ER experience the worst .. nurse april should not be working for memorial hermann she is a disgrace for this hospital.. my 3 yr old son came in to my room in the early morninv hours of 2 am and with a croup cough and difficulty breathing and a wheezing sound with that being the first time i had that happen as a parent your first instinct he is going to suffocate you run to the emergency.. as i am leaving i noticed he is starting to get warm i give him ibuprofen. We enter the emergency at 3:10 am the staff at the front desk and the medical assistants were very helpful explaining how its goingvto take long but they will start with swab for flu and chest xray till a dr could see us.. they do so and when we finally get a room it was about 5:20 am my son is all fidgety wants to go home. The room was dirty with caps of sharps on the floor i even took pictures of the cleanliness this is infection control 101 u dont leave those kind of things lying around the room should be clean top to bottom how do i know the bed is clean?! As we are still waiting in the room noone literally noone comes to give us any updates or tell us welcome we will be with u shortly.. so i decided after a good half hr that if my son looks ok and they were not gonna complete the treatment then i wud just take him to his physician instead so as we were leaving the nurse eyeballs us and then asks ur leaving u wont wait on ur results?! I explained that noone came and told us there was results that there was a dr that there was another emergency u were tending to this is a child and he is tired and we are tired and its a few hrs and the dr office will be open i can call them, i also asked her how long the results take she said i dont know maybe 30 minutes but if u do the math since we took the xrays and swabs its been nearly Two hours !!!!!! Dr intervenes and tells us whats going on and he checks on my son and he is like yes he has cheat congestion etc... orders some things and in a few minutes we are receiving treatment and being discharged as the nurse come back again to explain the discharge she tells me that i need to have thermometer handy and she grabbed some and gave them to my husband and told me not tobriak bringing my child to an emergency becoz it is an infection risk for him !!! Now memorial hermann what do u tell such a nurse ?! I am a dentist and i know how this works and review is not the only thing i will leave ... i just hope she gets educated on ethics and goes do her exams again coz clearly she has no right to tell a patient not to come to the emergency room

If I could publish a negative rating I would. This is the worst hospital experience I have ever had. I have been to other Herman hospitals, and was treated with dignity and respect. I went to this facility, and was immediately admitted. The front end staff was awesome, however once I was in the er, it suddenly went down hill and fast. The hospital in my opinion treated me as trash. I couldnt get any meds. The excuse was always Ill ask the doctor. I also have COPD, and wasnt given any steroids or breathing treatment. I was in healthcare, and I wanted to report the physician to the board of medical examiners because of neglect, per their hippocatic oath. I havent done that as of yet. I also wanted to report this treatment to the joint commission, which regulates, or rather governs facilities. I made an attempt to talk to the ceo, and coo. But, they never bothered my my issues. They had a guy named Orlando, who never called me back when he said he would. However, the sent me a certified letter, which I didnt even care to read. Now for the good stuff. I was admitted to Kingwood hospital the next day, where I stayed one week. I cant even begin to compare the two facilities. Kingwood attended to me in a professional manner. The hospital and the staff where beyond excellent. By all means, unless it might be medically necessary to go northeast. I would avoid that place like a plague. Kingwood has been calling me with a guinuine concern about my well being. They will even call me next week to check on my condition. If at all possible, go to Kingwood. With the reputation Herman has, I never wouldve believed I would have been neglected like that. I dont plan on escalating this any further. I just hope potential patients read this and make the decision to go Kingwood. I have no affiliations with either hospital. It just my medical background tells me northeast is a bad place. If I where greedy, Id hire an attorney, and pursue this to the fullest. However, God bless you dont need er service, but with strong emphasis go to Kingwood if at all possible.

ER Emergency turned to smiles Last night I took my significant other to the Emergency Room at Memorial Hermann Northeast Hospital. Immediatly upon entering the ER, the man behind the counter was quick to take our information and have us take a seat. Before we had a chance to get comfortable they were already calling my girlfriends name! The administrator lady taking our begining information was very kind and courtious and even got us a wheel chair and a Nurse at the first sign of pain. We were taken to an examination room immediatly following the initial questions where several very polite and professional nurses took more information and started conducting tests. We were even asked if we wanted to take a free HIV/AIDS test since they were going to have to take blood anyways. It is wonderful they not only provide that service but inform everyone about it. The nurse who took the blood was a friendly man who knew how to poke a needle and hit his mark the first stick. He was very friendly and made us laugh and feel more comfortable. All the nurses were wonderful and very attentive. Even one we initially thought was cold hearted turned out to be one of the nicest nurses there. She was very very professional and got pain medication as soon as we requested it, one time hunting down a doctor to help with what kind of pain medication to try next since the first didnt seem to do much. They checked everything they could and helped us immensely. When we were leaving my Girlfriend wanted to know who the nurses were on call that night and see who had treated her so maybe we can send them flowers or thank you cards. The lady at the Discharge Office didnt know exactally who worked on her and could have done nothing but instead she got up and got all the nurses on duty to write their names down on a get well soon card. I have been to a lot of emergency rooms before and this is one of the best Ive seen. They went above and beyond my expectations and Im highly recommending everyone to go there and use their ER if you are in the area.

I have had the WORST experiences here. We have always come to this hospital, but the last few years, the bed side manor and overall attitude of the nurses & staff have been AWFUL. One of the most recent times - we brought my mom in, and she sat in the waiting room for around 8-9 hours before being seen at all. Once we talked to the "manager", he had a million reasons as to why it was "normal" to wait this long. Even though her issue is something that needed to be handled in a timely manner. Only after my sister threatened to call a news station and let them know how the hospital was handling patients and the wait time, did she get in - 10 minutes later. Ironic, right?! The time before that, we had her in for dehydration, and when she asked the male nurse for a drink - his response was "I told you that you can not have a drink. But if you want to die - go ahead and have a drink. " I was SHOCKED that he said that the way he did. She didnt need a drink, but being a human - when shes thirsty - she asked, and the awful response made me want to take her somewhere else. And if she wasnt as bad off as she was - I would have. Even after speaking with the person in charge of the ER at the time - nothing was done and the nurse continued his shift. Totally inappropriate. We have since started going to Conroe Regional and have had AMAZING results with them. We will continue to use Conroe and would recommend anyone looking for good bed side manor and good attitudes - not visit MH hospital.
