Bad experience. I arrived at the AFC Urgent Care in West Chester around four oclock and was told by the receptionist that there was a two hour wait and I should just go to the ER. I decided to wait it out and was promptly taken back within 10 minutes where the young man who did my intake told me that there was only a 10-15 minute wait. I needed to get an EKG because I was experiencing chest pains. I was told by the doctor that an EKG would not tell me any information and only had a 1 in 1000 chance of being accurate. Im pretty sure that EKGs are widely used for heart problems? I heard the staff laughing about it in the hallway because I was young. I then sat through the most awkward EKG of my life because it was the same young man laughing in the hall who performed the EKG who had to be in his early 20s. I did ask for a female to perform the EKG, but was told there were no female staff to perform it. In summary, I felt degraded and violated. Wont be returning. I would like to add that all four of my grandparents have had heart attacks and heart disease is rampant in my family. I also have bad cholesterol naturally. so my concern with chest pains was not unwarranted.

Look: I dont expect an urgent care facility to be as friendly or as knowledgeable as my own primary care physicians office, but Ive got to admit, I was pretty unimpressed with the attitude and professionalism of the attending doctor and his assistant. Im willing to overlook the assistants brusque nature, his inability to make eye contact, his general lack of customer-service attentiveness, if the same attitude wasnt echoed by the doctor. The doctor asked for my symptoms, took one 3-second look into my mouth, and came up with his diagnosis. He did not check my nose, look in my ears, listen to my lungs or heartbeat, feel my swollen neck that I pointed out, or ask about my history. He did not explain the medications he was prescribing. I can say it was speedy, but thats about it. I dont need doctors and assistants who fawn all over me and kill me with kindness, but it would be nice to think I was being treated in a way that promised more than disinterest. The desk staff was friendly, so theres that. And free bottled water and snacks. And, a sticker on the door that says "Review us on Google," so here I am, reviewing you on Google. Not a good experience.

Not well taken care of at all. There were three at desk - 2 women and one guy. I was not feeling well at all. Two other people int here before me- dont know how long they were there- but they were looking around as if been there a while. Filled out papers. About 25 minutes later girl came out with a finger that had stitches. So we knew there was a doc back there. NO one was friendly or gave us ANY indication that someone would be with us. The girls at desk disappeared and the guy took a personal call and went in the back room to talk personally. I finally was going to faint- or at least I decided that the only way to get help was to say I felt faint. So I went so guy in back room could see me- I told him I was going to faint- he got off phone. THen I was taken back- told Shandelle that I thought blood sugar was low- she pricked finger- finally an ambulance was called- and it turned out I was bleeding internally. They did NOT take care of me- never go back. THe Urgent care I was in the week before in Florida was fantastic! And the one on 202 is also good- this one is NOT GOOD!

TLDR: Great experience. Excellent urgent care facility. The whole shebang:The wait was about average for any sort of doctors office. As a new patient I had some paperwork to fill out, which took up most of the time. But once that was done, I got called back to an exam room pretty quickly. In the exam room I had my vitals (temp, pulse, bp, oxygen levels) taken and then gave a quick run down of my symptoms. A few minutes of waiting later, the doctor comes in, goes through my symptoms in a bit more detail, asking a bunch of relevant questions, before finally starting some physical tests for symptoms, such as asking me to cough or speak while listening to my heart or lungs. He noted that he was pretty confident about a diagnosis, but due to some family history and other factors, he wanted a chest x-ray and and EKG to be sure. Both were done in-house within the hour, displaying no concerns. Finally, he gave me a run down of what he was prescribing, some alternate causes and next steps if the medication didnt improve my symptoms, copies of my x-rays on CD, and printed out care notes.

Well, I obviously did not go on the day the other high rated reviews. The problem wasnt hard to see, I had an infection on my toe. The doctor did not ask me how it happened, he drew his own conclusion without input from me. Simple solution, prescribe some antibiotics and send me to another doctor because he did not have the tools to fix the problem he inappropriately diagnosed (that was a good thing). Probably the worst thing...I have an open wound and he was walking out of the exam room, I asked him for a bandage to cover the open wound. That is all I got...no antibiotic ointment or a nurse reading the follow up instructions. The staff was bored because it was a slow day, so you would think that I would get some proper service. Next time, I will make the trip to Exton and go to the Main Line Health facility near the Mall. This wasnt one of your stellar days Dr. Waldman. I am going to post this on AFCs website. Tomorrow, I will go see my Primary Care physician.

I came in today for pain, when I told the 1st receptionist about why I was in today she was pretty rude and maybe assume I wasnt going to pay for my service but after I gave her my card for payment her attitude change and when I was leaving I was asking about my pharmacy the 2nd receptionist became sassy when I told her to send to another cvs (that I pass to go home) but I said never mind and went to the cvs they had sent it to. But the only reason I gave this place a high score was because the NP Michael and the MA Rachel were absolutely outstanding, they were very professional got to the bottom of my issue and I left very happy to know that they took great care of me. THANK YOU so much to you two !! The receptionists both have to understand their a representation of that facility if I wasnt in so much pain I probably would have walked out for being quickly judged from just walking in but otherwise Id recommend this facility to my friends and family .

I went in on Friday and had the most wonderful experience. (besides being sick!) The staff was pleasant and had great empathy for the patients. The Doctor (so sorry I forgot his name) gave me a proper diagnosis. He called in a Rx for me and away I went. I am so happy we finally have Urgent Care in West Chester. I hope I dont have to go much at all but If I do, I know I will be well taken care of. Went back today 3/10/2017. As I mentioned before, the staff is awesome. Rachel treated me like a family member, Shannon was awesome, Beth - pleasant and welcoming. I cant tell you how much Dr. Schaller made me feel at better. He is personable and has the best bedside manner. He takes time with you and makes you understand what is going on. He also eases your fear. I am so happy with this practice. If you are feeling ill, I recommend AFC Urgent Care without hesitation.
