For many people there is nothing more frightening than a dental visit. I was definitely one of those people. Although, I always would do what I had to and go, it gave me anxiety beyond measure. Until, I met Dr. Ansari and her team at Lowes Island Dentistry. I unfortunately always had issues with my oral health. As a kid, although I was never into sweets or candy, I managed to show up at each checkup, with a newly formed cavity. As an early adult, in my college years, I became obsessed with taking care of my teeth. However, genetics soon began to take over and the major work began. By age 21 I just knew I was on a fast track to early dentures!!! Nonetheless, I did what was necessary, endured the discomfort and pain and proceeded with the necessary dental work when needed. In my last 30s, after having my two children, I continued to see a decline in my oral health and managed to completely lose a tooth, during the end of my last pregnancy. How could I be 36 and already missing teeth??? I floss, twice a day!!! Then due to the tremendous opportunity of competing for and winning the 2016 title of Mrs. DC America, I was blessed to meet Dr. Uzma Ansari and her beautiful staff. From my first visit I felt at ease and my anxiety was nearly non existent. This was the most comprehensive dental appointment I ever had. I left from my initial consult feeling informed, comfortable but most of all empowered to take control over my oral health and finally have the truly amazing smile Im now wearing proudly everyday. She took the time to make an attainable treatment plan for me, so I always knew what treatment I was due for next and when. As well as making sure I had all insurance and tretment information at hand; especially regarding associated and predicted costs. My confidence has sored and Im not even done!! Im so excited for my next visit... Wait did I just say that? They are truly the best and now our entire family are patients. Even our toddler, who recently had his first, official visit to the dentist. I cant say enough, nor can I stop smiling! Thank you Dr. Ansari & Lowes Island Dentistry! Dr. Ansari and her staff are simply amazing! They are prompt, professional and very friendly. I went in for an annual check up and discussed my concern with my front tooth that was shifting out of alignment. For years this had caused me a lot of anxiety and I always hated how it showed up in photos. Previous dentists explained the only option was either braces or invisalign. I had already had 2 rounds of braces as a child and invisalign in college. All of my other teeth were straight except for this front tooth. The options would cost another $5000 - $10,000 and it just didnt seem like solution that would guarantee results. Dr. Ansari was the first dentist to present the option of putting a cap on this tooth. I was hesitant at first but she explained everything to me and was confident this simple fix would give the best results. I am so glad I listened to her because it was instant results! Most of it was covered by insurance and out of pocket only costs me $500 (I had another cap done on a back tooth as well). Not only was she able to provide a solution that provided instant results and minimal costs, she was a perfectionist about matching the color. Many of her staff members who have worked on my teeth dont realize its not a real tooth until they see an x-ray. Stop looking for a dentist and make an appointment. I still go to her even though I moved to MD and recommend her to all of my friends & coworkers. Thank you Lowes Island Dentistry & Dr. Ansari!

Dr. Ansari is a phenomenal dentist! My experiences there have been absolutely amazing! Dr. Ansari and her staff are so nurturing and understanding! Every time a procedure is performed Dr. Ansari always explains the operation either in the chair or before its started. Lowes Island Dentistry also has a treasure chest for kids to choose a prize. That just goes to prove that Dr. Ansari provides not only a loving but family-friendly environment. Dr. Ansari and her team are also very involved. Dr. Ansari answers phone calls even after the office is closed. If you are in an emergency situation, Dr. Ansari and one of her assistants will see you after hours or even on the weekends! Lowes Island Dentistry conveniently located near Food Lion, Dunkin Donuts, Subway, and even a frozen yogurt shop! Dr. Ansari also understands if you are sensitive or afraid. Dr. Ansari keeps in mind that everyone has a different level of pain tolerance. Dr. Ansari will always ask you if you are comfortable with the procedure. If you arent, she will get you numb in a jiffy whether it is just the regular numbing substance or nitrous gas(laughy gas). In conclusion, Lowes Island Dentistry is loving, family-friendly, understanding, and considerate.

Shout Out For Internal Whitening! I noticed some discoloration in one of my bottom front teeth. Turns out, an ill fated head butt by one of my young children caused some trauma that effectively killed the nerve in my tooth, resulting in the dreaded root-canal. Dr. Ansari and her staff did a tremendous job of explaining the issue, going over the necessary dental procedures, calming my nerves, and discussing my options. One of the choices I had to make was whether to finalize the procedure with a crown or pursue internal bleaching or whitening. Given my age (mid 30s) and considering that I did not have any other existing dental work, I decided to go with the Internal Whitening option, and Im glad I did! This process essentially bleached my tooth from the inside to match the color of the rest of my teeth. The process took few quick (10 minute) follow-up visits until the color was an identical match. If you didnt know I had a procedure done, you would not know by looking at my teeth. I would strongly recommend the internal whitening option if anyone is faced with a similar situation. Thanks again Dr. Ansari for the great work!!!

Dr. Hahn and his wonderful staff have been nothing but warm, kind, courteous and caring. From the moment you walk in the door to the second you lay back in the chair, you know you are going to be well cared for. Dr. Hahn and his amazing hygenists patiently listen to my every concern and reassure me with a wealth of knowledge. They are never pushy when it comes to new treatments that might be costly. They have always let me make an informed decision on my own but I know that whatever they might recommend for me, must be for my overall health. Dr. Hahn and his staff make every patient feel like an indivdual and not just another file. The front desk is always extremely accommodating when it comes to making appointments and payments. I am very happy to have found such a fantastic dentist!

Dr. Ansari is an amazing dentist! On my first visit, she took a complete inventory of my teeth, indcluding Xrays and Photos. She explained to me in minute detail the health of my teeth. I had been seeing the same dentist for 20 years and he never gave me the information that Dr. Ansari did. She opened my eyes to ways I can help promote better dental health. I then went in for four crowns and a filling. The staff are so friendly and caring. They did everything in their power to make me comfortable and less stressed over the procedure. I am confident that Dr. Ansari will help me get my dental health into good shape. She loves information and will share that with you in a calm and gentle manner. She is my dentist for life!
