Incredibly non compassionate staff. My wifes water broke at 21 weeks in the early morning hours of March 4. We rushed to the ER there. First, I had to argue that being pregnant for 149 days meant she was more than 20 weeks pregnant and she was to be taken upstairs immediately. Come on. Simple math. After going upstairs a nurse named Jarmel came in. As the other nurse was trying to set up the fetal heart monitor on my terrified wifes stomach, Jarmel said, "We dont need that for no twenty-one weeker." Then she asks my wife why her obgyn is not there at Memorial Hermann (it used to be but because of horrible treatment we switched) and begins to ARGUE with me about it while my wife is crying and gushing fluids. Seriously Jarmel? You are a nurse and there is a patient in need. Put your pride to the side. We were told the obgyn on call that night (I do not know her name) would be in to see her in around 20 minutes. It was literally more than 3 hours until we saw a doctor. There was an ultrasound done during that time. Finally after going to the nurses station to find out what was going on I see the doctor sitting there looking at her phone and laughing with the other nurses. She comes in and checks out my wife and tells her theres nothing she can do and she will lose the baby. No antibiotics, nothing. Just - too bad. Then I ask for a medical transfer to Methodist Willowbrook, for that is where my wifes doctor practices. She says no, she cant do that. I call Methodist Willowbrook and ask if that is true, and they tell me that is ridiculous, of course they can transfer. I tell that to the "doctor" (and I use that term loosely because doctors are supposed to care about their patients) and she says, "Well itll probably take an hour." We literally signed ourselves out right then and drove to Willowbrook, where they did everything they could to save our baby, which we ended up losing. Shame on you, Memorial Hermann. You should have a little empathy for those in need.

I dont see the point in emails. Ive called administration and spoke to 2 different people from 2 different departments with promises from both parties. No one has returned my calls nor explained the incompetence of the imaging staff. 2 failures and not divulging a patients condition until 3 weeks later is enough for our family. Ive had two different tests after an a emergency gallbladder surgery and three weeks later they finally told us it was gangrene. After the first hvac test the nurse told us it was preformed wrong they forgot to clamp my jp drain. The next test was for a cat scan which I was kept for over 2hours and drank 900 ml of the nastiest concoction which made me sick, heartburn /stomache. Mind you I have to keep this concoction down for a whole hour before theyll do the scan. And when the hour finally passed the tech decided to turn me away for a pregnancy test? !?! I explained to him that I wasnt active due to surgery ect. Plus I had a pregnancy test in the emergency room next door less than a week ago. It didnt matter what I said, the tech recited "Protocol ." Well being so the first PROTOCOL should be when checking in a female patient to get any pregnancy issues out the way before drinking 900 ml of the concoction. After all what is the point in drinking the medication for the test if you cant preform it due to a pregnancy. And just for the record, I had another pregnancy test done per protocol. Yet, Im still not pregnant. Of course I know thats probably due to inactivity / protection. I contacted two different people in administration without any resolve. They promised to get back with us but that never happened.

The worst experience in the ER - huge waste of time. My husband went to memorial Herman Heights ER on Monday and complained of abdominal pain and had diarrhea they sent him away saying it was a "virus". They did not do a cat scan, why because they needed to hurry and free up the bed. I called Tuesday and said he was not better they said you can bring him in but it will be another co-pay. I complained and the director was supposed to call me. He/She never did (surprise). By Wednesday (less than 48 hours) we are back at another ER (Methodist) and they do the appropriates tests I.e. Cat scan where they find he has bleeding in his colon and admit him to hospital where he stayed for 4 days!!! memorial Herman is saying their care was appropriate. Um. If it was appropriate we wouldnt be back at another ER for appropriate care two days later. Went through the patient advocate who said the Director of the ER, dr. Shoemaker and the director of the hospital, Dr. Carpenter both agreed their care was appropriate and they will not adjust the fee for their visit. Surely they couldnt have read the details when they signed off because Im not a doctor and Im certain abdominal pain, extreme pain, and diarrhea should call for a cat scan. Our primary Doctor said they should have given it at the time. The hospital said your husband said someone at work Had the flu - ummm is that how they came up with the virus diagnosis? Unbelievable! And now we are paying two ER bills. Absolutely ridiculous!!!!! Go to Methodist for good care. Update - sent an email to help@memorialhermann as asked....waiting for a response. Hope they can help us!

This facility has the right concept but their employees arent moving in that direction. I can not take away from the knowledge most nurses possess but genuineness, respect, and courtesy can carry a company or organization they represent even further. There were too many walk-ins by other departments. A patient/family member should be made aware of all staff and service departments that may enter the room. Its alarming when you see a face you never seen peeping in on you. I am thankful toward the emergencys room wait time. Its critical for patients that are admitted through the emergency room "plan of treatment" gets expedited by the attending immediately. Its also a scary place when you use your voice to report anything that may take away from the patients treatment and recovery; it only opens a door to retaliation and further mistreatment. Its also the people who you look like treat you the worse at times. I am pleased to mention Ms. Anita, Ms. Hailee, and Ms. Samantha as workers who demonstrated genuine concern. The supervisors/directors made appearances to regulate and reinforce. However it is in my strong opinion better efforts are needed. Coaching and re-training dont always ensure quality care. Patients are coming to the hospital to get treated and any staff or service worker should focus on this goal. Lay aside your judgments and make no division. **Special note** Room was noticeably dirty ewe! Nurses can be nasty!

Horrible!!! I went last night with my son to the ER because he stuck something up his nose after being there for hours Dr. Jezyk, Robert came in our room and stuck a swab and a little spoon looking instrument up my sons nose (keep in mind we were pretty much restraining my 3 yr old son)all the Dr did was pick in his little nose and a whole bunch of blood just started pouring!! For him just to say he did not have nor see anything ...that what we were looking at was dried blood, and discharge us when the nurse Eric came in we were very upset and told him to give us the papers because we were leaving very upset to a different hospital because obiestly they were not doing anything helpful for us!! We looked up my sons nose with the nurse Eric and he even seen it but started acting nervous and he hurried up and gave us all the papers for us to leave!!! When we left we drove to Cypress Fairbanks we were there less then 20minutes in the waiting room when we got to our room the Dr was already waiting for us did not take him more then 5 minutes to take out a huge piece of foil my son had!!! I will never be returning to this hospital worst experience of my life!! I am putting one star because I have to if I could of put 0 I would because they dont deserve not even 1!!
