Been going to this doctor for years and years. Usually have a good experience, but lately it has been going down hill. I have felt as if others have said and the doctors have become used car sales men. Although I could not tell I had something wrong with my eyes years back and was told my only option was to go to daily contacts which cost me 300$ a year. I dealt with it and figured it was best for eyes, and since then my eyes have been "fine." However once again problems have arisen with this doctors office. I have had to go back and forth with my insurance and the eye company because my services were not paid since the eye doctors office put through that I had a medical condition and that was the reason for my visit. The problem was I was there for my annual and nothing else I did not even have a medical reason to be there. When I called I was told that RI doctors do not need referrals for medical visits they thought. Again, I reminded the billing lady that I did not have a medical reason so that should not even come into play. Meanwhile, I am going to go back and check with my insurance company for all my visits and see how they were billed. My father and grandmother have recently had similar billing issues. Lastly, they are trying to make more money from you because when you visit they now charge 50$ extra if you have contacts. Not for a fitting just if you have contacts. They say there are several more tests they need to perform when you have contacts that the insurance does not cover. Unfortunately, when I went to my annual my visit was over an hour and I met with the actual doctor for 10 minutes. How many more test can they conduct in 10 minutes. That means they get $3,000 an hour if they do 10 clients with contacts. Imagine if you made $3,000 an hour. I have been a client since I was in 3rd grade and it was Dr. Klibanoffs practice. He was a tough man, but it has become too much of a money making business at the office. Wish it would go back to when Dr. Corrow first started there.

Ive been going to Advanced Eye Care for more than 20 years and yes things have changed somewhat. All new staff. My eye doctor retired as did many of the long term employees retired. My thoughts are to give the new employees a chance! I ordered glasses 3 years ago which took more than 4 weeks to come whereas before I only waited 5 to 6 days. During my last visit which was about a week ago, my new glasses were ready in 7 days. That was great. Now my comments about the new staff. They are all young girls who seem to just gotten out of college. They will learn with experience as the time goes along. Yes, I adored my original eye doctor (Dr. Auclair) and the other staff members, but they have a right to retire when their time comes. We all hate change, but thats how life is. My new eye doctor is fantastic. My visit this time was great. A couple of years ago, I did leave because the new staff was a little bit slower and I was not satisfied that my glasses took just about a month to come, but decided thats where my records were for over 20 years and I have a strong history with Advanced Eye Care so why not give them all a chance to get that experience and grow. If you have an issue, bring it up to management. Dont hide behind the keyboard and sound off. Let management know. Sound off respectively and with dignity.

Great experience here! The ladies at the front desk were very welcoming and friendly which is definitely a good start to any visit to the doctor. After a brief wait in the waiting room I was escorted to few different machines by a very nice woman who was very patient with me. After she was done I was taken to an exam room, I waited in the exam room for only a few minutes before Dr. Carl entered and reviewed my chart. He asked me a few questions and examined my eyes and addressed my concerns. I really felt like he took the time to address everything I brought up. Afterwards I looked for glasses and found the perfect pair in just a few minutes usually it takes me forever but they had some really great options. A woman named Teresa,I believe it was, went through all my options for the different kinds of lenses and after using my insurance(VSP) I ended up getting glasses for under $150!!! They told me it would be about a week before the glasses were done, thats faster than Ive ever gotten glasses before due to my high prescription. Im so excited to pick them up! Overall great experience from the front desk to the doctors to the optical staff, I definitely will return and recommend this practice to anyone looking for a great eye care experience!

I have had glasses all me life. I have also had some not so great experiences with doctors offices in general ... okay, now this is what you need to know. This place is by far the worst to date (35 years)! Over an hour waiting for exam. The lady then put to many drops in my eyes. Hours of discomfort! Then the lady fitting my glasses never told me about adding coating to prevent glare. She actually got into it with me about it. I told her to added it. Okay, $60 more. Week later, went back and had them fitted. They didnt fit right and I told the guy and he said "Honey, no ones face is symmetrical." Im not sure what that had to do with not fitting properly. I couldnt get into it again with another person here. I have lived with the worst glasses for 7 months now. I have also never had glasses actually break - these broke this weekend and its only 7 month!! I would never return here and hope to be able to warn others. Unfortunately, I did tell a friend were I went and they had an even worse experience. They ask you if you itch your eyes and if you say "yes" you get a $100 dollar extra charge on your bill. Go anywhere but here!

My eye exam went swimmingly, no problem there. But then, I tried to order a pair of glasses through these people. The salesperson told me that she had to check to see if they could do polycarbonate lenses on the frames I picked and that it would be an extra 25 dollars. She said shed call me the next day after shed verified to confirm the extra charge. A month later, I still havent heard back from them. I call to check the status, hoping that my new glasses have come in, since Ive been wearing an old pair with an out of date prescription for almost a month now. Same person comes on and tells me theres a hold on my account because I need to pay $25. I replied that she never called, so I assumed that that all went through. She says she did call (she didnt) and puts me on hold. At this point, I had been on hold for over a half an hour just so she could tell me she didnt have my glasses, so I cancelled my order. Never going back to this place again. The salesperson I interacted with is a liar.
