I got Sick while on a Out-of-State visit to my Sisters New Place in Royersford,PA. I Googled the Hospitals in the Area & chose Paoli because of all the 4 & 5 Star Reviews. Once we arrived to the ER. She parked in front of the Door & Mom went inside & got a Wheelchair. My Sister then pushed me inside to the ER Reception Desk & I was processed Very Quickly! I told the guy did he want my Insurance Information & he said that someone else will get that later but this Situation needed IMMEDIATE ATTENTION....At this point, Im thinking "This is REALLLY a 5-Star Hospital!" As the guy zoomed me over to Triage and let the Nurse get my Vitals, I noticed that EVERYTHING looked CLEAN, WELL-KEPT & UP-TO-DATE!! After Traiage, I was zoomed to my ER Room (which was IMMACULATE) & QUICKLY TRANSFERED TO A STRETCHER & HAD A BUNCH OF STAFF MEMBERS HELP ME SETTLE IN WITH OXYGEN, WARM BLANKETS & PILLOWS!!! The Main Doctor (Dr. Johny) the Kidney Doctor & the Heart Doctor all came in to see me VERY QUICKLY!!! They were ALL SUPERB!!! I then was ordered an EKG & Chest X-Rays. In the X-Ray Room EVERYTHING looked SPACE-AGED!!! In a SHORT period of Time, I was assigned a Room on the 3rd Floor. The Room was VERY LARGE & COMFY!! My Mom had a Sofa Chair that converted to a Bed, which was a HUGE PLUS! When it was time to Order my Meal, I looked over the Menu & was Amazed at all the Yummy Options that this Small Community Hospital was offering! I remember thinking & telling my Mom, "THESE FOLKS EAT GOOD UP HERE!!!". When I called down to the Kitchen, the "Guy" (Surprised because in Maryland, theyre ALL FEMALE) who answered the phone was VERY NICE & WELCOMING & REALLY "GUIDED" ME THRU THE MENU FOR ME & EVEN HOOKED-UP A COMPANION TRAY FOR MOM!!! HE SAID THE FOOD WOULD BE UP IN 45 MINUTES BUT IT CAME BEFORE THAT! THE SERVERS WERE NAMED BRENT, RYAN & A FILIPINA NAMED GRACE I BELIEVE....ALL THREE WERE "OVER-THE-TOP" IN THEIR FOOD SERVICE ABILITIES! VERY PROFESSIONAL!! THE FOOD PRESENTATION WAS LIKE THAT OF A REAL RESTAURANT! THE HOT ITEMS HAD STEAM COMING OFF IT & THE COLD ITEMS WERE CHILLED!! THE PORTIONS WERE SO FILLING THAT I DIDNT NEED TO ASK FOR 2NDS OR RAID THEIR CAFETERIA & SNACK MACHINES TO GET SATISFIED!!! The reason I am only giving this establishment 2-Stars is because of the PREJUDICE that Me & My Mom experienced there from 3-Staff Members on the 3rd Floor, the REFUSAL to do the Fistulagram Procedure I needed & the way we were HORRIBLY "Thrown-Out" of the Hospital & they classifying it as a Proper Discharge!!! First, we experienced PREJUDICE from Night Nurse "Erinn", Day Nurse "Mary" & especially from the Social Worker "Robin"!!! You could SEE it ALL in their Faces, HEAR it ALL in their Voices & FEEL it soon as they came in your Room!!! I MEAN, FULL-OF-IT!!! ERINN: Showed hers by Staying Away & Not Checking-In on us or coming in when we asked for the Nurse (Always sending in a different Staff Member but NOT HERSELF). MARY: Couldnt hide her "Deep-Seated Hatred" for the Colored People at all!!! Once I caught her Vibe I started singing a few Bluegrass Country Church Hymns....BOY-O-BOY!!!...she got so Fired-Up that she ordered a "Music Therapists" to come and play a Flute so I would SHUT UP....and the Therapist that came was from India & almost Dark as me!! LOL!! I overhead her in the Hall commanding the Female Nurses & Techs to "Dont yall be Hangin Round his Room!". This is because Im a Social Butterfly & had a bunch of the Staff in my Room Laughing so Hard & Talking so Loud that youd think we were having a High School Pep Rally!!! Since NO STAFF wants to come in a Stinky Patients Room, I sprayed a few squirts of my Colognes around & WHAT A DIFFERENCE THAT MADE!!! (Nautica Voyage, Eau de Cartier Vetiver Bleu & Cuba Gold). ROBIN: She let the DEVIL out of her when she said I was being Discharged WITHOUT OXYGEN & I had to "Find your Own Way to UMMC & get your Procedure done there!!!" SHE WAS VERY NASTY & NEEDS TO BE FIRED ASAP!!! NO EXCUSES!!! GET THE HATE OUT OF THIS HOSPITAL & IT WOULD BE 5-STARS! AS IS....NOT RECOMMENDED!!!

