WAY OVERPRICED! I now remember clearly why I stopped taking my animals here 11 years ago. My regular vet was out for the weekend and I needed help. I took my dog in to get him checked out because he was lethargic. He is a Cocker Spaniel and almost always has ear issues. I was aware of this, hes had the same issues for 13 years. Its the nature of the breed. The vet actually said "looks like he has Cocker ear issues." I didnt bring him in for this. I approved labs to see what was causing the lethargy. Before I could have the treatment I had to fill out a CPR approval form. They dont explain that they will hit you with a $200 bill to do CPR if the dog codes. They obviously do not attempt to keep your dog alive if he dies unless you approve the bill beforehand. I was seeing how the visit was going, it was as if I were talking to a car salesman telling me I need to buy the fabric treatment and undercoating. So, I approve labs and cpr and pay ahead of time. I did not notice on the bill that I was hit with a $25 dollar test for my dogs ears. I DID NOT approve the ear labs but it was already done. Checking my dogs ears is as simple as looking outside to see if its raining or sunny. The labs I did order come back as positive for pancreatitis. I was told it would cost $600-$1200 to keep him 2 days, give meds and give IVs. I approved a single IV and single med and pick him up later in the afternoon. I was still hit with an almost $400 bill. When I picked him up 6 hours after I dropped him off I had to sign a waiver saying I am taking my dog home against their advice. Now the dog is home 2 days later and is completely back to normal. THE PRICING IS INSANITY! For the last 11 years my regular vet is Dr. Redwine in Weber City, VA. I drive an hour to see him. Three years ago my American Bulldog had a bladder tumor that Dr. Redwine removed, kept her 2 nights, anesthesia lab, anesthesia, meds and IV and it was less than $500. His bill for removing a bladder tumor was barely more than labs and an IV at Robinsons. She lived 2 years after the tumor was removed. Ive actually seen Dr. Redwine 2 times that he didnt charge me for the visit because I had to wait longer than he liked. In my opinion you can see many other vets in the area that are equally as skilled for MUCH less money.

Took my cat Sassy here only because our vet is closed after 6pm with an emergency. She had rectal prolapse. Right off the bat they wanted to know how much we could afford and we told them we had care credit card with a $500 limit. They told us they would "push" her swollen rectum back into her bottom which was very painful for Sassy. They gave her an iv fluid, took blood, and gave her an X-ray to try to find what caused this, which they found none. Sent her home and told us that the problem shouldnt happen again. It did happen again three days later, her rectum was swollen so bad she couldnt sit down on her bottom. Went back and they told us she would have to have surgery to fix it and it would cost $500. We were very upset cause they just charged us $385 for pushing it back in! And now we only have $115! So they wouldnt help her. Ended up taking her to her original vet and they took real good care of her. They said that they couldnt believe they didnt fix it the first time! And the veterinary medical center gave us way more information and found what the problem was. I will never ever take my pets to the Robinson place ever!!! Not to mention, I also had a bad experience the first time there when I took my cat Tommy who passed away there. He had a blood clot which is deadly to cats and he died. The bad care came from the moment they put Tommy in a bag and brought him to me in the lobby in front of everyone in a bag! I understand that I was at work when it happened and they had to put him in the freezer but they could have at least put him a box/carrier(I had one with me) or the blanket I left him with. I did appreciate the stamps of his paws but holding him in a bag is one the worst memories I have! I just wish they would have prepared me for it and I wouldnt have taken it so offensive. Never take ur pets here!

I dont even know where to start with this place. If I could give them a negative 0 stars I would gladly do so. My beloved pet of 17 years wasnt feeling well one night and my regular vet (Cherokee Animal hospital) was closed. It was the closest thing open and sadly I fell into that trap. They of course make sure you have money up front because guess what they only care about. Well the doctor comes in and looks at her and says "I think shes just old and pitiful" okay? Not helpful at all. They decide to push IV fluids thats all fine and dandy but make sure to not overload other animals like you did to my sweet cat. Over 200 to be exact. Oh and they also dont check your pets health history because guess what else happened? Enrofloxacin is usually around 11mg in cats. She was given 22mg. The amount you would give a pretty full sized dog. Its contraindicated in patients with renal failure, epilepsy and cats especially older ones. All of which she had. Granted she felt bad the night we went in but the next two days left in her life were a living hell. The medicine made her go blind and she could no longer walk. I took her to her primary vet and they informed me that these symptoms were a 50/50 on stopping completely. They drew her labs and her creatinine levels were through the roof. And as Im sad to say I lost my sweet pet later that evening due to kidney failure caused by your enrofloxacin and unprofessional integrity as "veterinary specialists". Everyone please think twice before taking your pet here because it could mean losing them forever and no matter how cheap their prices may seem its not worth it. The airport emergency clinic costs a little more but they are nothing less than great to your furry friends for after hour emergencies. This is a little late of an entry but I thought it should be shared.

Recently I was visiting my aunt for a visit and after about 24 hours, I realized that her beloved kitty wasnt acting quite right. Mind you, my aunt is elderly and somewhat headstrong and she argued with me! I finally convinced her to see a vet. Since I dont live in the area, I wasnt sure where to go but I really liked the website for this practice so we selected them. What a fabulous choice! We could not have asked for more from anyone! The woman at the front desk was merely OK, perhaps less, but the attention to detail and genuine caring from the veterinary assistants and veterinarian offset that so much. They were thorough, extremely kind and understanding and took wonderful care of her beloved kitty. And the prices were certainly reasonable. Certainly we had to pay for services when we came in, but that is standard for all services. Two weeks later and he is doing just great! Many thanks to a professional practice where kindess is also part of the package.
