My husband was driving to work on Thursday morning and the kid in front of him hit a small dog that ran out in front of him and then took off. My husband stopped and picked up this poor animal and put it in his car and tried to find help for him. The dog was badly injured and was bleeding and wimpering. Obviously he was in pain. We went to Jones, who has been our vet for over 3 years. I met my husband there who was walking out in tears when I arrived and told me that they were too busy to look at a suffering animal. I walked in and talked to the girls at the front desk and begged them to look at this animal to see if there was any hope or if they could help with his pain. I offered to cover all costs involved. I was also told that the did not have time.... We finally got to the emergency vet in town and by that time the dog was too far gone. the vet told us he would have to be put down. If Jones would have had any compassion for animals they would have taken 5 minutes to look at this dog to see if they could help him. Instead they let him suffer for another 30 minutes while we tried to locate help for him. They are cruel and insensative and should not be in the pet care business because clearly they do not care about helping animlas. I will NEVER set foot in this horrible vet office ever again! The souless front desk girls should be fired!

Ive been with these guys since I owned my first cat: xander. If you want your information sugar coated or you want your vet to take their cues from you instead of giving you options, go someplace else. These guys are the real deal. A small practice, true, but they remember the name of the cat I have now, and dont call my cat by the one I had 10 years ago. (petmed) The last time I was there was to euthanize Squeek. She had a huge tumor in her mouth. I couldnt believe I hadnt seen it! It was much too large to operate. Even I could tell that. Their first response after telling me the horrid news was, "What would you like us to do, Susan?" I got to make the decision, and that was right. I decided to let her go. She was 18 years old. I wish I had had a camera for that last look. Squeek was Sphinx with her paws folded. So at home. Thats what Jones does. The pets feel at home. PS: Alison, the guy with the bad bedside manner with humans is wonderful with the pets. Thanks your lucky stars.

Its not the fanciest clinic around--and yes, its a bit worn. But I have found the desk staff and the techs to be very kind and helpful. Ive seen some vets whose bedside manner with the *people* could maybe use a bit more warmth--very clinical, maybe lacking in some compassion--but thats not really the issue when I take my pets in for care, and Ive found the vets to be very caring with the animals. Ive found them to be competent and very reasonably priced, compared to the "upscale" fancy places that are always pushing more tests, more specialty items, etc. So if you need a lot of (human) hand-holding, this may not be the best choice, but if you want a reasonable approach without all the fancy add-ons, or for basic care, I think they do a good job (and make it possible for those with limited finances to care for their pets--thats a good thing).

SICK IGUANA I wish I could give them no stars! Several years ago I had a very sick Iguana who I took to Jones vet who then had me force fluids down him with a turkey baster which was making him sicker. I then ended up at the emergency vet in Tacoma who said that he his Kidneys were failing and I was torturing him while doing what I was doing. I ended up having to put him to sleep and since then have never brought another pet to Jones. They might know how to deal with simple pets but they should stick to them and not exotics. They dont know what theyre doing and please, if you have a lizard take it somewhere else! Im still sick about what happened and will never get over it!

After reading some reviews here, I was worried about bringing my cat in. A friend recommended me, and swore that she had a wonderful experience with getting her kitten fixed. The vets and staff were very helpful and understanding when I explained that I did not have any vaccination records from my cats former home. They helped me with every question that I had, and put me at ease. The waiting room was small, but since I had an appointment I only had a wait about 3-5 minutes. I will be going back to get my Allie spayed next week and I look forward to going back with my other cats.

We have taken our dog here since we adopted her as a baby to the pound. Have tried other vets closer to our homes and always returned to Jones. There was only one time my daughter took our dog in and it sounded like the vet was not very friendly. But, I was not there and I dont think that vet is with them anymore. We have been treated well by the staff and they have been really sweet to our dog who has even had accidents in there waiting room! We are going to have to put her down soon and would not think of taking her anywhere but Jones. Rosana

I was absolutely appalled at the attitude of the front receptionist at this Hospital. The nurses were very sweet, but Aimees treatment of customers made me embarrassed for the staff at this hospital. I sat in the waiting room and watched her be extremely rude to 4 other customers who came in. She snapped at the nurses and was condescending. If this is how Jones wants their business represented, then I imagine they will lose a lot of clients having someone of Aimees rudeness level running the front.

I have taken my 2 dogs here for 5 years and after today and the lack of help when my dog is bleeding from large wound he got in the back yard from a nail... no compassion for the suffering animal, no understanding that i JUST made my house payment and paid my ER bill of 1k from a week prior. 5 years of supporting a business that dont give a hoot.. Find another vet! The 24 vet on 56th is better for the people who cant pay 800 dollars up front for the pet they love when things happen...

Yes its small and quaint, I had wonderful help making an appointment. ..great rates and really thorough exams. I took my two female rabbits a rex/lopsy and a blue beveren to be spayed and they were treated excellent. Both my girls were good and their surgery went great. The team really loves on them and made them comfortable and I was kept informed. They even called the following day to check in on them. I would recommend this place.
