My experience here was totally horrible. As soon as i walked in the door the lady behind the counter gave me a disgusted look but talked real nice in front of her boss, I saw her eyes stare at my tattoos. She then informed me that the order for my glasses was not sent out due to a discrepancy with my paperwork. Their inability to contact the originator of the paperwork that was needed left me a little puzzled. I calmly asked for the return of my prescription papers and walked out the door. As I left, I was faced with trying to make a left hand turn on to Pearl rd. during busy hours. I zoomed across 5 lanes as fast as i could, with a little wheel chatter but no real big deal. guess i should have put some air in my tires that day. Anyways I had put no thought to the situation till I went to work the next work day. My boss had called me into the HR office for a little meeting. At first I had no clue what I was in there for till the HR person told me that one of our providers had called the office to complain about me and my visit to their establishment. My first thought was why could they use the phone number to the place that I work to complain about the way that they chose to judge me? But they could not use the same number to acquire the paperwork needed to complete the transaction! I agree with the other comments I have read about the customer service here. Just going to this place was more trouble than what it is worth. Their prices are too high and they get a BIG ZERO for customer service. My HR person told me that they do not want me to ever go there again and not to call there either. (YEAH! LIKE THAT WAS GOING TO BE A PROBLEM!) So all i am left with is to give a bad review in my own opinion about this place and the people that work there. If you read this review keep these things in mind... 1)Dont leave your tats uncovered. They will discriminate against you from the start! 2) Dont go there during heavy traffic hours. A little slip of your wheels will surely get you in trouble. AND 3) Save yourself a ton of trouble and money by just going to SVS Vision or Lens Crafters. At least those places dont let their own Bigotry get in their way of a happy customer or a job well done. I had not given a second thought about this place until they called my place of employment and had lied to the HR person about my character. I was not even mad about it till i had to go to the office and explain the whole situation as i did here. My lawyer however wants me to press charges for discrimination and defamation of character. I am not the type to sue for that stuff but then again Karma Happens all on its own. hahaha! Even both of my bosses and the HR personnel mentioned that i am to laid back and too nice of a person for them to believe that the person they had described was me. This subject was quickly dropped and all is well now. I hope that the employees here realize that judging a person by the expression on their face or colors on their skin really hurts inside!

I tried them three times and all three times I was disappointed in the customer service me and my family received. Its not a kid friendly facility. Upon arriving with my three children ages 8,10 and 13 I was immediately told to keep my children off the chairs because they didnt want anything to happen to them. The glasses are overpriced. I took my sons glasses in three times because he kept breaking the arm. The glasses cost me 100.00 (with insurance) and every time they ordered a new arm they charged me $55. The owners daughter is not a pleasant person to deal with. I brought my daughters glasses back because the screw fell out of them. Her father who also works there "fixed them" but what he really did is put a screw in the arm of the glasses that didnt fit the hole and stripped the screw. The screw broke off and the part of it was stuck in the hole. When I brought it back because it broke again, Michelle wanted to charge me for the second repair when I told her that her father was the one who did that to the glasses. She said, well he is old and cant see that well. How is that my problem? Its a shame because they are so close to us but I cant stand paying someone to treat me poorly.

Only gave 1 start because it wouldnt let me post, they would receive a big "0" if there was one.... ... Horrible, terrible customer service. You will be charged a $55 for a "fitting charge" which we were told is another cost for the doctor to write a prescription for contacts???. He fitted me with the exact same contacts was the comment back... , but things could have changed, was the response.. but they didnt change... ??? That is when the rude, unprofessional associate, the daughter of the family business came running over to chime in... Can not explain the charges in professional, curious manner. What a winey brat....Be careful, because if you question this, you will be confronted by the rudest person that you have ever ran into. Note to optical professionals, note all costs before a service is provided.

Its so easy to discredit someone;s business on line these days. My family has used Family Optical for over 30 years. They have always been most accommodating to all my families needs. I have owned my own business in the past and understand how hard it is to deal with the public. When you have a family business and are not part of a huge corporate chain, you have to work three times as hard to keep your business alive. I read the two bad reviews here with great suspicion as I know the folks at Family Optical always try so hard to please. When I had my business, I always had one or two customers who tried to get something for nothing. Thats why I give anyone with a small business a lot of kudos for putting up folks like this.

This past Saturday my husband and I entered Family Optical and was greeted immediately with a smile and How may we help you? Michelle took the time to understand our needs and helped us to figure out what frames would look and serve our best needs. They have a variety of frames to pick from and prices are reasonable. I would and will recommend my friends and family to visit Family Optical next time they need glasses. As an administrator of a small business myself I know how difficult it can be to compete with chain businesses, I believe Family Optical is doing the an excellent job in serving their customers needs.

I found Family Optical on Google when I needed to have my sons eyeglasses fixed because his regular eyeglass office was closed due to it being Good Friday. Michelle was so helpful & provided great customer service! She saved my son from having to walk around with blue tape on his glasses to keep them together. Oh & I forgot to mention, Michelle discounted the eyeglass repair because the repair didnt meet her standards. I wouldve paid anything to not allow my son to walk around all weekend with bright blue tape (his school) wrapped around his glasses, but I was appreciative of her honesty.
