Good doctors, bad medicine. The first thing you should notice is that no elderly people are in the office, which is odd since its in a central location, easy to get to, and they are mostly Internal Medicine specialists. The next thing you will definitely notice is the surly elderly woman at the front desk who manages to glare even at people who are not asking her for anything. I saw a wonderful 2nd generation doctor who knew a lot about my health, but he was hobbled by the "defensive medicine" being practiced there. The low point of the year I spent in their care was when I told them I had transferred to another doctor (no fault to them, I wanted a VIP/concierge type of care system), and they sent me a nasty note saying basically "Youve left our care and from now on we will not give you any more help. For the next 30 days we will provide emergency care only." Im not even sure its legal for a doctors office to deny care for that or any other reason. Not that I was planning on going back, Im happy with my new doctor, and I was reasonably happy with them, I just dont like 15 minute appointments and their help always seemed "measured" like they were tongue tied about what they really wanted to say. Thats not productive medicine, so I left. Why send me a dear john letter? Must be some kind of lawyerism I dont understand. Its sad because my new doctor knew my previous doctors father (also a doctor), so I wish things hadnt ended in such a weird way. Ive never been told by a doctors office that they will not help me, even if I transferred care. Its grotesque that they sent me such a letter. That front office is killing them. I gave it two stars because I can see that my old doctor was a good person who cared about me, but there were too many things there that made my skin crawl or prevented any actual (long term health issue improvement) help from being transmitted. Over there I felt like they were blaming me for my illness, and thats not right. I felt like they were treating me as a danger to their practice because I had chronic illness. Deep down they may have wanted to help, but they put their practice before the patients needs (defensive medicine). Obviously I had to leave.

I have a sneaking suspicion that many of the reviewers are the type of people who always seem to have drama around them but, shocker, "These things arent my fault. They just "happen" to me!" My wife and I have been patients of separate doctors in this practice for 12-13 years. We have never seen any of the problems that the other reviewers seem to have. You would think that during so long a period SOMETHING bad would have happened to us if the problems were rampant (as implied). This is by far the best medical practice I have ever used. Unlike what you read about in the rest of the medical profession, these doctors appear to have made the conscious choice that they can make a comfortable living without making the almighty dollar EVERYTHING. Every single time I have been to the doctor, the discussion with the doctor has been lesiurely and not rushed. They take their time rather than try and cram in as many sessions as they can get. 98% of the time, if you arrive 5 minutes early for an appointment, they call you back BEFORE the actual appointment time. This is true even later in the day. That means they do not fall behind, despite the leisurely pace mentioned above. They are not overbooking at all. After the nurse interviews you about your symptoms and takes your vitals, it is never more than 5 minutes before the doctor is in with you. In addition, for acute minor illnesses, they have had for about 5 or 6 years an afternoon walk-in clinic. Thus, if you have a cold, flu or other illness that needs medical attention, you will always be able to get in to see a doctor on the same day (though it may not be your personal physician---but when you have the flu, you dont care, you want DRUGS!). Lastly, Id bet money that none of the complainers directly contacted the doctor to register a legitimate complaint. It is possible that once in a while there is a bad employee (everyone has them at times) or a bad day, but the owners of the practice (the doctors) cant fix the problem if you dont let them know.

The health care at this office seems decent, but if you ever have a billing issue the staff are completely uncooperative - no matter how easy the issue is to resolve. Notice other reviewers saying the same thing. Please save yourself the stress and pick a different office. If you do choose to go to this office do not start the visit or accept any services without asking for the exact billing coding they will use and calling your insurance to make sure it is compatible. Especially routine lab work. Otherwise you will receive a bill for something that your insurance does cover or apply to your deductible, but that they reject due to unusual coding. $300 is no small amount when its something that your insurance will pay or negotiate with the right coding. When you find yourself in this situation you will quickly find that all your calls get sent to the black hole that is "Terry in accounting". After a couple weeks of calling and leaving messages with Terry at various times of the day you may get through and Terry will assure you that she will quickly resolve your issue. Nothing will happen after that call and you will find yourself calling back several times a week and leaving voicemails without reaching her. The office operator will take messages as well, but you will still not be called back. My visit was 7/29/14 and as of today 12/1/14 I am still dealing with this nightmare.

when I set up my appointment I told them my problem I was seen the next day which was great. Dr. Sangeeta Varanasi came into the room and told me that I should see a neurologist because I have had a headache for 7 years. I told her Ive seen a couple of them. I went to this practice because the website says " Because internists are often called upon to solve some of the most difficult medical puzzles, they are sometimes called the “doctor’s doctor.” I have seen so many doctors and specialists I was excited to see the doctors thinking this time someone will help me but instead.Dr. Sangeeta Varanasi seemed unprofessional and could not think about my situation for 5 mins even after I told her of other issues that might be a factor. All she had to say was see an neurologist. I left there feeling mislead and not worth her time. I feel that if your practice could not treat headaches then I should have been told when I made my appointment. I was desperate for help and the practice did not uphold there word. When you say your the doctors doctor then why would you shove me away and send me somewhere else? To me you seem like the middle man which I do not need. You not only made me feel that I was a wasted of your time you also billed me for a service that you could not deliver. Shame on you for treating me this way, I came to you with hope and left with feeling rejected.
