daily. I truly love them and so appreciate the life saving measures they took for my oldest. Thank you. ♡♡♡

TERRIBLE ...was prescribed meds and given improper instruction because the label was mis labeled and then when i went back to tell them that they not only did not give me enough of the meds but the label was clearly mislabeled and because of the mislabel the animal was not given the proper amount and therefore not treated properly.and when i went back Dr. Carr looked for every excuse not to give me more meds. and it was clearly a mis label and i even showed her this. and she still refused to do anything and then even said i cussed at her staff on the phone which i did not. i was more than patient with them and now they will hear from my attourney and they will lose my business. this place is terrible .

I started taking my two dogs and cats there about two years ago -- just because they were close to home and I needed a new vet, so I knew I was taking a chance. Turned out to be the best decision I could have made for my fur children. Each time I have gone it has been a positive experience, whether it was for my Rudy who was sick and passed away to the others who are healthy and hopefully with me for yet a very long time. I referred my sister there and they took real good care of her 110 lb dog, Buddy -- she was also extremely well impressed with them, said they handled him with kid gloves. Dr Hodgins is my favorite, but the others I have seen there are great, too. I cant imagine having to look for another Vet again!

I have been going to Antioch Dog and Cat Hospital since 2008 and I have always been very satisfied. They take very good care of my 2 dogs and my cat. If one of my pets is sick, they can work me in somehow on the same day and that is very important to me. I like the vets a lot - I mostly see Dr. Carr, but I have seen Dr. Hodgson and Dr. Ballenger too. My dogs have needed surgery and a teeth cleaning and I was impressed how thorough they were and I felt confident that everything would be okay. This may not seem like a big deal to some people, but I also really like that the office is clean and the staff are friendly.

Our family has been going to Antioch Dog & Cat Hospital for many years (2008) and are very appreciative for all the services they provide. The doctors and staff are all very caring and we have never considered taking our four legged children anywhere else. Recently, I have moved and could not locate a veterinary practice that I felt comfortable with. They did not know our history. Dr. Hodgson made a house call to do their annual check ups. We were all very satisfied and grateful to know the best care is always available at Antioch Dog & Cat.

I called before close on a Friday and was able to make an appointment for first thing Saturday morning. The staff was friendly and treatment was prompt and effective. They called twice within the first week after the visit to follow up and make sure our kitty was feeling better, that the infection was gone, and everything healing as expected. We will be returning in the future for regular checkups, vaccinations, and any other health concerns we may have with our pets. As a bonus, they accept our care credit.

Even though our pet cat did not survive her illness, the staff was exceptionally accommodating, knowledgable and gave us reasonable expectations of survival. I feel they outlined all possible treatment options, and they helped us to decide the best possible game plan to attempt to turn our cat around, and meet our financial needs and the demeanor of our cat. Additionally, they took the time out of their day to send a card when she passed, which was very thoughtful. I highly recommend Antioch Dog & Cat Hospital.

I have taken 2 fur babies to Antioch Dog & Cat over the past several years and they have always been helpful, professional and I can tell they care about my baby as much as I do. I go every 6 months and can walk in and get heart-worm medication as an extremely reasonable price! I never have an issue getting appointments and I dont find they try to "sell" me on extra services. They have a great staff and I have and will continue to recommend them to folks looking for a vet.
