I have been going there for years! Excellent until the past year. I picked up my sons glasses which where very crooked. I told the gal (with heavy accent) That it seemed they were crushed in shipment. Plus the brand of the glasses did not match the case brand. She said they can fix them, but come in another time. We will fix and get you a case that matches. When I returned. She acted like we had ruined the glasses and she could not get me the correct case. Second time. I came in to choose my glasses. Young lady at the desk. Told me I could look at them, but could not help me. There was no one in to help. She told me to pick them out and She would have someone call me. With the price after insurance. She seemed to be on a personal phone call. Never received a phone call! Yesterday I went in. They did not have my insurance info. After given it twice. Same lady with accent, Made my appt. she got my info. Then called again 2 days before my appt. To confirm and take my insurance again. I show up they still did not have my insurance correct. Lost my appt. Because they went through all of the insurance websites to pull my insurance. I told them which one it was. They could not pull up. They had called and told them that I was not covered with them. In the middle of all this. They clerk left. The next one comes with same story called and checked website. I had to reschedule til I got my insurance straight. I imediately called my insurance. They had no record of anyone calling to check my coverage. They told me they keep record of all verification on file. All I have to say. Great Doctor! but what a lazy staff! I have 2 appts. coming up for my fam members. Im having second thoughts!

Bad service. For about two years, my family members had visited Bristol Family Eyecare because it is very close to our home -- about 5 minute away. The previous year visits were fine. However, we had very bad experience in 2009, probably due to bad economy. First, my wife just wanted a spare glasses that my insurance would cover. However, they told my wife that they did not have the basic lens that our insurance covers. So we paied about $90 for the lens besides my insurance coverage. Then when I took my daughter over for a glasses, I asked them if they have the basic lens, they said they do. So I ordered a glasses for my daughter on 12/20/09. But, this time it took forever for us to get the glasses. I just called them this noon to check the status of the glasses (1/12/2010). They said the glasses come in yesterday. What? They knew we were waiting for the glasses, but they did not call us immediately after the glass arrived after loooong time waiting? It seems if you are willing to pay more, they will serve you better; if we just want a basic glasses, they do not want to serve you. Anyway, I decided to go to other place in the future.

Wednesday night I was playing with my dog and severely scratched my right cornea. I had never had that happen and was scared so I called the emergency number for Dr. Bristol - it was around 8:15pm. Dr. Bristol answered (not some off-site, rude voice service). After explaining what happened he said it would be best if I had it looked at right away and he met me at his office within a half hour and took a look. Its a good thing he did because I had an extremely bad abrasion and was in great pain plus I had a job to film in a few days and needed to see clearly! He numbed my eye with drops and fitted me with a corneal contact that acts as a band aid while the eye heals underneath. He also gave me a prescription for drops that would keep infection away and act as an anti-inflammatory. Its Friday and I just had my follow up visit - in a mere day and a half it is almost completely healed! I highly recommend Dr. Bristol! He goes above and beyond the call of duty for his patients!

I have been a patient of Dr. Bristols for two years. I just had my annual visit a couple weeks ago, and luckily my vision is holding pretty well. Im 52 years hold and have had glasses now for at least 25 years. Over those 25 years, Ive been to many offices, but I dont think Ill be changing doctors or where I buy my glasses any more. Im so impressed with him and his staff, that I think my whole family is now going. Here is my favorite thing, once you set your appointment, he is ready for you on time. Unlike other doctors office, where you show up on time and then wait an hour. This to me is another sign how how well the office is run and managed. In addition, they are not constantly just trying to sell you glasses and frames, they care about what is right for you. I would recommend anyone looking for a new eye care professional to come to Bristol Family Eyecare.

Incredible. "Dropped-In" due to an urgent ophthalmological need, [2 days earlier went to a "doc in a box" but eye not looking good]. Was seen in less than 15 minutes (hid in car until then). Prescribed antibiotics, eye drops and instructions. "Dropped-In" again 3 days later on a SATURDAY (because bad stuff always happens on weekends) to make sure all was still going in the right direction. The attending Dr. [ON A SATURDAY] checked me, confirmed instructions and gave me samples of lens wipes to try. Made a formal apt the next Tuesday, was seen in less than 3 minutes, and eye is GREAT. We are new to the area and had only used the office for a routine appointment the prior year. Staff has always been very friendly to myself and husband. Insurance paperwork is taken care of w/o issue. Absolutely thrilled and grateful. -- K Ireland

As good as it gets. This is a GREAT business. Trust me, 32 years as a CPA, I know a good business. A lot of that time representing physicians and their offices. Dr. Bristol and his staff are both highly skilled and highly personable. Equipment is state-of-the-art (no more eye dilatation given their technology) but they are not trying to use it to mark up their fees like happens so often (think dentistry!). Fees are spot on in line with any optometrist out there - including the "big box brands" and given the service and family atmosphere, its a value. Been in Bee Cave 2 years. Finally found time to get a new optometrist. I can assure you the look is over - Im a patient for life. Simply top notch and you owe it to yourself to receive this kind of care and attention.

If I could give Dr. Dan & his staff TEN stars, I would! New to the area and was so relieved to find Bristol Family Eyecare. I was quickly accommodated with an appointment. The staff was so friendly and attentive. Unlike most patients, I have a phobia when it comes to having anything in my eye. Somehow, Dr. Dan managed to get drops into my eyes! Seriously, the doctor assessed my vision thoroughly and offered great care with state of the art equipment. Dr. Dan was kind enough to explain everything carefully and I left feeling like I had a handle on my eyecare for the first time ever. Thanks to Bristol Family Eyecare for such a great experience!
