Do not take your pet here unless you plan on spending BIG money. It is a huge clean place but boy do they charge you for it. My Jack Russel was attacked by two large dogs and had severe injuries. I rushed her there because it was the closest place. What a mistake I made! They charged me $80 just to look at her. Then they handed me a paper with a bunch of medical procedures written on it and at the bottom, it had an estimate of $1700. Like most people, I didnt have that kind of money and they basiclly said that they couldnt help me unless I could pay. I was told that I should just put her down because they couldnt help me. What kind of a supposed "animal loving" vet would let a dog die because of the owners ability to pay??? We finally came up with an agreement that they would keep her over night, give her antibiotics and pain medication and clean her wounds for $350. No stitches no nothing! The next day was a sunday and we picked her up and she was bandaged well. We knew we wouldnt be able to find help until monday so our goal for the night was to just keep her alive. We took her to a Vet on hwy 281 and Marshal Rd in a little blue house. They were amazing. We showed the vet the estimate from the EPC and he said none of those procedures neede to be done. All she needed was to be stitched up and given medication. Given that it was 36 hours after the trama he was unable to stitch her but he showed us how to care for the wounds and gave us the right dose of antibiotics (EPC gave us too low of a dose) and pain medication. He charged us only $110 for everything! He said we shouldnt have ever been asked to pay more than $400 for stitches and the medication. But now because EPC wouldnt help us my dog will have a softball size hole in her chest for as long as she lives......that is if she survives!

UPDATE- this hospital is now under investigation by the Texas Board of Veterinary Examiners for their conduct that I posted on here that is listed below. I took my pet to this facility on February 27, 2016. I even called ahead of time to inform that I was on the way. I arrived, carrying my very sick dog in my arms. Upon arrival there was not anyone at the front desk. Then a lady appeared and I told her who I was. After after waiting for over and hour and being denied treatment for my dog that was having difficulty breathing, I picked up my dog and left as fast as I could for another emergency facility. So I lost over an hour of valuable time. My dog died a few hours later after I had to leave him at the other facility. I am just devasted and so is his brother, they have been together for over 9 years. This was NOT called for. This operation needs to be shut down by the State of Texas. It is outrageous when you have an emergency and they ignore you. A dr. called me several hours later and told me she was sorry for the confusion. What confusion could there be when you are not seen by the vet. The State of Texas needs to investigate this facility immediately and perhaps fine it or suspend its license. I highly recommend that you stay away from this facility at Sonterra. Its NOT a real emergency facility if they are not going to take care of you when you really have an emergency. I see that others have recently complained about their actions. This is total negligence and deceptive and fraudulent conduct.

Do not take your pet here. (Broadway location) We took our cat, he had a urinary blockage, on a Sunday, and had to seek emergency care. The assistant who did the initial examination was more of a used car saleswoman than a nurse. She went into her salespitch immediately, detailing all the things that could go wrong, and suggesting that we purchase "the bundle" for only $1138 which would cover all these terrible scenarios. If we were to purchase all of these procedures "a la carte" it would really be expensive. I kid you not, she actually said "a la carte." She also offered to help us set up a line of credit. How nice. We refused all of this invaluable advice, and they finally said they could do the "bare bones" procedure, just enough to maybe keep him alive, but we would have to get him out by 7:30 the next AM (or else they charge you more), to take him to a regular vet. They put in a catheter, (not a good one, we found out later), and gave him an IV. This only cost $700, which had to paid in advance. This place will drain you for every cent you have if they can, and more if you let them. I will never set foot in that place again, and I strongly advice everyone else to stay away too.

Unless your pet is on the verge of death do not take him/her here -- there is a emergency clinic on 410 & Perrin Beitel Ive been to if you have something that requires immediate attention. I took my dog here because she had been throwing-up and had blood in here stool. The vet came in looked at here a little and came back with a cost estimate of almost $1000!!! It was ALL business for these people and they truly do PREY ON WORRYING PET OWNERS. My main concern was that she was going to be alright until morning (when our vet was open). The lady was continually trying to guilt me in to their services and they even had me sign a contract releasing them of liability if something was to happen to my dog (are you f*ing kidding me?!?). When I went to my vet in the morning and my total bill was less than $300 for the same services PLUS some food and meds. This place is a joke and I wish I had read the reviews on here before I went to them. Save yourself the $$$ and DO NOT go here.

Professional, reasonable price for 2:00 AM holiday weekend emergency pet care. Drove here from Del Rio at 2:00 AM on Friday night of Labor Day weekend with dog showing neurological symptoms. The wait was pretty long for that time of day, but the (very friendly and pretty knowledgeable) receptionist said it was an unusually busy night. Techs were all friendly and professional; the vet took plenty of time with my dog, answered any questions I had and didnt seem to be B.S-ing me or pushing for expensive treatments. Diagnosed distemper, explained why she arrived at that, and offered a few different options. AT NO TIME did I feel like this was simply a money-making business...I walked out of there with a diagnostic fee, anti-bacterial ointment for conjunctivitis, and some pills to help with pain/anxiety. Total was $145. Based on my experience, you shouldnt hesitate to use this clinic if you think your pet cant wait until the weekday to see your normal vet.

Strongly suggest you take your pets elsewhere, our dog came out of there in worst shape then when we took her in, resulting in a return visit the very next day. They honestly do not care, its all about the money here. Test after test, more money, and still never had a diagnosis. When it was time to take our dog home not to mention the tech carried her out to us with her tongue hanging out completely sedated, we thought she was dead!!! 14 hours later our dog was finally able to get up and walk!!! When I asked to speak to whomever was in charge, the most obnoxious man called me days later, was dismissive, rude, and a complete liar. I ended up hanging up, never have I dealt with anyone that horrible let alone a person that is supposed to be caring for animals. It was all about the money and tests. By the way they never did figure out what was wrong with our dog. All they did was "rule things out" Our dog did much better away from this place!!!
