It has taken me a while to write this review, as this experience was terrible. It did happen a while ago but I remember it like it was yesterday. On the morning of July 25th 2016 I was at work. Something did not seem right. I kept feeling short of breath for short periods of time even though I felt completely fine otherwise. Since I work within walking distance of Main Line Urgent care I was walked over there by a coworker. I was greeted by the friendly staff member at the front desk and I told her how I was feeling. They took me back to the room and I was seen right away. That is where the positive experience ended. A nurse, who seemed like she did not want to be there helping people, came into my exam room and checked my vital signs, which she did not seem to be concerned with the results. After a very short period of time my doctor came in to talk to me. She also checked my vitals and had an EKG performed on me by my not so friendly nurse. Shortly after the doctor came back into the room and said to me and I quote “We cannot find what exactly is wrong, I recommend you go to a hospital and get checked out. It does not need to be right now but sooner rather then later.” at no point did she tell me what she thought was wrong or go over the results of my EKG. At that point I collected my belongings and left. I decided that I was going to the hospital right away as I was still not feeling well. When I got to the hospital and informed them of my situation they took me back into the emergency room right away. After looking at the papers that Main Line Urgent care gave me they asked how I got to the hospital. I informed them that I drove there. It was at that point that the nurses and doctors told me how bad my situation was. The EKG that was performed by Main Line urgent care had showed that the EKG abnormal (written across the top of the page), and my heart rate at the time of taking the EKG was in the upper 20s to the low 30’s. All of these things should have prompted Main Line Urgent Care to send me by ambulance to the nearest hospital. I was told by my doctors that if I had waited, I most likely would not have been alive to write this review. I spent almost a week in the ICU being treated for complete heart block caused by Lyme Carditis. Not that there was much more that Main Line could have done for me at the urgent care facility. There is still no doubt that they found three reasons that they should have sent me to a hospital by ambulance and not let me drive home. I feel like I am lucky to be alive had I listened to the doctor there I may not be.

My 3 year old son had a splinter in his foot on Sunday morning. It wasnt super deep, but I didnt feel comfortable cutting it out on my own so wanted to ask a doctor. His primary care doctor and back up seemed to be off for the day. So, I took my 3 year old son over to Main Line Health Center - Exton. I sign him in and we get up to the counter. We are literally the only 2 visitors in the waiting area. I have been to this health center before, so I know they take my insurance of Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO... I give the admin my ID and insurance card. She proceeds to tell me that they have changed to a certified urgent care center and cant find my insurance in their system. Admin 2 comes over to help. Neither of these admins can find Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO in their system. As this was a splinter, I wasnt willing to pay for an overly large co-pay due to their recent change without knowing the amount. They cannot confirm the co-pay amount. Since they cant confirm the co-pay, I simply ask if I can pay cash. I had $60 in cash in my wallet. My co-pay shouldnt have been more than $40, but I wanted my kid checked out. The admins say that the minimum they take in cash for ANY PROCEDURE is $150. I say "Look, my 3 year old kid is agitated from the splinter. It will literally take your doctor or nurse less than 5 mins, some rubbing alcohol and a band aid. Can I have him see anyone for 5 mins for $60?" They reply, "Nope." And, that is how I refused medical care to handle my 3 year old sons splinter on a non busy Sunday at Main Line Health Center-Exton. Paying less than $150 cash for a 5 min or less procedure is not something they will do for a child. On a small side note, someone pointed out to me that I could have just asked them to bill my insurance later. I wasnt clearly thinking about that, obviously, because I was amazed that they refused to take $60 for such a simple matter for a child. But, it should have been the admins that brought that up to me... since that is their job and all.

Absolutely irate over the conversations I just had with the front desk Christina and Christine, the nurse practitioner. (Anita was very nice) Ive been a patient there with Dr. Glessner and Dr. Garg since I was a teenager (Im 39). My entire family are patients and Ive recommended Main Line Health to dozens of people over the years. Well not anymore!! I simply asked Christina who answeres the phone if I could leave a message for the nurse and she kept saying she couldnt even though I told her my question. Who refuses to leave a message for a nurse??? Every doctor I have is welcome to let you leave a message for a nurse. She was extremely rude, and ten when I finally was able to speak to the nurse practitioner she started speaking to me with an attitude right off the bat! What a horrible experience!! I will be finding a new doctor stat and be telling everybody I know about my horrible experience here. Including my local moms group which has 6,000 members in this area. Absolutely horrible!!

My elderly mother has heart issues. She been treated at Lankenau hospital, Paoli hospital, and at the Main Line Health Center in Exton Mall which is where we have labs and tests done plus many doctor visits. All have been exceptionally good experiences. Everyone has been kind and courteous. Our cardiologist has an office there as does my mothers GP. So she now has one stop health shopping! Ordinarily, we have minimal wait time at reception. This is also incredibly convenient for us and valet parking is wonderful with very pleasant and attentive employees (especially for mom who is in a wheel chair). Only once was every seat taken and that is to be expected anywhere occasionally. We were told immediately there was a wait, we chose to wait and were still out in less time than I waited in past facilities. We have both used different hospitals and facilities in the past and both of us would choose MLHC over any others. We are most definitely your fans!
