This is the absolute worst medical facility Ive ever been to. Please, seek care elsewhere! The waits are horrendous, the actual care is worthy of filing a complaint and the billing is completely haywire. Meharry Medical College has the same issues. I went to one of the leading researchers on uterine fibroids. Hes a great researcher, but his office has 2-3 hour waits. Im not kidding. My heart broke when talking with a woman who comes there for regular visits to treat her cancer and she said she regularly waits 2-3 hours. They lost my blood work, billed me for my blood work. They sent me to the General Hospital for an ultrasound. Not only did someone WALK IN to the procedure, but the radiologist said to me, "why do you have these, only black girls get these?" Thats a great statement for a hospital associated with a HBC. I was incorrectly billed, my name spelled wrong on my medical paperwork, then my insurance billed incorrectly. They would not release my medical tests to me. I received a bill 9 months later for an outstanding bill I was never made aware of. I just received a call from a collections agency for the same bill that I paid via phone 3 months ago. In speaking with the representative, my payment information was taken, filed 2 months later and then never processed. The functioning of both Nashville General Hospital and Meharry Medical college are almost laughable. However, the fact that people entrust this institution with their lives, from surgeries to important medical care takes place here is absolutely scary. I dont know that Ive ever encountered such a dysfunctional institution in my life. Every facet and department I encountered had issues. This place is a hot mess. It needs to be investigated by the state licensing boards and Better Business Bureau. They have violated nearly every tenet of their Patient Bill of Rights. The "strength, compassion, and excellence" they strive for in their mission is absolutely not alive and well. Dont go here if you expect to be either. A funny addition to this - I tried to send an email to the Hospitals Compliance Officer to indicate my issues as I published this review. That email address is no longer functional. I obtained it from the Hospitals website directly, "CLICK HERE to report a compliance or patient safety concern". Thankfully, I have the option of walking away and seeking care elsewhere. Underserved populations likely dont have that option. Im left completely shocked from the unsettling nature of everything Ive experienced from both Nashville General Hospital and Meharry. Ive wasted enough of my precious time, energy and money on these institutions and hope this review will prevent others from doing the same.

My sister came in with a very dull abdominal pain, they confirmed it was appendicitis at around 9 pm on Wednesday night. At around 1 am they assured her she was going to get surgery at 6-7am. They ended up getting her to the OR at 12pm on that Thursday, which was 15 hours after she was already diagnosed with appendicitis. When they were in the OR the doctors found out her appendix got perforated, and it had now turned into peritonitis. This would have not happened if they would not have made her wait for 15 hours. Some of the nurses have been really nice but it sucks that because of the negligence my sister has had to suffer more than what she should have! This hospital really sucks and the main Doctor hasnt even come talked to us about her case. He has not shown up. Clearly it seems like he does not care. His name is Doctor Carlton Adams. To this moment, nobody has given us a good explanation of why they had to make her wait for around 15 hours of horrible pain! Basically They only waited for her to get peritonitis!!

Theyve killed my dad because of the bad doctors and bad nurses the doctor keep telling my dad that the pain in his leg is not a blood clot its just a muscle spasm and when I asked for an ultrsound to be done the doctor said its sunday noone is working today after 30 min my dad past away and the same doctor came and said it was a bllod clot moved to ur dad lung, this doctor name is MATT KING and the nurse name is jackie , Im writing this to aware everyone from this doctor this nurse and that hospital and when you read this please spread the story to aware others

I missed a call so I called the number back. The rude woman on the phone first thing said I have no way of knowing who called you. I said ok well can you tell me what department this is, she said I dont know who called you youll just have to wait for a call back. The most beligerant woman Ive ever spoken too. I hope they do call me back I can express my disgust in person. And just FYI... I know they can look my name up and see any referalls and reason why I might be receiving a call, lady was just rude.

This is one place that the doctors are not professional at all.Doctor misdiagnosed .Went from stroke to heart to seizures.Out of control blood pressure.So very disrespectful didnt care.I left and went to another hospital they took care of the problem.Could have died at Nashville General.Should be investigated by the federal government.Doctors should be held accountable.Medical malpractice cas coming.

Too bad there is no zero star option . This place is a raquet. They send people away from scheduled appointments and make them return repeatedly to get simple procedures completed. Its a SAD use of tncare funding and even sadder abuse of the underprivileged. The staff treats state insured people as sub human. They have zero professionalism or courtesy. None.

Im being seen for my kidney I have a rare kidney disease , and I have to say the doctors and nurses have been so nice to me I can tell they really care , I really appreciate them and all the hard work they are doing to make me feel better knowing Im a complicated patient

Beware!! At this hospital they will give your bill to a collection agency and put it on your credit report before you get the bill. also I went in for a colonoscopy and a week later I almost bleed to death from my colon. I will never use this hospital again

This is by far the worst hospital ever. They are very rude and lazy. Ive been here for over 6 hours for them to do absolutely nothing. Told me I need to go to my regular doctor Monday. Are you serious? If you dont have to go here.... Dont.

My work experience there was beyond bad..the company is very unorganized. The supervisor was unorganized, unfriendly, prejudice. Did not fix things the staff wouldnt bring to his attention. .pay was bad.and their ethics very questionable.
