January 2013: Im new to town and my bridge falls out! What do I do? After the initial freak out because I have a gap in my smile, I call the only dentist I can think of because Ive driven past it. They have been amazing! They got me in same day and put my bridge in. Fabulous office staff! Seriously, they are thoughtful and kind, and even spelled my name right which is hard to do. And I found out that this office also does dental implants here AND they also see kids. They are obviously equipped to handle more than just teeth cleaning, and Im so impressed. This guy is an oral surgeon. And can handle pediatric dentistry too? Is there anything he CANT do? Ive gone to the dentist regularly my whole life... Ive never found a one-stop-shop before. Im actually excited to come back in a few weeks for a cleaning. Update on 4/17/13: Can I give this place a higher rating than excellent? My 7 year old daughter woke up yesterday with an abscess on her gums. I called Bethany Family Dental and they got us in right away. Thankfully, we had just had my daughter in the week before for her first ever dental visit & cleaning, so we were now aware of a deep cavity that was in one of her baby molars. We had scheduled to have it extracted in a week or so. Well, I guess it couldnt wait and an abscess appeared. For her second-ever-in-her-life visit, she did great. Mostly because Dr. Austria did a great job with her. Her emergency tooth extraction was done within 20 minutes, they squeezed us in, did a phenomenal job, never made us feel like we were intruding on their schedule, and my girl didnt cry or flinch when Dr. Austria numbed her with the needle. He did great with her and so she was great with him. She was back at school within an hour. This is a great family practice!

Communication is the key to a wonderful holistic experience. Office experience: I received phone call from Heather the day of my appointment, one of their hygienists had an accident, necessitating appointment rescheduling. She politely inquired if it was possible for me to reschedule my appointment for routine cleaning and checkup. As a busy professional, with a restricted schedule, I was unable to do so. She was more than happy to keep our original appointment. (5 stars for tact, professionalism, and flexibility) Appointment experience: I was promptly greeted by the front desk - Danielle upon entry. The dental hygienist, Rebecca (sp?) greeted me after a short wait, and took me back for my cleaning. She had great communication skills listening for my input and working with me to make a concerted effort to get my teeth cleaned and review my dental health. In the past (not at this office), Ive experienced rough scraping treatment that made my hands white from gripping so tight. I am pleased that she had the midas touch, getting my teeth clean without the hand wringing and gripping! Dr. Austria came to visit, with a calm friendly presence. We chatted up about our kids, and reviewed my overall oral health (both on the short, and long term). I left the appointment very pleased and encouraged on the direction my oral health has taken since becoming a patient here. I am definitely recommending friends and family for this dental practice.

I am so happy that I came here. I was a patient at the nationally known G.D. Branch down the street (corner of Cornell and Bethany); while it was a decent place, it cannot compare to Bethany Family Dental (BFD) in its customer service, state-of-the-art treatments, and their individual/personalized care. Dr. Austria is very knowledgable and his technical skills are par none; however, its his bedside manner, attention to detail, and his true interest in his patients that sets him apart. Dr. Mattson is new, but like him, shes good at what she does and shes engaging as well. Then theres the staff... Wow. They are all unbelievably awesome and thorough. The difference for me, since Ive been coming here, is that I feel like an individual patient and not a cog in the wheel of a larger managed care system. As I progress further into my mid-40s, I am finding how important it is to me to be seen by professionals who see me, through their listening skills and willingness to include the patient in their own care plan.

Updating: Excellent service for the past 3+ years. Im not sure what the other user who gave a one star is complaining about in terms of "unnecessary" procedures. If anything, Dr. Austria is thorough to a point and very conservative when it comes to treatment. When it comes to dental health, there is no substitute for thorough, quality care. We also love the email and text reminders, especially useful for a hectic lifestyle with children involved. Most recently I had a impacted wisdom tooth extraction with IV sedation. The BEST experience ever. Ive had multiple surgeries and such throughout my lifetime and this experience was by far the best. When I awoke, I hadnt even realized that almost 2 hours had passed! The recovery was also fast and there was minimal trauma/pain associated with the procedure. We are looking forward to the day when we can take our little one to the dentist. We know he will thoroughly enjoy the experience with the excellent staff at Dr. Austrias practice.

I had a cold sore that popped up this morning and its new for me and hideous so i decided to go un for a laser treatment. I was terrified of the whole situation as well as the embarrassment of my situation. I showed up and the staff was as awesome as possible and helped me get over my embarrassing circumstance and they treated me extremely well. NOBODY hates the dentist more than i do, trust me!, but this place was actually awesome and worth the trip. Cold sore should be gone in a week and ill be back to my normal life again!! I usually wouldnt reccomend a dentist to anybody lol but this place i would actually recommend! Thank you bethany family dental for being such an awesome and friendly staff! Every one of you in the office made my day better

I give the highest recommendation to Dr. Austria for anyone looking for a dentist. Bethany Family Dental is professional, excellent staff that always is so very efficient and seemingly with the most up-to-date equipment and approaches. His office is always clean, comfortable, and great photography in the halls. Dr. Austria has been our dentist for years from personal recommendation, and he is the BEST. Over the years, we have heard how he continually keeps up his education with the newest dental technologies, and his integrity and commitment to his profession is so evident. Complicated issues are dealt with efficiency. His expertise was never more valued as he evaluated my father on sensitive issues, and to that, we are eternally grateful.

Ive only ever had a single issue with billing that happened while they were transitioning staff; once the new staff came in, it was resolved satisfactorily. As far as the dental work and Dr. A.....WONDERFUL. He is calm, competent, and relieves any concerns or fears. He is caring and has a soft touch. I also feel very good about any fillings or crowns Ive had done and I feel much better about his work and the quality than I have of other previous dentists throughout my life. My insurance doesnt cover this practice and Im still strongly considering paying 100% out of pocket to continue care there. If I have to go elsewhere due to cost, it will be reluctantly.
