My mother was in the specialty hospital and someone in our family tried to be there around the clock to see to it that she was taken care of appropriately. Some of the nurses have nasty personalities, and a nursing assistant by the name of Ashley (young, Caucasian, with red hair) should be terminated. I was there one day and the entire time in which I was there, the nurse constantly called her for assistance but Ashley never came in a timely manner, she often showed up after the nurse had completed the task. She has a very nasty personality in which I believe is not conducive with the line of work in which she does. They have left my mom laying with fecal matter on her, hours after being told that she needed to be changed. I arrived extremely early on a Saturday to see exactly what was going on when we were not the there watching over my mother. When I arrived one of the nurses had left a large bag of several patients valves of blood in a plastic bag sitting in my mothers room. Upon noticing that I was in the room the nurse then came in and tried to pretend that another nurse ( NOT HER) had left the valves of blood in my mothers room. This place can be a nightmare for anyone who is NOT able to consistently monitor their loved ones. Some nurses seem to be caring but I believe that this is only because we were present and they were pretending. You also have to careful if you are non-white because some of the nurses are bigots. I sat in the same day with my mom and I heard a very loud knocking and at first I assumed that maybe the maintenance people were making the noise. I proceeded to go and investigate the noise and I did not see anyone in the hallway but when I looked into the room next to my moms room the woman was sitting up in her bed, holding onto the railing, and shaking the bed very violently to get the attention of anyone as she was having trouble breathing. As I turned around a nurses aide began walking to her room. My greatest concern was that this woman was mobile and she had to have pushed the button to the nurses station but no one came. If your loved one has to be placed into this facility, then I greatly advise you, if at all possible to spend days and nights with them. Do not be consistent with the times in which you arrive as they will keep a mental record of this and only pretend to do their jobs when you are present. I would on occasion pretend to leave and then return to my mothers room in order to see what they were doing or not doing and it was clear by their attitudes that they were annoyed. I hope and pray that your loved one does not have to be in this facility as the care in which they will receive is less than adequate.

This DUMP gave my husband SCABIES and a massive bacterial infection. He thought he was having a heart attack while doing yard work, so, he drove himself to Lourdes because its close, less than 3 miles away. Turns out it was just a pulled chest muscle BUT, they admitted him just to be sure. Okay, thats fine. That was in May. The room he was admitted to was so incredibly filthy that when I saw it, I urged him to leave immediately. The walls hadnt been cleaned in forever, the floors were sticky and broken, there was someone elses urine on the toilet seat and floor, balls of dust and human hair blowing around the hallways, and so on. He wanted to stay, just the night. A nurse came in and handed me those anti-slip sock booties for him. I thought nothing that they werent in a bag. I removed my husbands socks and put them on his feet. Fast forward a few days later. Three red bumps on his one foot, where the sock had been. 2 days later, his other foot, covered with red welts. He asked if they could be mosquito bites. I said no. And in two weeks he was covered. He went to his doctor and was diagnosed with scabies. When the doctor asked what hospital he was in, and when we said Lourdes, the doctor rolled his eyes and said that hospital treated a lot of homeless people and was absolutely filthy. The nurse also said its nickname was Death Valley, because no one gets out alive. Its now September. Because of this piece of crap facility he has been sleeping in a chair in the side room as to not infect anyone. His treatments, and they have been multiple have cost him over a thousand dollars, he then got a bacterial infection from either the dirty needles they used or the scabies themselves. Three rounds of antibiotics enough to kill MRSA but yet he still has the rash. Now he has taken an HIV and Hep test to make sure they didnt give him a deadly disease (hes fine thank GOD!) and now if this antibiotic round dont help he needs to go to another hospital and get IV antibiotics And, Lourdes has the brass balls to keep sending us bills. They will be getting a letter from our Lawyer soon. They owe him money.

Horrible! My father was admitted, for excessive fluid, and congestive heart failure. He is an invalid with early onset Alzheimers. While out of town, I contacted the attending nurse to provide my cell phone to make sure that I was given 24 hours notice of my dads discharge since he is an invalid and is unable to care for himself. I explained that my father has a 24/7 caregiver. Necessary arrangements would have to be made to have him there for my fathers discharge. I specifically noted that he was unavailable today, Monday, August 21. Today, Monday, August 21 I received a call stating they would be sending my father home within the following hour. They were unaware, after four days of caring for my father, that he was unable to walk! That being the case, the doctor insisted he was fine to go home. He was allowed to stay one additional day, awaiting his caregivers return, but would have to pay the hospital bill for that day which could amount to upwards of $20,000. When I told them to go ahead and have the doctor call me immediately, the doctor found a refused to call me. Instead, they ignored me and scheduled my father for discharge the following morning. I am baffled by the fact that they were unaware that my father was an invalid and could not walk or care for himself, coupled with the sheer neglect for his well-being once he left the hospital. They refused to offer a discharge for the following morning and when I asked if they understood the financial burden I was told that they did not understand it.

My bf had to visit the ER last night and the nurses and staff were cordial. Dr. Natkiel, the attending doctor was great! It wasnt until we had problems at the pharmacy and we called the number on the prescription and Judy the secretary was EXTREMELY RUDE and ignorant. Saying she will not talk to me nor my bf about it. I was telling her that he was in severe pain and she kept brushing me off and eventually said goodbye and hung up. I emailed Lourdes to let them know that Judy has no place in a hospital workplace. She has NO COMPASSION, NO EMPATHY and NO MANNERS. Completely unprofessional and a horrible human being! I had always defended this hospital when I had surgery there in 2006, but I shouldve sued them as my family recommended since they left me on a bed in a hallway in the ER and made me wait over 3 hours for test results. It was during this wait that my appendix ruptured and turned a 45 minute surgery into a 3 hour one. If everything goes well for you there then great. But if you have any problems after you leave, I feel for you. Judy will not care one bit as the hospital has done its work, billed the insurance company and you are obviously no longer their concern. Or at least for Judy. Shes apparently the end all, be all of the hospital and trumps all doctors since she wouldnt even let us speak to the attending physician.
