Having just moved to the area, I choose CP because of the high reviews and am writing this to set the record straight. I will admit that I am picky when it comes to vets so for anyone with unlimited amounts of money and absolutely no idea how to care for an animal, disregard. For instance, it may not bother some people, but I dont like to be charged for every q-tip and kleenex, and here, I was charged $540 for a visit that lasted 1 hour,-- 40 minutes of which I was sitting in the waiting room. Again, some people dont mind spending their entire day at the vets office waiting room. My dogs and I (unlike some of the dogs and owners that apparently LOVE the vet on this review sight) would rather be out walking or playing. The vet, when she finally emerged, was rude and made insinuations that perhaps I dont care for my dog-- and then acted as if it were by pure chance or luck that he is at a perfect weight and in perfect condition.... (the $540 was for a vet fee, examination fee, wellness exam, times 2 animals, and various other fees) For the record, I have volunteered with rescues and mobile vet clinics for years and my animals are in excellent condition because they are cared for 24 per day. Another thing I am picky about is having them take the animals out of the room. For people who have no idea what they are doing and dont care, this may not be a big deal. I let them take my cat and then proceeded to listen to her howl in pain for the next several minutes. In 12 years I have never heard her make those sounds. Finally, check out was inefficient and meds have to be picked up at various locations around the triangle-- as they cannot fill them there. Again, for people with unlimited money and unlimited time, this may not be an issue. In sum, this may be an "excellent" vet for people with far more money than knowledge on how to care for animals, but for anyone that knows anything about how to care for an animal and doesnt appreciate the "fear factor"/guilt trip attitude or shelling out their life savings on a trip to the vet I suggest you look elsewhere.

We take our 5 animals (3 dogs and 2 cats) to Colony Park and we could not be happier with their practice, their staff and everything that they do for us and our pets. One of our dogs is a very nervous dog when it comes to going to the Vet, but CPAH goes well above and beyond to make sure he is safe, calm and as anxiety-free as possible (and this is no easy feat, believe me). Their entire staff is exceptional- the front desk staff is always so considerate, knowledgable and always willing to do whatever it is to make sure that we are happy with the responses and service we receive. Their Vets and Vet Techs are wonderful with our animals and again, in particlar, with our dog that needs special attention when it comes to dealing with his nervousness- hes a rescue, so anyone out there with a rescue animal that has some (difficult, albeit understandable) hang-ups about being poked and prodded, you should know that everyone at CPAH is more than capable of helping you- and our dog is a 60lbs pit bull mix- so they clearly know what they are doing. Dr. Klaitman is the Vet that our dog goes to as she has a particular specialty with working with dogs like ours- she goes very slowly and makes sure to always be aware of our dogs needs first when dealing with him. And each Vet we have had the pleasure of working with at CPAH is this way- they put the specific needs of you and your pets first- and they will take as much time as necessary to answer questions, give advice, examine, look into things, etc. I hope anyone looking for a great Vet will go to Colony Park but I especially hope anyone in need of a Vet that can work with dogs (or cats, Im sure too) that have specific nervousness (and nervous aggression) when going to the Vet will know that I understand fully what that is like- and I would not send my dog anywhere except Colony Park.

We and our merry crew of critters (two dogs and one cat) have been patients of Colony Park for five years now, and absolutely adore them. All of the staff -- front desk, technicians, and veterinarians -- are both very competent and caring. They have good systems in place for managing routine checkups, vaccinations, etc. And we have never had a problem getting an appointment for the occasional (or sometimes frequent!) unexpected issue as well. There are a number of other vet hospitals nearer to our house, but I have no doubt well stick with Colony Park for the long haul. They truly go the extra mile, and I never feel like were getting "gauged" when it comes to services ordered or prices. It all seems quite fair, especially considering the quality and comprehensiveness of service provided. We simply couldnt ask for a better full service vet hospital! We have to give a special shout out to Drs. Klaitman and Hughes, who have put up with our pets various quirks (a cat who likes to climb through ceiling tiles) and neuroses (two dogs that go cuckoo around other animals) with endless patience for years now. They, their technicians and support staff are virtually saints in my book! One final note -- I love the actual space of the hospital. Their check-in/waiting room area is very warm and friendly, with lovely paintings, collections for donations to local rescue groups, products from high quality and specialty suppliers, and treats for both critters and humans :). The front yard garden/landscaping is beautiful. Everything is so well taken care of. It seems like they put a lot of time and attention into making sure that their patients have a good experience, which we greatly appreciate.

Honestly, I cant speak more highly of Colony Park! They are the best vet hospital we have ever been too, and they are very practical in their treatments as well. My husband and I have been on a stricter budget since I am in graduate school, and unfortunately we have had two emergency visits with our 10 year old yellow lab and 4 year old tuxedo cat. Both visits we were seen within the hour by Colony Park and were not charged for an emergency fee like most vet clinics, just a general office visit. In both cases, the vets said that rather than running a ton of expensive tests right away, that we could start with a more common treatment and see how the issues progress. In both cases the medicine prescribed was the answer for both our fur babies! I really appreciate the vets at Colony Park because they will be straightforward with you and tell you whether or not they think extensive tests are necessary or if we can wait a little bit to see how the issue progresses. A lot of clinics just want to run tests and make money. I also wanted to highlight how amazing Dr. Mckinney was at our first visit (which was an emergency!). Since it was a friday when we brought our yellow lab in, she did a few tests and started him on some medicine and gave us her cell phone number to update her daily for the next few days. I was worried that she really didnt want us to text her while she wasnt working but every time I sent her his temperature and how he was doing, she responded promptly and said that everything looked good but to keep updating her to make sure everything was ok! That really spoke wonders to me and I will always choose Colony Park from now on!
