Im going to review the hospital in 4 parts: Arrival, look and feel, ease of use and, surgical care. 1. Arrival (2 stars) -- The sometimes valet does a perfunctory job at best. I cant recall if he opened my door or not but he fumbled when I asked for a wheelchair as I was there for an MRI and spine surgery and walking distances was not happening with ease or comfort. He couldnt locate a wheelchair immediately in the lobby nor could he find one anywhere on the bottom floor he seached. Not really his fault but still points off on the arrival process. At a surgery center you should have enough wheelchairs to accomodate surgery patients. This happend on both occassions I had to go. Once for the pre-op visit and mri and once for the actual surgery. Come on administrators invest in more wheelchairs. 2.. Look and feel (2 stars) -- Walking inside It looks contemporary/modern which is a bit on the cold and impersonal side for a place I would think wants to evoke a sense of comfort because who wants to feel cold and uncomfortable when youre already there uncomfortable and getting ready to become more uncomfortable. The seating was on cheap poorly padded peg leg chairs, again great if you dont have issue in your spine, neck, or hips. I was relegated to sitting on the floor to gain comfort because of the pressure of the poorly padded chair aggrevated my back. Would it kill to have invested more in comfort and less in modern aesthetics? 3. Ease of use (4 stars) -- great once you actually get to interact with the staff its a totally different experience. They go out of their way to make you comfortable and make the process for you as easy and painless as possible. I wasnt able to lay back for the MRI so they called the doc and arranged to give me meds that would allow me to put up with it. The rooms are great, though I too was in an east facing and like txmama said when you dont get to sleep all night and finally nod off at 4am waking up to a face full of sunlight was annoying. The rooms are really setup like a hotel room, big and spacious, and my husband had a place to sleep as well so he was able to stay the night which was a big big big relief. 4. Best for last (5 stars) Surgical care team ROCKS!!! All of them are great and friendly and do their best to take care of your needs. I wish I could gush enough about them but suffice it to say youre in great hands. To the Hospital Admins and those who need to know: Things Im going to include as personal caveats and asides that should be taken to heart. Perfume and cologne should be verboten by staff dealing directly with pre-op/op/post-op patients. Yes anesthesia makes you nauseated but heavy use of cologne/perfume will exascerbate and even induce convulsions where perhaps only nausea would have been. You guys need to streamline your info gathering skills. I have to give the same information no less than 6 times to 6 different people. How is that efficient?

I figured that when you rate a company you should rate all aspects. So as for the surgery that is 5 stars all the way down the doctor was amazing he knew what he was doing and he did it wonderfully. So that being the most important thing at this Hospital the nurse care was not so great. They were super unclean like they wash their hands and everything they had on gloves but my mother had the runs and they kept shoving stool softeners down her throat when she said over and over again that she has the runs. They let her sit in her feces for almost an hour before bring her a clean gown even though I was adamant that she gets one. They didnt provid any help with getting her to and from the bathroom they left at to her kids who really had no idea what youre doing even though that is their job. And they didnt tell one nurse to the other what was going on. The day nurse knew she had diarrhea she didnt tell the Night Nurse the night nurse knew she had diarrhea and didnt tell the doctor which left for one really pissed off Doctor. All in all the Care in this hospital was horrible.

My wife had neck surgery at this hospital in February 2016 and everything at the hospital went great. Good care, friendly people, etc. The problem is that the hospital uses lots out-of-network services you would not think of, and this will leave you with a huge bill even after insurance. In our case we, so far, have around $15,000 in out of network bills after already meeting a deductible of $6,500 - so $21,000 and counting. Things like internists, leg compression machines, and nerve testing are all billed by a third party so not covered by insurance. Obviously this has added lots of stress to an already stressful situation- and now we get to deal with insurance appeals and mediation to address the situation. So,if your insurance plan does not cover out of network expenses - I would be very careful when planning your surgery.

DONT GO HERE IF YOUR PROBLEM/INJURY PREVENTS YOU FROM WRITING!! They could not admit me to the ER because I was unable to fill out the paper work due to arm/shoulder problem. I was not drunk or rude at all but was in horrible pain. I only mention I was not drunk or rude because people never believe me when I tell them that the ER would not admit me due to an injury that prevented me from writing. I asked if someone could help me do the paper work and they acted like I was being lazy. When I asked if they seriously could not help me, they asked me to leave, as if I were begging for something that I did not deserve. Im a very mild-mannered person, and I didnt yell or scream or anything like that, but I did leave there wishing the people there were in the same pain I was in.

June 2, 2011-Everything at this hospital was excellent. All staff was friendly and helpful. I really only have 1 complaint and that is that they need to install curtains on the east side of the hospital. My room was on the east side and after not sleeping all night long because of pain after surgery, I got the sun in my eyes all morning long. I thought I was going to have to put on my sunglasses. A really nice nurse brought in a IV bag hanger and she threw a bedspread over it and blocked the sun. Over all I would definitely recommend this hospital to anyone.

The emergency room staff was extremely rude to me and my family when I came in for stitches. I have minimal scarring, but dont expect any manners from the nurses or other staff. Also - in the midst of trying to make payments on my bill, NO ONE ever answers the phone in the billing department and there is no online payment options. That makes it a little difficult to pay your bill dont you think? Not impressed - will not be back.
