I was very worried about one of my labs and it was Friday and I did not want to have to go to the emergency Vet. over the weekend I called Carpenter-Pope told them what was going on and I was told to come right in even though I had neve taken my dogs there before. I found the staff to be very friendly and helpfull. The doctor was amazing. She listen to what I said about what was going on and then told me it could be bronchitis but there were no signs of infection and gave me medication for the dogs cough. Then the dog did start showing signs of an infection so I got antibotics. I really liked the doctors common sense approach and felt like she had a lot of experience and good insight as to what was needed to treat the dog. I am very happy with this veterinary Hospital and will be using them for all my dogs. Down to earth approach and reasonably priced.

I moved to the area from out of state and had a difficult time finding a veterinarian office I liked and trusted. I wish I had gone to Carpenter Pope from the start! I have seen Dr. Walker and Dr. Cleland and have always had a great experience with both. The whole staff is always friendly and seems to genuinely enjoying helping animals. The prices are also the fairest I have found in the area. I highly recommend this veterinary clinic.

Recently moved to VA and simply went to the closest vet. This is the best place Ive ever been, they understand that pets are apart of the family and do everything in their power to help all while informing you on exactly what theyre doing and why. The prices are excellent. My cat was extremely sick and they managed to nourish him back to good health WITH OUT breaking the bank. Will continue to go to them as long as Im in VA!

I see that there is one really bad review on this page and I find it odd. This vets office is great. The staff is all very kind and caring and the prices are excellent. Whenever I have an appointment there, the service is very fast. I never feel like I have to sit and wait for a long period of time. I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a new vet!

Our visit here was such a disaster from beginning to end, I have no idea how they stay in business. The service was borderline hostile, they added on additional services that were not required and endangered my pet to simply price gouge. I have since contacted the local animal control to report their abuses, and will follow up with a complaint with the magistrate.

They suck.Vet told me to bring my 16 year old bf in to euthanize her and go get another puppy immediately. Really?Was said in a very non caring way. My girl is not as bad off as they suggested Of course they had no problem with taking a "ton" of money from me The place is filthy Was asked to do survey,so there you go. Would not recommend to ANYONE

When we first went I wasn’t sure about the clinic. It was small and in an odd location… I couldn’t have been more wrong! The staff is great! They remember us and everything about our puppies when we come in. They are very helpful, and even on short notice are always trying to help! I couldn’t be more happy with our vet.

Carpenter -pope has been my vet since 1980, 2 Chow Chows, 2 labs, a Cocker Spaniel and 2 more labs currently. Very compassionate when it was time to send the first 2 labs over the rainbow bridge. Everyone working there truly love the animals. Wonderful Doctors! I would not go anywhere else!

The vet is very friendly and was good with my big ole german shepherd. Its fairly expensive but they give you a list of options with different prices before they do anything. They explain the prices of the products they sell prior to getting to the register.
