I thought that I was taking a risk going to My Pets Vet because of how inexpensive they are. Come to find out, Banfield, a supposedly repected hospital, is worse. I took my cat in to find out if she had a UTI since she was peeing outside her litter box. The first time I brought her in, I paid nearly $200 and was given tablets to give my cat for two weeks, twice a day. The last week of the pills, I got extremely sick and missed a day and a half of pills. The next day, I gave her two pills at once, not knowing this could cause problems. I was just told, give her two pills, twice a day. She started puking so I immediately stopped giving her the pills two at a time. When I brought her in the second time, I got a different doctor. I told her what happened and she started to belittle me and scold me for giving her two pills at a time. She talked to me like I didnt care about my pet and that I was a horrible pet owner. She then tells me that shes probably still sick and gave her a shot. I wondered.... Whats the shot for? Apparently, its the exact same thing as the pills, it just needs to be administered once. I WAS NOT given this option this first time. Who on EARTH would choose giving pills to your cat over a shot?! I called today to tell them that I didnt want to pay for the third visit, which would cost me another $100 dollars at least. They simply told me that theyre sorry and theres nothing they could do about it. I will never go back to them. Ive never had such a horrible experience in my life with a vet. They are constantly trying to work as much money out of you at a time. DO NOT GO HERE, THEY WILL ROB YOUR WALLET FOR UNNECESSARY THINGS.

I noticed the other reviews were all pretty old, so I wanted to share my experience. Worst vet experience(S) ever! Bought into the wellness plan, which is not horrible as I did get dental cleaning, but originally had taken him in for a puncture in his foot that was infected and he was chewing it raw. Did some tests, nothing definitive, meds and more money. Did an X-Ray - meds and more money, no one called about it so never heard anything until I took him back in... Nothing definitive - lets refer it to another doctor. NO FOLLOW UP at all. In fact I had to ASK THEM about the last test. Several weeks gone by now and it is not healing. Well lets do a Biopsy. Wait, what about the referral of the other vet, Oh we did not see anything. I gave up at that point. I was over $1100 into this mess an NO results, just anti-biotics that worked until he started chewing at it again after the cone of shame came off. EVERY time I went there, it was no less than a 30 minute wait. I came SO close to walking out, but I already had major dollars invested and he needed help. NEVER Saw the same vet either. 3 visits, three different vets and had to start over every time to explain what was happening with my dog. I finally just gave up completely on this clinic. The wound eventually healed (after a long stint with a cone collar), but no need to knock him out, cut open his foot, spend over $700 MORE for this procedure which would have come back - Nothing Definitive. What a joke. Save yourself some money and grief as they are probably the most poorly run organization I have been too.

My cat had an eye infection which looked painful so I broght her to the nearest vet I knew of. I was told the initial physical exam would be about $40, and a diagnosis would be made from that. I was also expecting to have to pay for any medications my cat would need. I felt as though the doctor and the assistant were trying to sell me something from the minute I walked in. First it was the wellness plan that Banfield offers. When the doctor saw my cat, she offered some pain relief meds which require some tests to see if the kitty is strong enough to handle them. They also wanted to do full bloodwork on her. I suspected that I was being ripped off but decided to go along with it since it was getting late and I thought my cat was in pain. I felt like they were business people out to make a profit, more than I felt like they were veterinarians who wanted to help animals. When I left the office I paid about $260... not to mention I got the idea at the end of all this the doctor handt pinpointed exactly what was wrong with my cats eye. She sent me home with some pain relief meds and eye ointment to administer at home. The staff was friendly enough, thats why Banfield gets 2 stars instead of 1.

I would give a Zero feedback if I could. I bought my pet in to check his right legs. They diagnosed him to arthritics. They asked to take x-ray which will cost $400. I am not aware of other places so I almost took an x-ray for my dog. I had to make sure with other place and just to check x-ray cost. They dont see any of arthritics symptoms at all. I couldnt believe it so I went to another place. They also see Ban Field misdiagnosed. I always hear peoples bad feedback about Ban Field but it comes to us from this incident. Most of vets cost you around $200 for x-ray. So be aware of this place where you could bring your pet to death. Another thing is that Ban Field has no idea or even no qualified doctors who can give you the right medicines. 200% chances are that they give you or attempt to sell you a product to make a profit without consideration of your dogs allergic condition. They should not sell products which could bring a horrible allergy to your dog, that is non-refundable. I get that medication is not usually refundable but they should not sell those without taking a 10 seconds look on each charts. They will stiffen your pets body. be careful.

I almost didnt take my dog here because of the many negative reviews, but its so close by and they were able to squeeze us in for a same-day emergency appointment when my regular vet wasnt able to see us for another few days. Im so glad I did! They got us in a room immediately and started running the fecal test right away. The vet, Dr. Hollan, saw us immediately and took her time with my dog who doesnt like strangers. She was very friendly, thorough, and knowledgeable. The vet tech was also great. Even though they were very busy (it was a Saturday afternoon and they squeezed us in between other appointments) they were able to pinpoint exactly what was wrong with my dog and get us a couple prescriptions and get us out of there in only about an hour. Also, our visit wasnt even remotely as pricy as I had anticipated. Great experience as far as vet visits go. Just felt inspired to write this review for anyone who is on the fence about coming to this vet because of all the negative reviews, most of which look to be at least a few years old.
