I went in for a rib problem (maybe a rib head out of place) and I was given an absolutely unnecessary series of pops/cracks/lasers that did absolutely nothing for my rib. Heres the general rundown: 1st Visit - X-rays. "Your spines out of whack. Thatll fix the ribs." No... I had an impact injury to my ribs... thats what messed the ribs up. Lay on your front, tons of back popping. Lay on your back, crack my neck in an outrageous way. Then... the best part... lay down on this massage table and let me shoot a red laser beam at your chest. 2nd Visit - Back popping, neck cracking, table and red laser. 3rd Visit - Back popping, neck cracking, table and red laser. I stopped there because my rib essentially healed itself after two weeks of hurting through it. To make things worse? I have terrible neck pain now. Ive never had neck pain before, but now I deal with it daily. Id probably look to some sort of legal suit if I thought that I could prove this is where my neck pain started. To make things worse? The assistant "checked" on my insurance and told me that Id be completely covered after my $40 specialist co-pay. A month later, my insurance company sends me the bill for all of the treatments not covered by insurance. They were billing BCBS about $325-$400 every time I stepped into the office on top of my $40 co-pay. I ended up paying another $250 for my three visits. I would absolutely not recommend Mountain Health to anybody.

We absolutely love Dr Shepherd. We found him a few months ago when we were desperately looking for answers. My 15 yr old had constant pain in her wrists to the point where she couldnt even hold a pencil. Wed been to an orthopedic, physical therapy, a pain doctor. They couldnt find anything wrong and called it chronic pain and tried injections in the spine. She had some relief with that but it didnt last long so they wanted to start doing them every week. I refused and started looking for answers somewhere else. Dr Shepherd was the first to find a cause for the pain. As hes worked with her shes done better and better. She isnt completely pain free yet but I think she will be soon. She loves going to him because hes so fun and kind. When I saw how well she was doing I started going to him for neck pain and Im amazed at how much better I feel. He also seems so knowledgeable about anything and everything Ive asked him about and Ive had many questions as weve gone through this process. I totally trust him and feel hes a great doctor.

Ive been going to Dr. Shepherd for 6 years. I am happy to share that he is truly interested in natural healing, starting with finding the root cause of a health-related issue. In the past, I have been to other chiropractors and medical doctors who are just interested in treating symptoms, which is easy enough to do and provides for instant relief. However, this doesnt help for the long term. Not everyone responds the same way to the same treatment plans either. Dr. Shepherd is amazing at figuring out what works for the individual, and sets up a customized treatment plan. He really listens to his patients so that he has a full understanding of what is going on. Yes, Ive been going to Dr. Shepherd for several years, but after my initial treatment program with him, there have been long gaps between visits. He got me feeling better and able to do my normal activities again. Now I only make "maintenance" appointments to keep my alignment in check. An amazing and wonderful doctor!

My family and I have been seeing Dr. Shepherd for almost 10 years. I lived with chronic back pain for years before finding relief with Dr. Shepherd. He taught me that regular chiropractic adjustments would keep my body healthier and stronger, and not to just wait until the pain was intolerable. I would not have survived my pregnancy without Dr. Shepherd. My daughter started getting treatments 1 week after she was born via C-section, shes had regular adjustments for the past 6 years and is one of the healthiest children I know. I can count on one hand the number of times shes been sick, outside of the occasional cold and allergies, even while growing up in daycare. Our family loves Dr. Shepherd and the staff at Mountain Health!

I began seeing Dr. Shepherd in August 2013. I was looking for a chiropractor that did NET (Neuro Emotional Technique) and I am thrilled with my treatments! I really did not know what to expect but I can tell you that he has worked miracles with me. His treatments have released a lot of bound energy that was trapped in my body from childhood trauma. I do not believe in traditional medicine as most doctors simply give you a pill to mask a symptom - a pill that can have horrible side effects. There are no pills with nasty side effects at Dr. Shepherds office. Just a wonderful staff of people who truly care and can set you on a natural path to health and well being.

My family has been using chiropractic as our primary form of wellness for 3 decades so we have been to several in various places we have lived. Dr. Shepherd is the most well rounded we have found. His expertise on nutrition and general whole body health and balance is astounding. I recently was in a car accident. I knew I had whip lash but I refused the ambulance. I called Dr. Shepherd first thing in the morning, he made room for me and started my care. No chemicals, no braces. Ive fully recovered and Im feeling fine but I still maintain my regular chiropractic care with Dr. Shepherd.

I have been seeing Dr. Sheppard since he took over the practice. I can without reservation highly recommend him for both chiropractic care and nutritional counseling. I had back surgery in my mid-20s due to disc herniation and I wish I had known him 20+ years ago. He provides exceptional preventative care that keeps my back in alignment even with the great amount of travel I do for the job. I can definitely tell when I have gone too long and the back pain occurs. In addition, his nutritional counseling has helped immensely especially with me being on the road weeks at a time.

I have been going to Dr. Shepherd for 6 weeks. A friend of mine recommended him. He is working on the causes of the back pain, rather then just making me feel good. His treatments are gentle, but effective and uses many tools to loosen and strengthen me up. He does not push things for you to do or try, unless you ask about them. I like that he does what he recommends and that he is a nutritionist also. I am hoping to get out of the cycle of getting fixed, then waiting until I have too much pain and going in for more adjustments. The staff is super and very helpful.

Dr. Shepherd is the best chiropractor in Dallas. I first visited him in 2009 when I hurt my back so bad I could hardly breathe from the pain because of a pinched nerve. He agreed to see me first thing on that visit and after he adjusted my back I felt awesome. I refer him to all of my friends and family. If you have back or neck pain, don’t let some doctor cut in to you and put metal screws in your spine. Call Dr. Shepherd. He is very nice and knows what he is doing. You will be so glad you called. Thank you Dr. Shepherd you are the best!!!!!!!!!
