I am new to Cincinnati and went to Rogers Family Dentistry. I called and the person on the phone was extremely nice and got me in the same day. When I arrived the front desk person was wonderful- very customer service focused, friendly and attentive. I arrived at 1:30 to complete paperwork and the appointment was scheduled at 1:50. They didnt take me back until around 2:20. The hygienist assistant wasnt overly friendly but did her job. The hygienist came in and started talking to the assistant and ignored me. The hygiene visit was very unusual. I have had excellent dental hygienists in the past and this was very uncomfortable. She barely talked to me and didnt offer any suggestions regarding my hygiene- very unprofessional. I was in the chair for 30 minutes for a hygiene appointment which is very short. It is usually an hour or longer. The dentist came in and seemed rushed and it wasnt what I expected since I was there for a first appointment. She answered my questions but I had to ask questions- she didnt offer much information about what I needed to do regarding my teeth and concerns I had. If the experience had been good, I would become a patient. They asked if I wanted to schedule another appointment and I declined. The phone call to schedule and the front desk associate were both amazing. I was really disappointed that it went well after I checked in. Still looking for a good dentist that wants new business and does what it takes to make sure that happens!

Worst dental experience. I paid the cost of my procedure up front before my procedure was rendered. I went for a deep cleaning and a filling to be placed. The hygienist was in a rush because she was behind. She dropped the instrument in my mouth cutting my lip and gums. She was rough. I told her my bottom gum was not numb. After 3 tries they finally used a different medicine to numb the bottom jaw. Before the 3rd try she told me I will have to have the procedure done with just nitrous to "take the edge off". I told her no they were going to numb my gum or she was not doing the procedure. She finally had someone give me a different shot that did numb my mouth. By then she was in a hurry so she was very rough, she even dropped the instrument in my mouth cutting my bottom lip and gums. When the filling was placed my lip was caught in the device they used and not offered to be moved after the person knew my lip was caught. I had called the next day because I had 20 plus blisters in my mouth from the deep cleaning and filling (or maybe nonsterile instruments). I was told to come back in so they can put some medicine on it. I refused because they already messed my mouth up. A few months later I received a bill for $176. I have called several times to get a break down of what was paid by my insurance and to let them know I already paid everything up front. They are now turning me to collections for $300. I am working on getting it straightened out but they are very unprofessional.

Dr. Nagy was always pleasant and I felt confident in her work; however, the office staff is rude and incompetent. I called weeks ago and sent an email asking for my records to be sent to a new dentist. They lost my email twice and its been constant calling and talking to different people to simply have my records emailed. I wont recommend because of the office environment. There seems to be a huge disconnect between the service you get, and pay for, from the doctors and the office staff who ultimately bill your insurance. I had several experiences where the dentist would recommend something (no emergency treatment) and then when I asked for an estimate, the estimate was way off from the actual bill. I also experienced being pushed to get x-rays that I specifically said I wanted to wait on to see if insurance would pay. I feel like its a tactic to get money instead of actually needing the x-rays to diagnose and treat. You have a right as a patient to know upfront what to expect in terms of cost for upcoming procedures. The office just seemed so busy and unable to communicate with me. I think they are used to wealthy patients who do not have to worry about healthcare costs.

I asked the receptionist when I booked the appointment if the initial consultation was free and she said yes. When I got there, they took me to a room. They started to take x-rays but I stopped the lady and told her that Im only here for a free consultation and that if they were going to charge for the x-ray, I didnt want it. She left and talked to the Dr. She came back and said that the Dr wanted x-rays anyway. I NEVER said Id pay for it... I told them that I was only there for a free consultation. As you guessed they charged me $75. I objected and asked to speak with the Dr. but he was "busy.".... coward. I told them to have the Dr. call me but he never returned my call. This is the young male dentist. If you want a lying dentistry, this is a great place to go. Otherwise, go elsewhere.

This is the worse dental office for dental work. They are not professional and a joke of a dental office. Dr. James Rogers has to be the worse dentist ever. I went in for a procedure and it took 3 hours when it was suppose to be an hour. Dr. James Rogers started throwing dental instruments during my procedure and constantly yelling at all the employees. Dr James Rogers messed up all my teeth. He started grinding teeth that was not suppose to be touched and hit a good tooth with an instrument and put a hole in that tooth. He should not be a dentist. Do not go to this dentist!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! if you want your teeth to be messed up then go there because that is their specialty. They are only in the business for money so they mess more teeth up so you have to keep coming back.

Ive been going to Rogers for quite a few years for general cleanings and maintenance. Throughout that time I have had friendly service and great conversations with Dr. Jim about the Buckeyes! Recently he introduced me to a new treatment for desensitizing super sensitive teeth. For years I used different sensitive toothpastes, mouthwashes, and desensitizing strips. None of them worked. When Dr. Jim told me about the desensitizing treatments I was skeptical; however, after treatment #1, I already noticed a difference. The treatments are painless, and only take about 15 minutes. Im halfway through and, so far, so good! I can eat chilled fruit again! Thank you Dr. Jim!

My husband and I have been going to Rogers Family Dentistry for over 30 years. Weve never had any problem with them, and weve both had our fair share of dental work. I have 2 crowns on my front teeth, and the usual fillings. He had braces, and had to have 2 teeth pulled; when the braces were gone he got a bridge or crown of some sort to fill in the gaps. We both have never had any problems with them. And weve had those for well over 20 years. I see Dr. Vilardo, he sees Dr. Nagy (Dr. Rogers daughters) and we truly have been very satisfied. We moved a bit away and considered changing to a closer dentist, but couldnt bring ourselves to do it.