The staff at Paoli is incredible! Over the weekend I had broken my leg while on an overnight trip. The ER in Virgina splinted me and sent me home; they were not too worried about the fracture saying that it was stable and while I would be in pain until it was corrected they didnt see any problem in waiting until Monday when I could see my own doctor. On Monday morning i wen to see my ortho and apparently the break was much worse than I was led to believe. He tried to admit me to the hospital but was having trouble getting me in so he advised that I go to the ER and we would alert his residents to the situation. The ER was very busy that day and they were having trouble finding beds although Brittany one of the ER nurses could see how much pain I was in and quickly figured out a way to get me in a room and an IV started. My surgeons found me shortly after and prepped me for surgery later that evening. Brittany not only saw that I was taken care of properly but even came by to wish me well before I went to surgery. After surgery I was in the post op room with two nurses who managed to find me a ginger ale and graham crackers (It had been well over 24 hrs since I had last eaten). Again I was kept very comfortable. Finally I was taken to 4A....THE BEST WING EVER!! I stayed there for three nights and honestly would have stayed longer! While all of the nurses were spectacular I have to say that Milana was one of my favorites. She went above and beyond her duties as a nurse! During the whole ordeal I tried to stay positive and up beat but I finally broke down and Milana was there lending her shoulder and helped me through it I really can not thank her enough. I could go on forvere about all of the nurses! Thank you Erika, Lindsey, Millie, Kelsea, Joanne, Karen, Kellie, Molly and anyone I may have missed. Cant wait to see you all next week for my follow up surgery!

We had a worst experience in the Emergency with one of the Doctor on Duty when my 1 year old son had continuous vomiting with streaks of blood. the ER was not busy at all..most of the beds are empty and we saw lights only in few rooms .. still we had to wait for 3hrs to get to the bed and they kept saying we are busy. We ended up being 5 hrs in the hospital and it was only at the 4th hr the doctor came after following with nurse multiple times. The doctor spoke for 2 mins never examined my child and went away without any further follows up. The nurse we had was also not experienced, every question we ask we get a ? on face. I am writing this review only for Emergency, other services are rated high at this place. However i do not recommend this place for Emergency especially for children... rather consider Chester County hospital or Bryn Mawr hospital where they have pediatrician ( I was told so) for emergency needs.

Far and away the best hospital in Chester County, PA. Ive been to them all. In-patient stay week of 1-12-205. Went in for shortness of breath, and pain breathing and was treated initially by the Emergency Department. Was taken in very quickly and was promptly seen by several nurses. Was next seen by the physician and in 30 minutes was given pain medications. A CT Scan revealed blood clots. I was admitted and was on the third floor. The service, professionalism, and kindness afforded to me by the Emergency and Imaging teams was very very good. Subsequently, the CT Scan that was done showed an irregularity on a Kidney. Another scan was ordered for that part of my body. It revealed a mass on the left kidney. Im going to have it removed and will not consider going anywhere else. The care on the third floor, room service, cleanliness was also outstanding.
