Such a great facility. I walked in with my dog who looked like she was on the brink of death. The doctor was so throughout. He truly admitted that he couldnt tell what was wrong with her jut by looking at her. I understood that because there were no obvious signs to her ailment. He, himself was worried about her. He informed me that she needed to have blood work done. He let me know if he didnt find anything wrong with her that way, that there was a series of tests that needed to be done. He took her back immediately and treated her like she was the most important animal there. The nurse didnt know exactly how much it would cost. She gave me an estimate that only varied $100. I understand things happen in the back that I know nothing about. That being the whole reason I take my animals to the vet. I dont necessarily know why it costs as much as it does to have an animal be seen by a vet , but it is in very close comparison to when a person goes in to see a doctor. The prices are high. He called me immediately and told me that the blood-work showed no signs of any illness. He quickly asked permission to do an immediate ultrasound, due to what seemed her deteriorating health. The nurse once again let me know an estimate of the costs. My dog is big and I get that sometimes she requires more work than a small dog (equaling more money). He then called me immediately with her results. Letting me know the test was inconclusive. I picked her up and he told me he would like to conduct the ultrasound again FREE of charge as soon as they opened the next morning, so that he could make sure that he didnt miss anything. I brought her back in the morning, they took her right back. The test was again inconclusive, all while my dog is almost too sick to walk. He took me into a waiting room and told me how important this issue was to him and how badly he really wanted to figure this mystery out. I could not have asked for anything more than that, finally a doctor that treated my dog like it was his own. He then asked if he could take some x-rays of her. The nurse came in and told me what the estimated cost was and she was spot on. The doctor called me after the x-rays were done and with a very upbeat tone. He finally had figured out what was wrong with my dog, and why it made sense that he didnt find anything earlier. I went to pick up my dog, and I was so elated! She was back to her old self, they were so throughout in explaining her medication to me and talking about it as long as I needed. It ended up costing $900 Yes, thats a lot of money in a few short days. Bu,t we knew going in it could be expensive. This wasnt a quick fix. Im from Nevada, and I will tell you, compared to the vet costs out there Timpanogos Animal Hospital was very comparable. He isnt a dog pound, where you might be able to get mediocre cheap care for your animal. Those tests, the doctors time and the time of his employees arent cheap. It is what it is, so for those of you who were upset about his prices I completely understand your disappointment, but dont give the doctor a bad name for it. It isnt his responsibility to lower his prices according the every customers specific monetary situations. I could have gotten those tests done anywhere else for the same price, but I promise I may not have been able to find the same care and one on one attention that he gave my dog, anywhere else. I will definitely recommend this animal hospital and will continue to take my dogs there.

I have taken my Labrador Named "Maverick" here since he was a pup. I got a recommendation for this vet from another dog owner. So I actually drive past two or three vets to go to this one. They always take good care of Maverick. They have a nice and professional office. The vets dont mind spending extra time after the checkups to talk to me and answer all the questions I have. Reading other reviews people on here say that they are overpriced. This is WAY wrong. I think those people must normally go to non profit clinics if they think that they are being charged too much here because that is one thing I love about this place is that their prices are reasonable. A checkup is $65 I think. Thats not bad at all. The medications I have been given in the past range between $10-$20 which is fair in my opinion. in fact one time I checked out and had a few vaccinations and they told me I only owed $68. I was like "really"? Thats very cheap if you have been to a legitimate vet before. Again if you are used to tAking them to a clinic you are probably used to paying $20. But you arent getting the expertise and resources that are available here. The last thing I will say is that I have called this vet several times on the phone and spoke to a technician for free. That makes my normal prices an even better deal. One time my dog at 3 pounds of protein bars and the technician on the phone went onto the website off protein bar company and looked up the ingredients of all the bars to see if anything was poisonous. She determined that it wasnt. She offered to pump his stomach but said it wasnt necessary. He would just hAve diarrhea for 3 days. Avoiding ruining my carpet and three nights of peaceful sleep for a $70 vet visit is a no brainer in my book. I took him down and they helped right away and he was all better. Several times when I called and spoke to a tech I didnt need to come in and never saw a bill for their advice. One time Maverick ate a dead bird. The tech spoke to me about it for 15 minutes, looked up his vaccines and determined he would be fine. Another time I asked if I should visit because Maverick was limping. I Already had a checkup scheduled for a few days from them and so the tech told me to just wait and they would look at it then. If they really wanted money they would have got me to come down all these times or charged me for their time. I also love that they call to check up on Maverick. One time I had to take MAv to the emergency room because it was late at night. The next morning this hospital actually got his records and then called me to make sure he is ok. I have been really happy and would recommend this vet to everyone.

Not only is Timpanogos Animal Hospital way overpriced, the staff has no idea what they are doing. Im willing to pay for good vet care, but every staff member insists on different policies. The first girl I talked to even said to me "well I cant promise the morning receptionist will say the same thing." I call ahead every time I take my dog in for daycare or boarding which is at least twice a week to make sure he is up to date and ok to come in. He has been there many times and the boarding staff know and love him. Several times we have arrived after calling ahead and double checking he would be ok to stay only to have them refuse to take him unless they update something. Like a monthly deworming. In October. In Utah. When theyve never insisted on doing it before now. Ive frequently had things added to my bill without telling me. Like $30+ medication for loose stools that were already resolving or a $5 medication administration fee when they decided to start him on that medication while he was at day care without asking me. They total bill his first day of day care was around $200 for the medication and because they insisted the vet see him since he had never been in before. Never mind that hes a puppy and had seen 2 other vets in the last two months and I had those clean bills of health with me. I had them clip his nails once. It took less than 2 minutes and they charged me $21 for it. We had his vaccines done there which are also very over priced. We gave in because they wouldnt accept his vaccine record because it was "hand written" and they wanted a "print out" proof of vaccination. Funny, because a written vaccination record is good enough for humans. When I question anything, its answered with a condescending and unhelpful something like "we just have to." Its too bad because Timanogos animal hospital is a nice facility and very close to my house. But I cant deal with ambiguous "policies" that seem to emerge out of nowhere and cost me money and may or may not be enforced depending on what receptionist is working that day. Better communication and staff training would go a long way.
