I gave birth to my first baby at the Hudson Hospital a month ago today... I was originally planning on delivering at Health Foundations in St. Paul (a free-standing birth center) but I had to transfer to a hospital around 32 weeks due to developing preeclampsia. I started seeing Dr. Alyssa Lynch who immediately made me feel comfortable- she talks quickly and is very energetic but also soothing and virtually impossible to alarm. At 36 weeks my preeclampsia became much more severe and I needed to deliver my daughter quickly. Dr. Lynch was a saint for calming the nerves of a first time mom and making me feel like we would be able to handle anything that came our way- she made me feel like there was nothing to worry about and everything would be fine. The labor was very difficult and long (about 28 hours) but I never felt rushed or pressured, the entire staff was very respectful of my wishes to deliver naturally and they worked with me to make that possible. As a person who was very intent on having a natural delivery/experience, I was very weary of giving birth in a hospital environment but now I would not have had it any other way. I felt very safe and comfortable at the hospital. The nurses were incredible, each one of them unique with her own set of gifts and outstanding qualities. I spent 7 days at the hospital in total so I got to know a lot of the nurses and I have thought of many of them every day since I had my daughter. They were so complimentary and sincere, they gave me so much confidence and strength during the days I spent with them; their kind words will never leave my memory. I was very hesitant about having my baby in a hospital setting but Hudson Hospital ended up being the best choice for us- I am so thankful to have had the experience that we did!

I went to the Hudson ER with terrible pain in my abdomen. After an evaluation which didnt include any tests I was advised that I had an inflamed bladder and sent home. I was then told to come back if the pain continues. I sat at home for a couple days and went to an urgent care Two days later. The urgent care (URgency Room) actually completed tests and advised me that I had a ruptured appendix. After surgery, which took place the same day, I sat at United Hospital in St Paul for 6 days because there was an enormous amount of infection in my stomach cavity from waiting for the supposed inflamed bladder to get better. I was billed for the ER visit. I called and had a civil conversation to advise that the doctor completely missed the boat on his diagnosis and asked if anything could be done. And as you may guess the answer was NO. The reason they wouldnt consider anything is because they gave me the disclaimer to come back if it continues. I would never encourage anyone to go to Hudson Hospital, but instead go to the Urgency Room or United Hospital. The only plus side at Hudson was that the nurse was very nice.

I think its interesting how people feel empowered by writing negative reviews, complaining instead of simply offering suggested solutions, or choosing to rant rather than take their situation to someone within the organization who can truly affect change. Hurt people hurt people. I have doctored extensively over the years at many hospitals & clinics & intensely at Rochester Mayo. I recently moved to Hudson & have had multiple experiences at the Hudson Clinic all of which have been absolutely stellar. From initial phone calls & paperwork by accommodating receptionists, friendly & helpful nurses to competent doctor care. I love the aesthetics, the location & amenities. I think people need to be more aware of the amazing medical world & the fortunate, wonderful care found at Hudson Hospital & Clinic. I am grateful for my very positive experiences.

I fell backwards on a bed of crushed rock in my yard. Two days later I went into the Hudson Hospital ER suffering from severe spasms in my lower back. The pain was a 10 on the pain scale (maximum) at times forcing me to my hands and knees. I am on a pain relief regimen for chronic pain, have been for 10 years. The dr. told me how he was familiar with addictions and refused to help. After my wife, a Registered Nurse, intervened, he gave me a shot of an anti-inflammatory--no x-rays, MRI, or other imaging--nothing other than a perfunctory inspection!! The following day I went to a real doctor. I was x-rayed and found to have a fractured L5 vertabrae which, of course, was causing the spasms. I dont remember the Hudson dr.s name. Maybe he was a proctologist. If he isnt he should be.

This hospital recently changed its policy regarding vbacs. As of August 31, 2014, they will no longer allow mothers with a C-section to attempt a vbac. I was a patient planning on delivering at Hudson Hospital and was given notice that I was not able to seek care there anymore. I am 8 months pregnant and having to find a new hospital and a new provider. This is every pregnant womans nightmare- having to change providers after months of establishing a relationship. I find it incredibly alarming that an establishment claiming to have a persons health and well-being in mind would have no issue turning myself and the other moms away from their care with a letter and 30 days notice.

Went in and I had such a bad experience with one of the nurses, she was so nasty, ask me why I came back when I left earlier after being treated for kidney stone pain. Then I told the nurse that I thought she had an attitude and we had communication problems. I didnt want her back. I was then virtually ignored and If it hadnt been for Dr that came out and talked me into staying, I would have left untreated. When I went to my urologist I found out I needed surgery! Really think I would rather drive to Lakeview then go back but it puts you in a little bit the position since its so close to my house. I just hope they make some good changes!

Doctors and nurses were terrific !! Billing office TERRIBLE. My wife had to have an emergency surgery. Afterwards they refused to see my 4 month old daughter with a high fever because of a past due account (was told this in the lobby my the admissions clerk). We had offered to make payments of around 100 a month but they insisted on over 400 (total bill owed was around 2500, and yes we have insurance). Was sent to a collection company who WAS willing to take payments of 100 a month. Really sad. We really liked the staff there but their billing office and practices are terrible and uncaring.

Your Patients Rights and Responsibilities policy states: All patients have the right to be informed concerning their continuing health care needs, course of treatment, prognosis for recovery, and alternatives to meet these needs in terms the patient can understand. Any patient may refuse treatment to the extent permitted by law and is informed of the medical consequences of the refusal. But you will not allow women to refuse a cesarean delivery in the case of breech presentation? How is this congruent with your above promises?

I am from out of state visiting for the holidays and had sever flu coughing fever etc. Their emergency room staff was super friendly and efficient and took me right in. The level of care I received was outstanding and everyone was so nice and kind. They ran several tests and each person that came to help me, treated me with such kindness. I dont remember having such a good experience at a hospital while feeling so bad. It is a beautiful hospital. I dont know why it want to post me as Sheila Towle but my name is Valerie Gatto.
