When we got our rescue pup we did our research and decided to try One Love and we are so glad that we did. It was our first time at a vet so we didnt have much to compare it too but we fell in love with Dr. Ryan - she really seemed to pay attention and listen to our skittish puppy, always patient, never pushing or seeming too busy to slow down and take the time to figure out how our pup needed to be treated to get the job done while still being comfortable. Our dog fell in love with her too and has always been happy to see Dr. Ryan again, despite that inevitable fact that she decided she didnt like vet visits in general. We have since had other vet experiences while traveling and I can tell you that Dr. Ryan is a very special person - I have yet to come across ANY vet or assistant vet who seems to genuinely care and connect with animals as much as Dr. Ryan. Other pet owners who are crazy about their animals will know how invaluable that is. And dont worry - Dr. Ryan is super knowledgeable and up on both alternative and conventional treatments (never pushing either, by the way, which we really appreciated) and the rest of the staff at One Love are all great too! All around, we feel so lucky to have such great care for our dog.

One Love is the best! Three years ago, one Love squeezed me in as a new client on New Years Eve when my cat developed an acute sinus infection. Dr. Humphries and all of the staff were very sweet with my cat, listened to my concerns, didnt treat me as if I knew nothing about my cats health, and in every way were fantastic. This was a walk-in, and I was still charged less than the quoted fee. (Under the circumstances, even that fee would have been reasonable to me.) Dr. Humphries shares my attitude as far as conservative treatment with common sense goes, rather than stuffing a lot of potentially unnecessary medications into my cat, or pursuing tests that dont seem necessary. I also appreciate the clinics positive attitude toward homeopathic and natural remedies. In the years since theyve treated my cat for an inner-ear infection, a recurrent UTI that turned out to be bladder stones (which required surgery), and sporadic respiratory problems. (Yes, my cat is a money-pit.) He and I have had great experiences with all three vets - Dr. Ryan treated him for the bladder stones - and I especially like Dr. Humphries, who seems very "tuned-in" to cats and their people.

We ended up going to One Love even though it was a drive away. Our standard Poodle started get sick at 6 months old and it turns out Dr. Ryan Saved our dogs life! She is an incredibly compassionate and dedicated Vet and she figured out from the chronic symptoms that he needed to see a specialist. After almost a year of Dr RYans patience and diligence and the referral she gave us for the treatment of our dermatologist/specialist, we discovered our dog is highly allergic to almost everything. environmentally and food. Dr Ryan helped us with our mini poodle who is mentally disturbed. Id have liked her to agree to the prozac sooner, but she was nervous about administering prozac and since the Composure was not nearly enough to reduce his possessive aggressive behavior and anxiety, she finally prescribed the prozac and a yr and a half later, hes a new dog!! Dr. Ryan loves her patients and has a rare quality to engage fur baby parents in a fun and kind manner. Dr. Ryan rules! I highly recommend this Clinic. The only drawback is theyre not cheap. More expensive than some Clinics same as some others.

I began taking my senior dog to One Love Animal Hospital after moving to the neighborhood in 2011, and wish I had been taking her there the entire time we had been living in Brooklyn. All of the staff are kind, patient and helpful, especially the doctors. My pooch and I had the opportunity to visit with pretty much all of the doctors on staff over the course of a few years. The appointments were always on time, the service helpful and efficient, and I could tell right away the vets really cared about their patients. When the unfortunate time came to say goodbye to my 16 1/2 year old Lucy, Drs. Lischin, Ryan and Longo all gave me the best, most caring advice on how to handle the extremely sad situation and in the days following, I received not one but two separate phone calls from them, just checking in to see how I was doing. Their kindness and expertise were an extreme comfort to me and I remain so grateful for that! If I ever get another dog, I will definitely be coming back to One Love, and highly recommend them to all Brooklyn pet owners and animal lovers in general.

I am so grateful I found this place! They saw me for an emergency appointment within 2 hours of my call (Id never even been there before), they told me up front what the emergency exam fee was, I waited no more than 5 minutes after completing my paperwork, and they could not have been sweeter. A lot of places are staffed with kind people, but what I really appreciated about this place was that they were very upfront about what was nice-to-have vs. need-to-have, the vet was obviously thoughtful about which tests/procedures would be the most key and which could wait, and I did not feel AT ALL like they were judging my choices or pushing me to do anything just so they could charge more for it. I dont have pet insurance, money has to be a consideration (they were very understanding of this), and my little guy got great care without leaving me feeling taken advantage of. When I saw the bill I felt RELIEVED, which is by no means usually the case. These people are angels and I will be coming here from now on.

My first visit to One Love was great - I felt like the doctor was taking care of us and I felt like we had found our new vet. However, thanks to an emergency situation with my dog, I immediately switched vets because they could not be competent enough to return a phone call. My dog swallowed some medicine and had to be put on IVs and stay in a hospital for two nights. On the first day, I wanted to get a second opinion and talk to my vet. After calling once in the morning, waiting until 4 p.m. without a call back, I called again. I was told the vet was in surgery but would return my call after that. I called again at 6 p.m. and was promised shed return my call before the end of the day. Guess what? No call. So Im left worrying all night while my dog is in the hospital (getting great care from Blue Pearl in Brooklyn but still I wanted to talk to a vet!). If they cant be bothered to return a phone call during an emergency situation, I cant trust them at all.

These guys are absolutely wonderful. They are super professional and thorough, and I could tell that they truly cared for their patients. Along with the professionalism there is a no-stress, almost playful vibe to the place. Wed adopted our cat through Sean Casey Animal Rescue and snagged a free exam with One Love as a result. I was just going to do the one freebie and get everything else done at a vet closer to us (we live in downtown Manhattan), but they were so sweet and excellent that it just didnt make sense to go anywhere else for our preventive kitten care. So we got all the rest of her shots there as well as a round of anti- parasite treatments. I am going to do the rest of our cats vet care locally just to spare her the multiple long journeys, but if I lived in Brooklyn I would absolutely go back to these guys, and if you live anywhere near them I highly recommend that you do as well! :))
