Front desk seemed harried and unorganized. Nurse was rude and no returned call to check on me or respond when my shingles rash became more painful. She did not know the generic vs.clinical name of the medicines and when I pointed out they were the same medication, she interrupted me and the physicians assistant did not say anything. I felt rushed during my clinical time and did not see my doctor nor even was told his name, only saw the physicans assistant who underestimated how painful my shingles could get. One of my medicines were called to the wrong pharmacy. Same nurse insisted that I had picked up the medication the day before though I had not as it was at the wrong pharmacy, then said their, "Office was not a pain clinic", that was very insulting. I asked to speak to the office manager who did seem to be trying to help, and told me she would call back. She didnt, just someone who told me my medicine was ready. The only person who really helped was my own pharmacist who took charge and tracked down my medicine for me. One of the medications made me sick. My specialist told me that the medication given should have never been prescribed with my other standing medications. Very fancy office, obviously overbooked and not in touch with their patients. I had the gut feeling that the place leaned more toward money and more expensive procedures and the people that get them more than helping people with mainstream skin problems. Will not be going back and my referring physician will be notified of this office circus.

Good Morning, I have a cyst on my jaw ling (left side) and expected that it would be removed today. Darla informed me that have to go and see Dr. Randy Proffitt, MD, FACS who just happens to be a plastic surgeon. I am not in need of plastic surgery, nor am I a vain person. All I wanted was for this to be removed. I thought this was a simple request., guess that is what I get for thinking. Your business cards state that you have two board certified dermatologists whom I am sure could remove this or even Darla for that matter, since she scrapped my skull during previous visit and left with a small bandage, and it bleed for 3 days. Many years ago I had a similar, but larger cyst on my neck and was removed immediately from my doctor. It left a crater on my neck but it was not cancerous since it was sent to the pathology lab.. Needless t say I am very dis-appointed in the shabby service. Maybe if Darla would stay away from the coffee machine and take the time to explain things so and old geezer like me could better understand them. So basically I spent $30.00 co-pay and arrived 10 minutes early +/- and there were only tow patients ahead of me and a third that came in and was seen before me. Dis-appointed with your Health Care Procedures..

Firstly, I had to wait an extra 20 minutes for my appointment. However, the most annoying and insulting event of the examination came when I expressed my scar as an issue with the assistant, and she replied by asking me if I was "vain". I took that as an insult because no I AM NOT VAIN. I have had this scar for 2 years and I decided it was time to find a solution. Not only did the assistant insult me but the dermatologist too, who was an elderly man. He implied that it was all in my head and my scars wasnt actually getting any bigger. What the HELL???!! not only that, but he said went on to say that a scar was a symbol of pride and masculinity in a man... To be honest, I just wanted to slap his face and tell him I didnt come for a psychological assessment of my scar. I just wanted a solution to my scar problem.I regret paying $50 dollars when i could have paid $35 for the same bullshit. All the dermatologist did was prescribe some cream and face wash, If your a GUY and reading my review I WOULD THINK TWICE BEFORE COMING HERE. I know its relatively close to many people in mobile, but in my opinion it would be best to TRY SOMEWHERE ELSE. Im not trying to biased here, Im just giving my honest review on my experience at this dermatology centre.

Worst place ever, god forbid you have tattoos. They profile you and you are treated less than human. Ohhh and dont change insurance companies either in the middle of an important treatment, because they want to make sure they are getting paid first over the treatment you need, hippocratic oath my ass, more like hypocritical oath. Ohhh and obviously there is only ONE person in their entire staff that is trained to use the laser treatment machine for psoriasis and when they call out the staff doesnt bother to call you and let you know that your appt is canceled. Also dont recommend for any botox or fillers, when they mess it up you are expected to pay MORE to have it fixed. Once again all they care about is money money money, not the patient who is suffering and in pain!

I have used Dr Bender and Darla. Both are very professional. With Darla I feel like I get a thorough skin exam which as a redhead with a history of multiple skin cancers this is important to me. Dr Bender has injected Botox, dysport, juviderm etc in my face. He discusses options before proceeding first to be sure my needs are considered. I have never felt rushed in the office. My skin results always look and feel great and I loose a few wrinkles and years when I leave his office. As a nurse practitioner myself Im very critical of the medical practices. I would highly recommend this practice. They are very efficient, professional, and motivated to do a good job for their patients

I agree with the reviewer below. Good luck getting to see a doctor, youre lucky to see his assistant. I never saw a doctor. They were very rushed and the only prescriptions they write are for specific pharmacies which it appears they have relationships with because they gave me marketing material about said pharmacy. Regular pharmacies dont carry the prescriptions that they write. Oh, and insurance doesnt cover those prescriptions. The whole experience seemed very scripted, impersonal, and profiteered.

Advanced Dermatology is a great clinic! Dr. Bender is a phenomenal doctor and very upbeat and pleasant! I would definitely recommend this for any concerns you have on your skin or just for yearly check-ups! My nurse was very kind as well and was able to remove a small cyst with very little pain. Advanced dermatology will guarantee you accurate results with GREAT and very pleasant service all the way through. I will definitely continue to see them!

Hands down best Dr and staff around. Low wait times. Dr.Bender has fantastic bedside manner, he and his nurses are very professional and eager to help. Staff is knowledgeable of all products. The Advance Pharmacy (across hall from Dr. Office) is super convenient. You can pick up Rx on your way out and when its time for a refill you can have it mailed right to your front door. I definitely recommend Advanced Dermatology & Skin

My first visit with Dr. Benders office was a great experience. Im always a little nervous to visit a new doctor but his staff was very pleasant and accommodating. I went to him on recommendation from a friend and I would definitely pass that recommendation on to others. I appreciate them taking the time to answer all my questions and concerns while I was there. A big "thank you" to Dr. Bender and his staff!
