I called for my dog to have surgery for cataracts and my dog is diabetic I spoke with a women and told her I was trying to care for my animal and would like to know the cost and the success rate in surgery she was very smerky to let me know she was the only ophthalmologist in Utah because the other one had retired in January and the other clinic had been searching for one but had not located one so they are the only clinic in Utah that could care for my animal if I wanted to move forward I asked the price and like a car salesman she replied it would be a mear 5,000 to 6000 dollars I said do you have payment options she stated if you can qualify care credit or a line a credit on your home. I asked if she would secure payment with a debit card over a few weeks she stated no I asked her do you not care if the animals are well or its all about making 5000-6000 dollars per eye. She stated they were the only ones that performed this surgery in Utah and I can pay the amount or let my animal suffer. Please dont take this wrong I love my animal a great deal but were would I get 5-12 thousand dollars for eye surgery for my dog who is like my child to me. What is wrong with people they have lost the compassion and care for people and animals and now care only about money. I would rate care for you animal not considered by this Dr. however if you take a line credit out on your home she will speak very kind to you and do surgery on your animal. I am saddened I had choose not to get the care for my dog because I do not have the option she wants for the cost. I feel bad for anyone she places in this position because I truly love my animal.

My service dog, Sparks McGee, has an eye condition that we treat with medication and needs to be checked out regularly with a specialist. These doctors are fantastic. They are so kind and patient to my dog (and myself!). They are very thorough and incredibly knowledgeable. They make sure Sparks is healthy and comfortable whether "on the job" or off. Also, while specialized veterinary services is far from cheap, they are very helpful and understanding with the cost. They constantly look for less expensive sources of his prescriptions and give us office samples when possible. Their offices are always clean and comfortable. They allow me to hold or comfort him while doing uncomfortable tests (like sticking those litmus paper things in his eyes. Sparks is an AWESOMESAUCE dog and good as gold for the vet, but that one seems pretty painful.). There is a lot that they do just to make things easier... the scale is on the floor, so they dont have to lift the pet up to weigh them, the waiting room is very spacious, so even if your dog isnt good with other pets, you have space. They have paper water bowls for the pets, and coffee, tea, cider, hot cocoa, etc. for the humans. They know what they are doing. They have made news performing amazing surgeries on animals, and are the specialist the Hogle Zoo uses. If you need a good eye doctor for a pet, the drive is worth it. I wouldnt go anywhere else, even though it means battling traffic from Orem. Excellent practice.

In the past visits I have been fine until June 26th. I brought my pet Al for his yearly eye examination. Dr McLaren said he may have a eye infection, she said need to swab / culture it to see what kind of bacteria. When I went to pay for this, total was $382.00. I was told $ 180 was for swab / culture. I was upset that I was NOT told about the price before swab was done. I am disappointed and angry that Animal Eye Clinic just assumes that I have this money. What if I did not have this amount to pay and needed to pay for rent and food. It would be nice if I was told about the price and Not be surprised,

During our follow-up visit the doctor told my husband and I needed to show our puppy "whose the boss" and gave no positive suggestions to help apply ointment to her wound. She continued to tell us because we struggled to apply it that she needed a follow up culture and possibly more antibiotics even though the sore was clearly healing well. After over $200 for our follow-up and must have culture, today I received a call saying the culture was negative and she would be fine. Should have stuck with my gut and walked out when the doctor said I needed to show her "whose boss".

We took Moqui in at about 11 months old. Our "regular" vet thought he had an eye infection and had ruled out trauma or damage to the eye. After our visit with Eye Care for Animals we discovered that he had juvenile cataracts and was started on medication to reduce the pain and inflammation. Whereas our Regular Vet wasnt sure and said we could "try" antibiotics... This is why you go to specialists for your children with two legs or even the ones with four.

I cant say enough good about this place. I want to give a shout out to Doctors McDonald and Knollinger and their staff. They are fantastic surgeons and people. They are proof to me that there is still good in the world. I felt that they not only gave fantastic care to my dog they also went above and beyond what I would expect and took care of me when I needed it. Thank you to everyone who has been a part of our care. Nala and I are very grateful.

67$ just to take my dogs blood pressure, f*** I can take it faster than that for free. They are very misleading about what tests the dog needs and they charge way too much for anything that needs to be done. The nurse asked if the assistant wanted to explain to us what was going on. I said hell no I want to speak the freaking paid professional

My vet recommended I go here for an eye issue on my dog. However after reading all of the reviews, NO THANK YOU. I trust my vet more and it will not cost an arm and a leg.Why do specialists have to be so greedy?

Our cats eye was punctured in a fight we think. Dr McLaren really took the time to sit and explain our options. They supported our decision and were positive and very helpful and considerate of us.
