WORST HOSPITAL!!!! DO NOT USE ARROWHEAD!!!!I had both of my children at arrowhead and both times I had to deal with some nurse telling me when to and how to feed my new born child.. but this was not enough for me to complain. The reason I am writing a complain is because of my recent visit to Arrowhead Hospital, My husband was having trouble breathing and chest pains so we went to the ER they got us in quick and hooked him up to an ekg machine and started checking him. This is where it goes down hill.. They soon realize that he has an unusually slow heart rate so this is all they focus on at that point. He was put through stress tests, ultra sounds of his heart, more blood work, numorus ekgs and still everything besides the ekg came back normal.. they had no idea what was wrong with him. We spent three days in this hospital, and heres the kicker.. we spent an extra night in this hell hole because a nurse messed up and didnt give the doctor the results of the tests so we got to stay another night so the doctor could tell him the results in the a.m. Nurses and doctors should not be making mistakes that is how people die.. I understand mistakes happen but they happened a lot during our three days here. There was no communication between the staff we had to tell them at every meal we did not want the hospital food ( and even though we made this request in the begining they still brought him food at every meal!) Another problem we never saw the same doctor twice.. how is a doctor supposed to help a patient when he doesnt see him more than ONCE!! During our last nignt at this hospital we asked for an angieogram(sp) and we were told the job of the night doctor was to only keep my husband alive throughout the night! Could you imagine hearing this bs with your husband laying in a bed in pain and your two small children at home worried about daddy!! Unbelieveable! We ended up leaving Arrowhead (we were discharged and they did not solve any of the symptoms my husband was having) and found a cardiologist that is not affiliated with Abrazo (Arrowhead hospital) and he was able to tell us what was wrong with my husband in less than an hour!!!! NOTHING was wrong with his hear he had a virus in his chest cavity and thats why he couldnt breath and his chest hurt!!!! BUt all this worthless hospital cared about was money! If they had invested anytime into listening to us they would have known that a slow heart rate is normal in his family!! but that was none of their concern. .. worthless hospital worthless staff!! If you care about the person who needs hospital attention take them anywhere but Arrowhead Hospital.. or any other Abrazo affiliates!

Everything after check-in was wonderful. Great staff and experience for me. Dealing with staff before getting my room was RIDICULOUS. Regardless of "how busy things are," you should never let your customers see you sweat. A simple "I understand. Were getting to it ASAP." Would be appreciated rather than "its really busy right now. This is the busiest part of the day." People dont want or need to hear that immature reasoning. Be understanding. Be respectful. Theres no need to be rude or disrespectful toward patients. Dont go out of your way to do so either. To the most rude and disrespectful - the Secretary of ER (whatever your title is, quite frankly I dont care) you are the most disrespectful piece of work Ive ever come into contact with. You went above and beyond to try and ruin my day by being sarcastic and rude to me by directing me to where the ER doors were located when I wasnt even asking for help. Your sense of entitlement is proof of your arrogance. I didnt need help yet, you felt the need to give me assistance anyway - and being sarcastic as well. Why do people like you have jobs in this field? Shouldnt you be more courteous? Arent there standards you need to uphold being that you work in a hospital? There are many people out there that are unemployed and can do your job A LOT better than you can, sir. This needs to be reconsidered immediately. You dont deserve the job you have. Hopefully someone will read this and make a difference. Patients go to your establishment because they have problems and are seeking help. We dont go there to be treated the way this person treats people. Theres already enough going on and we shouldnt have to deal with these kinds of people that you hired. Maybe something you need to think about for future reference. Its a shame people like this secretary have jobs. To the rest of the staff that took care of me - THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!! Dealing with what I dealt with was well worth it! Kind, caring, understanding, and nice staff. I knew it was worth the wait. I always felt cared for and your staff made a great effort to keep me happy with my stay at Abrazo. Thank you all very much for making me feel welcome and safe.

Arrowhead is AWFUL! I delivered my son there in January and 7 hours later they realized THE EPIDURAL NEEDLES WERE STILL IN MY BACK!!!! They said, "Oh, labor and delivery should have taken those out after your c-section." I had an infection during labor so my son was in the NICU and they would not let me see my son until 7 hours after he was born. At first it was that I could see him when I had feeling back in my legs, then it changed to well we are switching nurses so we need to wait for that. Then it was well we need to change your antibiotics. Then it was well you need 4 vitals before you can go. The head NICU nurse tells me, a first time mother, "your son is the 1 in 10 babies that scare us." That is NOT something you tell a new mother and makes me feel like you dont know what you are doing. They didnt send my placenta out for testing. Our son stopped breathing and anytime the alarm went off WE HAD TO GO DOWN THE HALL TO FIND A NURSE!! That is UNACCEPTABLE! Later we witnessed our son having a seizure and HAD TO FIND THE NURSE to ask what was happening. That was the FIRST time it was documented in the paperwork we reviewed. It made me wonder if he had them before but it wasnt noticed because there wasnt a nurse around to see it. They ended up transferring him to the county hospital without consulting with me first about which hospital I wanted my son to go to. First they were going to transfer him to Phoenix Childrens hospital but then changed it at the last minute because the doctor they were talking to was at county. Thats not a good enough reason. They were ill equipped and couldnt do anything for my son. He was transferred so they could do an MRI and other tests that he could not get done at Arrowhead. I would not recommend Arrowhead to anyone. They were so unorganized and not prepared. They were not professional. My son was finally transferred to Phoenix Childrens Hospital where he later died. I will always wonder if something happened at Arrowhead to where he would be here right now if something was done differently. I will never go to Arrowhead again.
