Dont waste your time with Dr. Dollar Hunaid! I had a negative experience with Dr. Dollar Hunaid. He was designated as my Primary Care Physicial by my insurance company. His office was over booked and over crowded with patients. After having to schedule an appointment four weeks out, I waited more than an hour to see him even with an early morning appointment. Finally, he opened the door and with no introduction - one foot in the hall and one in my room - he began telling me he would not be able to refill my monthly medication until after getting documentation from the previous doctor.... obviously. I told him I was having severe migraines, pain in my lower back, and a small wart I wanted removed on my foot. He told me he could only take care of two of the issues and blamed it on the insurance company. I asked if he could just refer me out to a physical therapist for my back since I had been rear-ended months earlier and the pain was chronic. He finally came in, closed the door, and asked me to stand up and touch my toes and point to the pain. He wrote me a prescription for butyl-acet-caff and told me to make another appointment in two weeks. I tried telling him I already had that medicine from my previous doctor and would like to try physical therapy since that medicine was not helping. After he said no, I asked about the headaches and wart and he reminded me he could only help me with two issues and the pain medicine would be for both the head and back. I then asked if since there was one remedy for the head and back, could he take a look at the wart as the second issue or refer me to a podiatrist to have the wart removed and refer me to a different specialist for the previously mentioned monthly medications. He said, "no you already told me two (head and back) so I will file through your insurance about those two issue, come back in two weeks." Somewhere in the middle of it all, he was interrupted and left the room for a good 10-15 minutes; however, our whole interaction was no more than about 10 minutes. He was in a hurry to get me out the door, had no manners, was not willing to work with me, and most definitely not concerned about my needs. After talking to my insurance company, I found out there is no rule about two issues per visit. That was most likely his way of dealing with his overbooked schedule and apparent laziness as a health care provider. Maybe he was just having a bad day, but I think things could have been handled better on so many levels!
