I have been seeing Dr. Tisdall for about 2 years now with a major back problem. During the 1st year I was extremely pleased with my care. More importantly it really seemed that the doctor cared and was concerned about making progress toward healing. Recently, however, it seems I have been put on the bench. Now, it is extremely unlikely to actually see the doctor. Instead, I get to see his PA for my care, which in my option does not even come close to the same level of care. Today (7/2/13) was really an eye opener though. I had an appointment (with a written appointment card), when I arrived the receptionist informed me that they re-scheduled my appointment for June 26 (6 days ago) and they were not going to be able to see me today. I asked how this was possible, when I had never been contacted (which the office staff confirmed). Unfortunately, the appointment was to have the doctor re-fill my prescriptions (which I will run out of this week). Come to find out, Dr. Tisdall was going to be out for the rest of the week, and of course the PA could not sign the need re-fills. Better yet, I was told I may or may not be seen the next week. As many back patients know, some of the medications state that you should not skip or stop taking them without a doctors permission. I asked what I should do when I run out and the receptionist told me that I should go to the emergency room. Truly unbelievable. Just knowing Dr. Tisdall from two years ago, I wonder if he even knows how some of his patients are being treated, or maybe I was just a fool for thinking he cared in the first place. I hope this finds and helps anyone researching.

I am posting this on my wifes google account of my experience with this SELF RIGHTEOUS so called Physician ( mind you they have a license to PRACTICE medicine,."...you practice riding a bicycle NOT medicine ). Moving to Texas I had to get a new pain management doctor. After waiting 45 minutes after my appointment time, and being in the patient room for just 10 minutes, this man looked at my past prescriptions that I had brought with me (have been on SSI Disability and the meds on and off for more than 17 years due to a bad motorcycle accident and multiple surgeries) this so called Doctor called me a DRUG TRAFFICKER! Prescribed me anti-psychotic and restless leg meds(for pain ,big bucks,Kickback?) and sent me to another room for x-Rays to see if anything had moved in my spinal fusion (over 200.00 that insurance didnt cover ) when I had my original x-rays with me and he never even looked at them. BE WARNED its all about the bucks here, not patient comfort or satisfaction. I would not let my pet rat be seen by this guy if it were in pain! You have to read the other reviews before you schedule an appointment with him.I have filed appeals with my insurance so they can be re-embursed and am seriously considering filing a complaint with the Texas Board of Physicians.Thank God I found a pain management doctor that looked up my past history on a national drug database and saw what I have been prescribed and actually cares about what Im going thru and didnt judge me immediately like this doctor did and is actually discussing options available to me.

I have been a patient at Spine & Joint Pain Specialists for over three years now, and Dr. Tisdall and crew were certainly not the first PM doctor I saw after moving to San Antonio in 2013. The only time I really interact directly with Dr. Tisdall is when I receive injections or go in for outpatient ablation procedures, and I am perfectly fine with that. I have the pleasure of being seen by P.A. Reed. Dont let those two letters in front of his name throw you. He is, by far one of the best PM doctors charged with my care. He knows as much about me as I know about him; he always greets me with a firm handshake and has a calm, self-confident (but not so much that his ego leads him around), demeanor that sets you at ease as soon as he enters the examination room. The goal of this office is to allow its patients to regain as much of their quality of life as possible, and they are more of a partner with you in making long-term decisions for operations, procedures, therapy, and the management of your pain. My health will most likely only continue to degrade as I age, and knowing that, I am grateful to have found this group of doctors to help me through whatever comes next.

Really long story short.... These doctors dont care about you. It has been years since I have been to them, but didnt want other people to have to suffer as I did (and it seems like many others). They only care about money and getting you in and out as quickly as possible. They just kept pushing prescriptions on me with no care of how to actually help me. The PA and Dr never listened to me or my husband when he would have to call in on my behalf. Dr Tisdall was supposed to do a nerve block but ended up puncturing my epidural space. I ended up getting an epidural leak with a major epidural migraine and he refused to take responsibility for it. I ended up in the ER multiple times due to this, and he never would call the doctors in the ER back so they could consult with him on their findings or consult with him on medications I was on. He later sent me off to a neurologist who confirmed it was an epidural leak and even then still refused to take responsibility. There is a lot more to the story and many more things that happened, but I just needed to say if you are actually looking for a doctor who cares then youd be better off with someone else.

This place became my refuge from pain. I have suffered from chronic pain located in my back that spiralad out through my neck and extremities for years. I suffered from several falls a month. For the past two years the pain was daily without ceasing and at times debilitating where I could not turn over in bed without my husbands assistance. I had reached the point where I didnt know what it felt like to not be in pain. My first visit to see Dr. Doll I was using a walker and fighting back tears with every step… I had no quality of life at all which broke my heart because I still have two young children. Three weeks later I was chasing my terrior around the house and playing fetch with him. I could run up and down our stairs in our house, hang out with my daughter at the mall with her friends again, take them to see a movie and be able to sit up, the list goes on and on. No cane, no walker… NO PAIN!! ! Im sorry for those of you that the treatments and procedures did not work for, but they do work. Im living proof.

Doctor Tisdall and his practice, is composed of caring, professional, and compassionate medical staff. Ive been a patient for over 3 years and couldnt be happier with the care that Ive received while under their treatment. From the doctors, to the physician assistants and nurses; they have treated me with personalized and professional care. I highly recommend anyone with chronic pain or other issues to visit his practice, and see what they can do for you. My life has been changed, and turned for the better due to their care. I have visited many doctors over the years due to medical issues to get my pain under control, and couldnt reach a goal of pain free or a tolerable and productive life. With the staff here, my life has been enriched, and I have become more productive than I was before visiting the clinic. Finding a kind, compassionate, and understanding doctor and other clinical staff presented a challenge until visiting the practice - but I found everything I could ask for after searching for a long time.
