Unfortunately this hospital no longer has the quality and care that it did 3-4 years ago. The ER is a joke. If youre truly in pain or sick I would not be seen here, unless I was on my death bed... even then, I would hope to be seen somewhere else. Because I would die from the 2-5 hour wait to be seen.. Drs are idiots. Nurses are unprofessional.. Ive had many issues. Most importantly is the experiance I had with my son, who had a muscle atrophy disease... I have a 2year old boy who was very sick, a nurse of Anastasia Kuzmin? BIG blonde gal, had a new make nurse set my sons IV up. He tried several times, couldnt get it done. Put my boy thru so much pain and agony for near 30 mins or so before she got off her lazy a** and stepped in. I wish this big blonde nurse could get put thru what my son did that night. Trust me, turn on your video cameras if you HAVE to go to this hospital. You will be glad you did. The nurses hate their jobs. The Drs are never the same. In and out. I could honestly say for 10 years before this, this hospital had caring Drs who gave 150 percent. Too bad Legacy took over...

Recently visited ER here, and was pleased overall. We got in right away (maybe just lucky, because they were swamped by the time we left), and Dr. Rose was amazing at getting my wifes badly dislocated fingers put back in place and supporting us through the process. Support staff was good overall, though the woman who repeatedly picked my wife up for X-rays kept telling me "you have to ask your nurse" in response to my asking if I could get my wife some water. Problem is, I didnt know who "my nurse" was, and they were all chatting away (socializing with one another). Instead of her finding out for me, I had to interrupt, ask who our nurse was, and get the question answered myself. Also, they couldnt fill our prescription (apparently no pharmacy in the hospital), and we soon found out that at 7:30PM on a Sunday, there are only 3 places in the entire state that are open, the closest being Portland. I feel the hospital could (should) have known this, and sent us home with enough to get through to morning.

We were in Silverton visiting our daughter, as she gave birth. My husband fell & almost cut his ear off. We arrived to hospital ER to find EVERY contact person, was friendly & helpful. They took him right in before any information was collected. He received 20 stitches & were out in a little over an hour. We received the best care possible. Plus, they told us to come back for suture removal in 2 weeks, with no additional charge. Can you believe that. They were incredible, too! We live in NY & we wouldve been in our ER, for at least 4-6 hours. You have to get all info before treating, etc. I can see why they are rated one of the top 100 hospital in US. You are a person, not a number. Thank you Silverton Hospital!! Kuddos to all of you!!

Had to take my mom to the ER. The intake and attending nurse were both great, but then the doctor came. I have a hard time believing the attending physician finished medical school, he was directly insulting to senior physicians, knew little about post-surgery recovery procedures, and ordered a bunch of x-rays that were not needed (exposed patient with weakened immune system to additional doses of radiation). Overall we ended up waiting in the ER for 3 hours to be taken care of, Salem Memorial and Good Samaritan in Corvallis would have taken one hour at most, but probably wouldnt have needed more than 30 minutes to do the exact same thing.

I took my 18 year old son in for a few stitches. I told them I was unemployed and asked if they could help reduce the bull . They said they would do what they could. Our 5 minute visit cost us almost a thousand dollars, and when we could not pay it they sued us. We now owe almost double our original bill. They NEVER told us we could apply for state help. They just informed my wifes work that she was going to have her wages garnished. This may cost her a promotion she was in line for. I can only assume they did this to help pay for the debt they are in from poor business decisions. I have recommended them in the past. I will do so no more.

This has got to be the smallest and the absolute slowest ER in the whole entire country. Ive been here for 2 hours, we barely got into a room, and there has been no sign of life since. I hear random children crying, and people walking by. But not a single person has stepped in to say the doctor will be in or hi Im youre nurse. This is absolutely mind blowing. Had I known this, I wouldve driven into Portland. Do not come here unless youre bored and have absolutely nothing to do for 12 hours. Worst experience of my life, and I havent even seen a medical professional yet.

I wouldnt even give one star for this over priced hospital. My son was delivered there 2012, the whole time we were their we got harassed about breast feeding. My son didnt want to attach so we decided to bottle feed, the doctors started getting real rude after that, till the lady that comes and asks how would we rate all the services came in. Bottom line is if you live in Salem, go to the Salem Hospital, it may take a little longer but well worth it. Silverton Hospital charges 5 times for a normal, easy birth than at Salem Hospital with a more difficult birth.

I took my daughter to what they call the "emergency room" waited 2 hours with a hungry miserable crying baby and no doctor came so we decided to leave. We even heard someone in the other room have a really irregular heartbeat and nobody came to help. To make things worse as we were walking out we saw a whole group of hospital staff just sitting there joking around and laughing as my baby was crying. One of them even said "hey look another ones leaving" like they didnt even care. Next time Im going to the Salem hospital, never coming here again.

The birth center are amazing, doctors amazing. But the nurses in the ER are ridiculous. People are afraid and in pain. The attitude is unprofessional but inhumane. Also, when we walked in, the registrar was texting on her phone and it took her a good 2 minutes before she realized that we were standing in front of her waiting to be admitted! The negative aspects of nurses completely overtake the greatness of the doctors. Go the extra 30 min drive to another hospital if you want decent care.

I found it inappropriate that I was asked three times if we were of Hispanic origin. There are other nationalities that also have dark hair and tan complexions. Give me a break. What does it matter? We are triple covered for insurance and no one is worried about being deported any time soon. What I was worried about was my child being seen by competent and caring staff which did not happen in a timely or efficient manner. Next time we will just drive to Salem or Portland to be seen.
