Last year at my previous eye doctor, they informed me that they would now start charging a “contact lens evaluation fee” starting next year. So as I had not been charged this fee ever before, I decided to change eye doctors. I looked up places around Magna, as that is where I live, and found this place. I called them and asked specifically if they charged a fee on top of insurance for eye exams, they told me that they did not. So I made an appointment and went in for it. During my exam, Dr. Larsen asked why I was changing doctors. I explained about the fee they would start charging, he then explained that everywhere charges that fee and what that fee would cover and such. We got done with the exam and I went to get my prescription printed from the front. That is when I was told that my total amount would be $65.00 (20 of it was from some sort of eye x-ray machine which was optional, so I did know about that part). The 65 still shocked me, so I asked why there was a fee since I had called and asked specifically about that. I was told that the fee is the “contact lens evaluation fee.” Needless to say, I was not happy about it. So what did I do? Ran right home and wrote a nasty review on them. Yeah that will show them! Well the next day, I got a phone call from Dr. Larsen personally. He had seen my review and wanted to address it. He apologized for the miscommunication and explained that he thought that when he was explaining the fee to me, when we were talking about my previous doctor, that he was saying that they were going to still charge that fee. And I probably would have picked up on that if not for the phone call where I was told that there would not be a fee. So I already had it in my head that there would be no fee. Another part of my review that was address was that the fee does not change based on what they give you for trials. He gave me a 5 day supply of daily wears, some solution and different pair of contacts to try. I thought this was all factoring into the evaluation fee. Well turns out those do not factor in at all. I was extremely mad when I left there yesterday, and also very mad when I wrote my initial review. After talking with Dr. Larsen about it, I not mad anymore. I am still frustrated about the miscommunication with the fee, but it sounds like that would have happened no matter where I went for my exam. We will see how this new prescription works and if I like the daily wears or not… In the end though, this is not a bad place to go. It is a neat small business in Magna with some pretty advanced equipment. If you plan on going here and have questions about anything, be it fees, your insurance, fitting fees, or even how the insurance works with them, call them and talk to them about it. Dr. Larsen was very transparent (pun) when I talked to him on the phone the next day. I am still a little weary that my new contact prescription is less in my left eye than it was before, but I was told that it is because it was over corrected before and my eye just needs to get used to the new prescription. I will keep them in though and see what happens. Kudos to Dr. Larsen for calling me. It show me that he does really care about his patients and wants them to be satisfied.

Went in with dry eye problems. Glasses retailer places usually throw an eyedrop at it. Not really their fault, they just dont have the equipment to find out why. Dr. Larsen has the equipment to find out why. He was honest and open with me. He could have just done all the tests and charged me and I wouldnt have known the difference but he talked to me about it and told me which tests might be helpful. He did those tests and found out why my eyes were so dry. He told me which eye drops would do the most good. He gave me a plan to address the problem. My eyes feel much better now. Still a little dry once in a while but still improving. I no longer wake up feeling like my eyes are full of sand every morning and its great! The front desk staff are courteous and helpful, always open to any questions or concerns and if they dont know the answer they find out. Nice to see customer service is alive and well. Thank you everyone at Magna Family Eyecare. Ill be back.

I appreciated everything about my visit. It was refreshing to be treated with attention and actual care to my individual needs. They have an excellent new building and state of the art equipment. I felt comfortable in the hands of the staff and Doctor. They were very friendly and very helpful from the time I first entered the clinic to time I recieved my eye exam. They were able to handle my specific needs without a fuss or additional expectations. I would highly recommend them to others and will come back again. They cheerly and expertly handled my additional concerns and handled every correction to my full satisfaction. Not only was Magna Family Eyecare professional in everyway, but they went the extra mile to make everything work out just right for my eye care needs. Thank you.

I have been going to Dr Larsen since he first opened his business in Magna, Utah and have had nothing but a wonderful and positive experience for the past ten years! When I was short on cash for my glaucoma meds he would help me out, when I ran out of my prescription and needed an appointment they got me the prescription and got me in right away, they are always there to help you out however they can. I have referred tons of friends and family to him and everyone that has gone there has had nothing but wonderful things to say about him and his staff as well!

I took my two children to see Dr Larsen because they were able to accomodate both children at the same time which I appreciated greatly. The staff was amazing. I am not sure who we saw first, but he spent about an hour with the kids and was VERY professional and kept both children at ease. They were actually excited with all the equipment and he let them know it wasnt scary. Dr Larsen was also very professional and courteous. Thank you Magna Family Eyecare. I know that my daughter has the right prescription now.

We love Dr. Larsen and his staff! They are friendly, professional and have responded after hours with emergencies! My kids have all needed glasses and play water sports, and Dr. Larsen helped us acquire CRT lenses (hard lenses that my kids sleep in and they temporarily correct vision so nothing else needed during day). This has changed their ability to enjoy swimming and water polo and has halted the deterioration of their myopia. Fantastic optical care!

I have been looking for an eye doctor since mine retired and I was fairly impressed with Dr. Larsen and his staff. I had a very professional and extensive eye exam and every procedure was explained. I will take my family to this clinic and recommend it to others. I had a problem with my insurance and they were very sympathetic and helpful. I did not feel pressured to buy eyeglasses I could not afford and felt that my opinion was valued.
