We had the unfortunate experience of having to make the decision to have a beloved pet put down. Dr. Matt came out to see our dog who just wasnt acting quite right this past Monday. By Wednesday, we were researching everything we could on canine lymphoma, as our Sunny was diagnosed as having an aggressive form of this. Dr. Matt was empathetic and knowledgeable, laying out our options and emailing contact information for specialists that could possibly help. He made sure Sunnys records were transferred for review by the specialists and encouraged us to schedule an appointment asap due to the rapid progression of the disease. He responded to my many questions completely and in a timely manner. We ultimately decided not to go through with the consult and to allow our beloved Sunny to have a peaceful and loving end of his life with lots of treats and surrounded by favorite friends and family. We contacted the HousePaws staff on Friday to have them come out as soon as possible over the weekend, and they were able to accommodate our request with an appointment on Saturday. We were able to give Sunny "the best day ever," with all of his favorite people pampering him with yummy treats and constant love. Dr. Lauren Silvesti and her assistant Nancy arrived right on time. They were kind and compassionate throughout the entire appointment, giving us plenty of time to say our goodbyes and speak our final words of love to our dog. Dr. Lauren explained the procedure in detail so we knew what to expect at every stage. While we were consumed with grief over our impending loss, Dr. Lauren and Nancy were so gentle and kind with us and with Sunny. Dr. Lauren even took a picture of our family with Sunny before the procedure! We had a bit of a crowd over for Sunnys best day ever party and we all were so impressed with Dr. Lauren and Nancys professionalism, compassion and kindness during a truly difficult time. A friend in attendance today who has loved and lost many pets said that when the time comes for her current pets to cross the Rainbow Bridge, she will be using HousePaws to ease the journey. Thank you, Dr. Matt for your thorough assessment of Sunny this past Monday and for putting my mind at ease with answers to my questions. Dr. Lauren and Nancy, thank you for your genuine patience and kindness during Sunnys passing today. We would recommend HousePaws to any of our fellow pet owners for care of their beloved pets.

I left my last vet in Mt Airy after almost 20 years when my Schnauzer was diagnosed with Lymphoma. The last vet (which I wont name here) would not call me back to advise on treatment after 3 attempts. In desperation I found House Paws which is almost an hour away from my home but well worth the trip. I would leave a message for my last vet and (if he got around to it) would return my call when he was in the office which was only twice a week. When he returned the message it was to call him back. There was no original questions ever relayed to him and the vicious phone tag would begin again. Not the case with House Paws. They communicate through email and phone whenever it is necessary not just when they are in the office. They will tell it like it is - good and Bad - and let you decide. I took all three of my dogs there for a quick once over since I was switching over to them and Im glad I did. I had taken them to my previous vet 3 months before for everything from senior blood work to dentals. At house Paws just 3 months later for this introductory exam I found that my terrier was in severe congestive heart failure. The swishing noises in his chest were apparent to me once pointed out but my last vet never mentioned anything more than his usual heart murmur. House Paws has keeps me informed about my pets health, needs and well being before during and after visits to them. There is nothing like a veterinarian that really cares about the animals and I would drive as far as necessary to get this sort of love for my furry ones.

This past November, we were faced with having to put our beloved family dog down and when I called our vets office and found out our usual vet wasnt in that day, we couldnt bear to take her out into the cold and yet we didnt want her to suffer. I suddenly remembered our neighbors had used a mobile vet service, so I went online and looked up a few. I called two and chose House Paws based on the extraordinary sensitivity the office staff showed as well as their willingness to come to our home that same day. Dr. Lisa and the vet tech were so kind and patient as we struggled with saying goodbye to our little Lucy. As painful as this process was (as anyone with pets knows), I must tell you that this was unlike any other experience Ive had with letting a pet go. My husband and my son all agreed that if a moment like that could be made beautiful, the staff at HousePaws accomplished it. This past week, I called on them again to check up on our kitty and once again, I was so impressed by every staff member from the girl who answered the phone to Dr. Joyce and the vet tech. They came out despite the recent snowfall and we had bloodwork results back the following day. And they handled our feisty little kitty so well, so her stress was minimized without having to make that trip in the car. I have consistently received the most kind and caring service from each and every person connected with HousePaws and highly recommend them! I cant say enough about this fine group.

Excellent vets, my cat is terrified of vet offices, so their homevisits are worth the money. Shots, physical exam, teeth checkup, even take samples for tests for parasites, they cant do surgery from the van as far as i know, thats ok. My scaredycat is large and a handful, so this firm sent a vet AND a vet tech over in their mobile van to handle tough cases. Complete with heavy gloves. Boy theyd better bring the gloves, my feline is a buzzbomb. You get a complete verbal and written review of your pets condition, problems, future needs. The vet visits are fast. If you have special case pet like me, tell them when you make an appointment, they will respond. Two reasons why they dont get a grade 5: First: my cats for years always got a Three Year Rabies shot, a product available to vets, no booster needed, the product lasts for 3 years. My township has been ok with that too, explain the 3 year shot when you renew the pets license. This firm does not approve of or offer 3 year rabies shots. Id like them to reconsider that. Second: they have arrived late sometimes, i mean an hour late. They have to invest in a mobile GPS device. I dont know if they did that. All things considered, they do a good job, and are recommended.

What a WONDERFUL group of people!! It was fate that I found them when I did. My cat was in distress, and I called them around 11am.. and it just so happened they were in my area early that afternoon. When Dr. Woods and Lizzy arrived (after calling me to let me know they had had an emergency and would be about 1/2 late - SO NICE!), I instantly felt like my best girlfriends dropped by full of emotional support. They made a very BAD situation bearable for both me and my beloved cat, Bomber. How wonderful that I didnt have to transport him somewhere (they said he probably wouldnt have survived the trip) and that he could be put to sleep comfortably in his own surroundings. I have even received a condolence card with a handwritten personal message from their team. This group is SO LOVELY, WARM and CARING!! Thank you from the bottom of my heart for making one of my most difficult days, bearable. I know Bomber is in a better place.. and I know he went there with nothing but love surrounding him. You guys are the BEST!! and a special shout out to Christina who was AWESOME when I first called. I was a MESS, and she really helped me through that initial call! YOU ALL ROCK!!!
