I cannot speak to the medical care as we never received it but I can reflect on the customer service. We were visiting Mt. Juliet from east Tennessee and our 2 year old started running a fever and threw up a couple times. He had just gotten over an ear infection so we wanted to make sure the infection wasnt back. We made this same type of visit to a Med Express on a Sunday morning near our home and were in and out in 30 minutes. Not so with AFC... After waiting on 3 other patients in front of us (1 of which was leaving before we were taken back) we had his vitals taken and then led to an exam room where we were told the doctor would "be right with us". After 30 minutes the nurse came in and said they wanted to do a flu test and that would take 20 minutes to get the results. We patiently waited with a fussy 2 year old for another 30 minutes with no explanation. Then my wife went out and asked how long it was going to be. The nurse said "I dont know, Ill check". Ten minutes after we still had not heard from her we got up and left. We could have been halfway home in the 2 hours we spent at AFC and still did not see a doctor. It was not communicated to us that we would have to wait that long until a doctor could see us. For anyone with a 2 year old, they know the attention span is short, let alone one with a fever. This was poor communication on their part and bad customer service in general. I appreciate the concept of fast, walk-in treatment but only when it is indeed fast. Clearly there is a staffing issue with this office. I would not go to this facility again and would look for an alternative facility before walking into a other AFC.

***NOTICE***SCAM ALERT*** needed an annual physical, and my DOT Driving Physical was due. It took a bit of searching, but I did find American Family Care that took my insurance and also was approved to do DOT Physicals. Both of them are the same. Blood Pressure, Heart Rate, Eyes, ears, etc. Same Physician and same tech asked the same questions for both. In fact, my personal physical was much more extensive. When I was done, they charged me for TWO exams! I couldnt believe it! Its like taking your car in for an oil change along with warranty paperwork, and having the dealer charge you for two oil changes. Alternatively, if you called a plumber and he installed a water heater, and while he was there he adjusted a faucet, and charged you for two house visits. BE CAREFUL! You may well get charged twice when you go here, if you ask two questions of the same Physician. Or, if you twist an ankle, and while you are there, you may have a temperature, they will most likely charge you for two visits, as well!! I put down a "2" on the survey they sent and explained why. I got a call why I felt I was charged twice. I explained and the person just kept saying, "It was two physicals". Really?!?! Same person, same Physician? She would not listen. She said some Office Manager would call, but of course, THAT didnt happen. I explained that if I didnt hear from the Office Manager, I would take my problems public. Now you know about them, too. Find someone/someplace else to go. I see above that someone else had a problem with billing on a physical, as well. I wish now I would have read the reviews first!!

So, the first time I went to this place, it was great! I saw that Dr. Allana Beane was listed in my healthcare provider manual and I decided to see her. The best visit ever!! She was cordial and just an all around nice doctor who knew her stuff. The greatness ended there. I went to a follow-up appt and Dr. Beane was not there, so I had to see another doctor (should have asked for Dr. Beane when I scheduled). The PA took my blood pressure while I was sitting down. He then took me to the room where I waited almost an hour to see the doctor. When she comes in, she has no idea why Im there (didnt read my chart). She decided to re-take my blood pressure and wants me to stand up while she takes it. No problem. Theres like a ton of difference between her reading and the PAs reading and I questioned it. At the end of the visit, she ends up doubling my medicine dosage. They ask me the address for my pharmacy, but never ever sends the prescription over. Two weeks pass and still no prescription, so I call them to inquire. The lady who answered the phone is asking me all of these questions that should already be in my medical file (like dosage info and where to send prescription) and then she gets testy and tells me that they are very busy when I ask her if anyone has read my file. Please pass by this place and go to another urgent care. Im hoping that Dr. Beane will leave so that I can follow her to another practice. She is clearly the best that they have. Had to give it at least one star in order for my review to post.

I will NEVER return. Actually, just made a google account to post a review. I have an extremely swollen ankle/foot, toes are purple, my foot is a different temp than the rest of my body, and I cant bear weight on it. The "X-ray tech" was also the one who took my vitals and gave me my "anti-inflammatory shot". I had six X-ray pictures taken and Dr. came in and said my bone was chipped but she "wasnt sure what to do" so they were sending them off to the radiologist and ASSURED me I would be called that afternoon. That was Tuesday. Its Thursday and I havent heard back from them. They called me yesterday to find out how I was feeling and I told them I would feel better if I had heard back from the Dr like she said. The nurse ASSURED me, I would hear back by close of business today...nothing. The shot I got, pretty sure it was old medicine or not the right medicine at all. I came home, propped it up, and put ice on it for 20 mins, like she said, and 1 1/2 after getting the shot and returning home, my foot was more swollen than when I went in and I had no feeling in my foot. NEVER. AGAIN. I shouldve known better. I went in March for a respiratory infection and the Dr asked ME if I thought she should do a flu and strep test....how about YOU tell ME if YOU think I need a flu or strep test!

Very slow with having one car in the parking lot. The doctor was polite. I was given a zpac to help with a severe sinus infection. The staff called the following day; they left a message. Following day I called back to speak to the staff who left message but received a call center. I let the lady know I was not feeling better that my cough was still the same and painful. I asked if the doctor could call in a cough medicine to help. She said no that I would need to be seen again in a very disgruntled snarky way. I told her I didnt understand why the company would bother to call back for a wellness check if all they really wanted to do was nothing. The lady said that was their policy. I said, I guess the policy is not really a call for concern but just away to market on a website or commercial that they do wellness calls. It really is a way to tell the patient they need to go to the doctor again so they can get more money from patients. A cough suppressant or something should be a prescription that could be called in after the patient has been seen and diagnosed if needed. Not sure I trust the company to recommend others or return myself. I loved the location in Smyrna, but no so much in Mount Juliet.
