Some of the staff are nice and do their best. My issues with VIBRA Portland go on and on. Its DIRTY! Some days they dont clean at all and others they only clean the faucet handles. Some people forget the patients are human my wife screams in pain because of her recent neck surgery while they yank the pillow out from under her head to turn her, they simply tell her "we are almost done".My wife and I were led to believe that VBRA was the best at getting Trachs removed through referal, website and success stories. They did less to get it removed than the hospital that referred us here (OHSU).They didnt try anything new until I requested it after seeing very little progress in 4 weeks. Incidentally our previous hospital had her weaned off of the Ventilator in one week. Its like they sucked the life out of her.The more time she spends in the bed the more motivation she looses. My wife is so scared that one of the employees will screw something up or not follow some order and she will suffer even more complications that she wont let me leave for more than a couple minutes. I have to say I agree with her. Not a lot of effort to keep germs at bay. Ventilator hoses left uncapped on the dirty floor, Trach cap stored out of its container in the window sill. Debri left in her bed causing more wounds even after that I still find bottle caps, syringe caps and med container garbage in her bed.Turns not done at all. I discussed my concerns with management and the put it back on me saying I need to talk with the shift supervisor for the shift and the department that I have the issue with. Docs are quick to push meds but dont remove them if they dont work unless you request them too.My wife has had loose stool multiple times a day since being put on the tube feed I brought up that she isnt eating and feels crampy so she prescribed her pharmacy grade laxative, after the fourth day we refused it.I ended up providing half of my wifes care my self ( Turn, patient care, med research and so on) I had to notify them when it was time for breathing treatments and clean ups. There is little options for Trach patients in The NW so we are stuck here until we can get that thing out.I was going to flambaste them by telling you our whole story ( believe me theres more) but you get the idea. Dont believe the hype go elsewhere. The success stories they mention on their website and post in the hallways have more to do with the resolve of the patients than what VIBRA did for them.I apologize to the good people that work there but I couldnt live with my self if someone else decided to come here because I didnt tell my experience. Management should spend a day or two undercover with a patient and take a good look. (Follow up 5 days aftet leaving VIBRA)Thank god we decided to get a second opinion on the recommended treatment for a pressure sore she had. If we would have went with VIBRAs recommendation she would have been bed ridden for a minimum of 8 more weeks unable to participate in rehabilitation. Since then we left VIBRA and found a facility that isnt med crazy and allowed her to start rehabilitation right away. We now sleep well at night knowing the staff will take care of her. She only takes Vitamins and the occasional Tylenol. She has also regained movement in both of her thumbs and all of her fingers in her left hand all of witch has happened in just 5 days after leaving VIBRA. If I could give VIBRA negative stars I would.

Dark Matter
Front desk staff excessively rude in regards to cooperation with community matters. Hires crews to do maintenance and does nothing about their noise creation before 8 am. Leaves unsupervised agressive and barely dressed patients outside alone to rant and yell.Refuses to follow city of portland laws requiring private businesses to maintain safe sidewalks for EVERY ice storm in the last at least 5 years -yet shovels a path for their employees to walk to the underground parking. Also allows a super creepy trailer home to remain in parkinglot facing 102nd .

Its nice having all of the local shops right down the street and the bus line with max really close. The manager is nice and maint man is always picking up the property. They seem to be on top of things - not at all like the other reviews said. The apartment is bright and open with lots of exterior lighting. I like the ceiling fan, dishwasher and private deck with storage. Its pretty quiet so far - although Im new. Im still learning about the neighbors and the neighborhood. Everytime I go for a walk I see something new. So far so good for me. Tina

Negative experience. Poor service, poor care (except for a few employees), poor cleanliness, poor patient hygiene, unpallitable food with little nutritional value. Therapy intermittent and at times non-existent. However excellent care from dialysis nurse and wound care nurse. Ineffective, unorganized case management. Administrator gives lip service but then does not carry through with concerns.

There communication with families is horrible! My mother in law was transferred up to portland after she got really sick. We live down in northern California. We call for updates on her daily and to talk to her. We have been given wrong patient information, and transfered to wrong rooms. We JUST got a phone call from a doctor who called the wrong number to discuss another patient.

We pay extra money for the use of a sauna and a pool but they havent allowed anyone to use the pool or even SEE the sauna for the last three years. I watched as the pool started turning a darker and darker green over a period of months and they only cleaned it up recently because they want to sell it.

They have done nothing but keep my grandmother heavily sedated, no attempts to remove her from the ventilator and the care has been shoddy at best. The doctors are never on the same page and no one ever knows what is going on.
