I am glad to know Dr. Riley and would like to share a few things about my case and todays experience. I came to New Heights Dental in May 2015 because I had not been keeping up with my professional cleanings or examinations. I returned to Dr. Rileys office in June 2015 and again this morning, January 26, 2017. I like their check-in process. It is efficient. I had no long forms to fill out, and after I gave the receptionist my name, I waited less than 10 minutes before being called. Both receptionists were bright, friendly, and asked to get me a cup of coffee. However, when the receptionist brought me my coffee, I had no time to drink it. My Hygienist, Chanda, called my name, and it was time for my cleaning. I was happy. I told Chanda that I was looking forward to my visit. Since I am a smoker, it is very important to me to have a fresh, clean feeling. After my cleaning, Chanda used a baking soda spray. I understand this polishing system to remove stains and debris from my teeth. It works great. I really like the results. She also performed my first oral screening for cancer. Chanda is excellent! Next, I had a set of x-rays taken, and Dr. Riley was called to do my patient examination. Dr. Rileys bedside manner was so welcoming. He was focussed on my dental care. He asked me questions and listened to me. He identified a partial filling that needed some work. No anesthetic was necessary to fix my filling. I felt no discomfort. Finally, I like to communicate with the dentists office using their on-line services. I use this feature to confirm my appointments. When I have needed to change my appointment, DeeDee gladly makes the change without any hassles. I prefer morning time appointments, and they have convenient business hours. They are open late during the week and open Saturdays.

I initially had a great experience, but after referring my fiance to the same dentist, my opinion has completely changed. The front desk staff is still wonderful and helpful. They are always a pleasure. However, when my fiance went in, his first appointment went well. Dr Gomez was very understanding about his teeth and we discussed the role that genetics plays in oral health and made a plan to help my fiance with his teeth. Dr. Gomez didnt bother showing up for the extraction appointment and Dr. Riley stepped in. After 3 hours, nothing had been done on his teeth and they sent us home and said there was nothing they could do for him. Dr. Gomez rescheduled and on the day of the extraction, the number of tooth extractions paid for did not equate to the number of teeth extracted. We were also told there was no way to save his teeth and he should resign himself at 26 to having all of his teeth pulled. On the next visit when he was still in pain, Dr. Gomez called him a meth head and said it was obvious he was on drugs, etc. My fiance is a firefighter and is drug tested on a regular basis. How dare this man accuse him of being a drug addict when there are literally 0 signs of him being one and he has an extremely comprehensive dental history at his fingertips. At that point we decided to never go back to castle heights. They are just looking for ways to get money out of you. Oh, and keep in mind that if you decide to switch dentists, that castle heights practically refuses to provide your records to your new dentist. We had to get all new xrays done. Luckily, our new dentist didnt charge us because he recognized it wasnt out fault.

I found NHD online and went in for a regular cleaning and check up. Everyone was nice and accommodating, and I didnt have to wait long for my appointment. Dr. Riley informed me I had a few cavities that needed filling, so we scheduled a time to make that happen. Unfortunately, after getting this work done, my teeth did not recover like they normally should have, and I had to return to NHD four different times for "emergency appointments" to try to fix the pain. All of which, my insurance was charged for. At one point, they suggested I might need a root canal to fix the damage done by their own work. Eventually, I visited another dentist to get a second opinion. He was able to fix the problem and get rid of the pain (by redoing nearly every single filling Id had done at NHD), which made me wonder why NHD couldnt manage the apparently simple repairs even after 4 tries. Overall, Im just very dissatisfied with the inconvenience and work I got at NHD. Dr. Riley and his staff were always very pleasant and helpful -- Dr. Riley even answered a call from me over the Thanksgiving holiday when I needed him to call in a prescription -- but I just cant in good conscience recommend this business to others.

I am so glad I searched for a dentist on Yelp and found New Heights Dental! Today was my third visit for a crown and it went well. My second visit to this establishment was for three fillings, the first was for x-rays, an exam and a dental cleaning. New Heights Dental has a really contemporary design, beautiful decor, comfortable and very clean. As a music lover, I LOVE the contemporary music they play instead of the usual BORING elevator music heard in most dental offices. I am super excited to return to their office for braces next week. On a side note: they offer a program for patients who do not have dental insurance which I think is really clever and helpful during these times. All of my visits have been wonderful and the staff is friendly. There is a very short wait for your appointment, you get in and get out but dont feel rushed at all. All of the assistants are sweet and Dr. Riley is very caring and personable. His passion for his profession is really evident in his work. If youre in the San Antonio area, dont hesitate to give them your business. Ive had a lot of dental work done in my lifetime and hes by far my most favorite dentist.

Dr. Riley and his staff are amazing! I have never felt so comfortable in a dental office. I have always been scared to go to the dentist that it took me over 10 years to find an office that i actually look forward to going to. They have awesome music, nice and relaxing chairs with massagers and the staff and Dr. Riley are always laughing and having a good time, you can really tell everyone loves their jobs at this place. The greatest thing is that they have this machine that makes your crown that same day!! Since i had not been to the dentist in over 10 years i needed 3 crowns and instead of having multiple appointment and have to take a bunch of time off work, they gave me a pill that relaxed me and they made all the crowns i needed in just a few hours. (i slept the entire time so i didnt really feel anything). New Heights Dental has a patient for life and i look forward to my check up in 6 months. Thanks for giving me my smile back!

I wanted to take a moment to thank Dr. Riley and his amazing team at New Heights Dental. I have been a patient at New Heights Dental for over three years now and I have never been disappointed with any of the services that they have provided me. I am always greeted with a smile when I walk in the door and promptly take into the back at my appointment time. I recently had my braces removed that Dr. Riley and his team oversaw from beginning to end. I am very pleased with the results and I tell everyone I can that Dr. Riley and his team at new Heights dental are the best in San Antonio. Whether youre needing a routine cleaning or you need something more complicated such as braces this is the place to go. I refer my friends because I know they will be in the best hands and will receive the best dental services possible at New Heights Dental.
