HAD TO SHARE MY EXPERIENCE: My husband and I were on our way home from San Antonio to Dallas on a Sunday night, and we had to stop here because I was having excruciating pain in my back (kidney area), vomiting, nausea, etc. and Im 34 weeks pregnant (obviously concerned for my baby). They took blood work and a urine sample, and told me that I was having signs of contractions, but no dilation. They came back two hours later and told me I was being discharged because the doctor, who never came to see me, said I probably just PULLED A MUSCLE (I guess he forgot about the contractions I was having, the vomiting, and the excruciating pain I was in). He gave me nothing for the pain or nausea. We then had to drive an hour and a half home with me in the worst pain I have ever been in. Got home and the pain was worsening. My OB/GYN, who I had to call at midnight, told me to go straight to labor and delivery at my hospital. Come to find out I had a KIDNEY STONE (not a pulled muscle) that was causing me to have contractions which very well could have put me into early labor if not taken care of. SO to sum this up, I do not recommend this place, the staff, nor the doctors. My doctor was shocked that they discharged me under my conditions at the time, especially being 34 weeks pregnant. Now Im just waiting for the waste of a bill to come in the mail.

My daughter has been to hospitals all over Dallas, Houston including Conroe, and Malaysia. Baylor Scott and White Waxahachie is the best weve ever experienced. Theres a level of concern and caring here that is far above any other hospital weve experienced. The commitment to find causes, work with other allied health professionals, show caring, kindness, and consideration in every situation amazes me. Im sorry to hear of those whove had bad experiences in the ER. Its true that at some times the hospital fills up and the wait in the ER is long. But most of the time youre seen quickly and treated with complete respect, kindness, and compassion. The ICU nurses are top of their field, but down to earth, kind, warm, and treat you like family. The same is true on PCU as well as the med surg floors. Such professional level of care without being pushy or aloof, or detached. We always feel like its our own family taking care of us. The hiring as well as training here must be exemplary for everyone from doctors to housekeeping to be so personable. Its better to be healthy and never need a hospital. But if you do, like we have, I cant imagine a more caring and solution seeking place to be.

I can not even begin to describe how amazing this hospital is!! My mom was dieing. She went to 3 different doctors. Had 2 unnecessary surgerys. And no one could find out what was wrong with her. They gave her 3 months to live with hospital care. She then went to baylor. They instantly diagnosed her with a rare disease. Knowing that she did not have the money to pay up front what her insurance doesnt pay. The doctor told her he would not let her walk out of that hospital. That she would die. So he went ahead and did that surgery and saved her life... I also have 3 kids. All kids were born in a different hospital. My newest baby was born in baylor. By far the best hospital Ive ever been to... and last night my 1 yr old was having seizures. I took him to ennis regional. They said he prob has strep and sent him home. A few hours later he had another seizure and high temp. Took him to baylor this time. And they instantly seen him and told me he has the bad case of the flu and a horrible ear infection. And the doctor was so nice so nice and amazing to my son.. I can not explain how great this hospital is. This how the definition of a hospital should be. Best hospital ever

On Saturday, March 7, I entered Baylor Scott & White Medical Center complaining of chest pains. I was immediately given an EKG and then was taken to a room, where my vital signs were taken and I was then hooked up to the monitors. During my time there, I was given excellent treatment. Since I was complaining of chest pains, the medical staff first checked for signs of heart problems. I received a chest x-ray and then a CAT scan. No heart problems were found. I explained to the attending nurses and physicians about my symptoms and it was decided, based on my explanation, that I had pleurisy. The attending nurses, Amanda and Tammy, and the physicians, Drs. Allport and Aspegren were very attentive and professional. As a result, the proper analysis was arrived upon and medication was prescribed, and by the next day the symptoms had all but disappeared. I am thankful that we, in Waxahachie, have such a fine medical facility. My wife and I are new comers to Waxahachie and Baylor Scott & White was one of the incentives which made us decide to locate here.

I brought my 10 month old in with a 105.4 degree fever. Waited for an hr to get to a room. Let the staff know specific symptoms my baby was having and the first Dr wanted to give antibiotic and steroid. 30 mins later Dr. Drain came in and said it was solely conjunctivitis and prescribed eye drops and a steroid, after taking flu test, rsv test and chest x-ray. 4 days later my baby can barely breathe and goes to a different clinic that verifies she has bronchitis and sinusitis, as I initially stated to the Drs at Baylor as I get both this time of year, and it is bad enough that she needs albuterol treatments and antibiotic. I have had 2 misdiognosises at this hospital now and have always gotten the impression they want to move patients quickly instead of diagnose accurately. I will NEVER go back to this facility again.

There has been 4 times that I have had to take one of my children to the Emergency Room and leave and take them to a different ER. This ER in waxahachie is not an emergency room. I ONLY take my kids to the ER when there is a true emergency. My daughter had a severe head injury and they wanted to make her wait. Now my son completely dislocated his elbow and he was begging and screaming for help and they wanted him to wait. I have never had to wait AT ALL with one of my emergencies at a different hospital. I do not take my kids to the ER for a runny nose, but a runny nose is more important than a TRUE emergency! I always have to leave Baylor Waxahachie ER and go to a different ER that is a TRUE ER. I would think that all these years Baylor ER could do a better job with TRUE emergencies!
