This review is for the urgent care facility only. They are terrible! I am a veteran of the Navy and my husband is active Navy and we have never experienced such an unorganized and inconsiderate military urgent care facility. First off, they dont see children under the age of 2...thats ridiculous, they sent us away when my 18 month old (at the time - at the beginning of the year) had a fever of 101. We have never heard of that and were quite surprised to be given a piece of paper that lists civilian emergency hospitals. But thats not why Im writing this review. This is why... Our 6 year old son fell and injured his foot at the park on 7/3, he couldnt walk so we took him into Wilford Hall urgent care. He got his vitals and X-rays done within 45 minutes, but that is it. We were there in total for 4 hours; once the X-rays were done, we waited another 30 minutes for a doctor to come in and ask questions. Now she came in and said, "I didnt see anything in his X-rays but we need a radiologist to confirm"...okay fine, but then she said, "we dont have a radiologist here at this facility, only at SAMMC and they are completely backed up today due to other traumas"...okay fine, "well have to wait for them to translate the X-rays and get back to us, but the wait will be a while, do get comfortable." Almost 3 hours later of just waiting there and not being acknowledged or checked on, I finally said something. The decision then, after me saying something, was that the doc will just send us home with a boot for our son and theyll give us a call once the X-rays are read WITHIN 24 hours (they said.) Weeeeeeell...in conclusion from that experience was that we didnt know if our son either sprained, strained, or fractured his foot first off and also, if they knew we were going to be waiting for THAT long, the doctor should have told us the X-rays would NOT be read that day and to suggest we go somewhere out in town; even the nurse who gave my son the boot said, "we have someone across the hall whos been waiting here for 6 hours." Wait what?! Hell no, thats ridiculous. We were there for almost 4 hours in total for them to just send us home with no diagnosis? A shame, they shouldnt have kept us there that long, and to make it worse, STILL no phone call from them and it is 7/5. Weve already been to another urgent care (civilian) so we really arent concerned with hearing from them, but thats not the point. It shouldnt take this long for anyone to read a few X-rays and give the patient a phone call back with a few words. People, DO NOT go to this urgent care, you WILL get better care and professionalism at Little Spurs pediatric urgent care (for your kids) or Texan urgent care for yourself...they both take Tricare. We live on base here at Lackland and thought we were so lucky to be down the street from urgent care but no, that facility is garbage and well no longer go there. We will leave the base from now on for urgent and emergency care at a civilian facility. Sad and pathetic.

After 2 procedures on Mon 15 June I had to go visit the Urgent Care Center at Willford Hall, Lackland on Tues 16 June. I was dehydrated due to procedures, chronic vomiting, and headache. We were taken right in, accessed by Nurse Miranda and talked with Lt Col (Dr) Porchia. I had 2 bags of fluids with anti nausea meds and a pain reliever for my head. Dr. Porchia asked about the results from my procedures the day prior and one I could not answer. He called upstairs to GI to find out the result for me. I want to commend the care that I received from the Urgent Care Center team. They were all professional, caring and just very nice. I would recommend using UCC to any family based at Lackland. Thank you, SMCK

Its a good facility with quality family care. Never been to the Urgent Care, but the lines are typically backed up and many recommend going elsewhere. Another minor problem is that this place is confusing to navigate, with few signs. The front desk is helpful though to find your way around!

My girlfriend was born here 18 years ago. Her and her mother both survived. I hear from her dad that they had a nice football game playing in the room during labor. So I guess they have to be doing something right.

Nothing urgent about the care here. You might as well go to a civilian ER or if youre a service member, SAMMC ER. Anytime Ive had to take my kids for something its empty and yet will still take us hours!

The new building is open, bright, and clean. Im sure there are a couple of "bugs " that need to be ironed out. The staff is friendly and helpful.
