Let me start by saying Dr. Alexander is Great... I am sure the other Physicians are talented as well, but that is where the positives end for this practice. My daughter has been a patient for over a year, my wife and i have a newborn we brough in the day after she left the hospital, at three days old. the Office staff, including the practice admisistrator refused to see my newborn without proof of insurance, even though they had proof for my one year old and verified the insurance was active through Aetna... THREE DAYS OLD and i was supposed to have gone back to work, filled out the forms (forms that require social security numbers and birth certs) to get her insurance card mailed to me, just to be admited. they told me they would only see my newborn under the understanding that i pay the bill in full and be reimbursed by insurance later. After 45 minutes in the lobby, on the phone with my HR department having them send proof that all of my children were eligible under my insurance, they finally saw my child. when i was walking back the office manager asked me if i wanted to settle up the copay... i had the carseat in my hand and my two daughters were crying from the hour wait in the waiting room (we had an appointment BY the way and none of this was mentioned in advance) so i told the woman no, i would pay them another time. Dr alexander said we needed to go ahead and schedlule a follow up appointment. My wife called the next day and they wouldnt even shedule the appointment, instead transferred my wife to the billing department to collect a $20.00 copay. they are rude and arrogant. if you value your sanity, do not bring your children here. we brought three other families with us to this practice. all three families have now left for similar treatment. its simply not worth it.

My children, 4 1/2 and 17 months, have been going to Camelback Pediatrics since they were born. Both of my children see Kristin Struble and shes a great doctor. Weve also seen Dr. Alexander on a few occassions and hes always been very helpful and is great with the kids. Unfortunatley, theres a huge problem with this practice. The person that answers the phone most of the time, Linda, is extremely rude, unhelpful and seems to be borderline uneducated on pediatric care. Im not sure what her qualifications are, but I cant think of one time she has ever been helpful and in fact, you can hardly get a word in edge wise when you call as she constantly interrupts you. Ive complained a few times to the office managers (yes, thats plural as theres been three Office Mgrs that I know of in the short amount of time weve been with them) and although they say other people have complained before, and the doctor confirmed this to me as well, they still seem to keep her on. I honestly dont care if she works there or not as she doesnt care for my children, but you cant make a call there without going through her which is very frustrating and has resulted in us no longer wanting to be a patient at that practice. Were seriously considering changing pediatricians, which is sad because the doctors are very good. But if you cant call their practice when you have a question or concern about your childs health without being disregarded or interupted by Linda (btw, you cant really ever speak to the doctors unless you go in) - and again, shes the one who always answers the phone, then its not worth the frustration. Im sure there are other great doctors in other practices.

First time I have ever written a review on the internet. Unfortunately, this review is based on a bad experience. I had taken my kids to Camelback Pediatrics before and scheduled my daughters 3 year appointment well in advance. I take time off work and take my daughter out of her preschool. When I get there, they tell me that they are unable to verify her under my husband. I explain that I have been there before and I am certain they are still under my husbands insurance. The receptionist is unapologetic and simply says I can reschedule or self-pay, which will cost me an arm and a leg. I explain that I left work but she does not care one bit. I go outside and I am easily and swiftly able to verify on the phone that my daughter is active under my husbands plan. I go back inside and explain that a simple call will verify that she is active. The receptionist refuses. Mind you, at the time when I arrived there were only two patients in the waiting room just waiting to be called. I couldnt believe it. The worst part was the receptionist "I dont care" attitude, completely unapologetic. I have already changed my medical providers. I requested my kids medical records and she says she will call me within 30 days. I am like "really?!" I have never felt so unwelcomed and warn any parents looking at Camelback Pediatrics to look elsewhere for a more family friendly place.

Skip this place. For the third time, my stepson is on his way to a second doctor just one day after leaving this place. First time was in 2009, he went in with sore throat, runny nose, and fever. The doctor sent him out with a prescription for tylenol. Three hours later he was in the ER with a peritonsillar abscess which the ER staff said should have been easily diagnosed by his primary care. Second time, later in 2009, he and his sister went in with cough, fever, sore throat and were sent out with tylenol. The next day they were both in the ER with IVs of antibiotics for pneumonia. Once again the ER staff claimed there was no reason he should have left the pediatrician w/o being diagnosed. Yesterday (early 2012) he went in with similar symptoms, and was sent home with a prescription for tea and honey. His condition worsened and he got no sleep last night and this morning one of his best friends texted him that he had been diagnosed with pneumonia (this is the friend he played with last weekend, and they had been comparing symptoms via text message all week). He and his mom are on their way to another doctor right now. From now on we are going to skip this place and go straight to somewhere else. I recommend you do the same.

Im very disappointed with this office. I have heard good things and we chose Dr. Struble after careful consideration. The first time our baby was sick was however very difficult for us. We are first time parents and as I am sure anyone who has gone through this it is a very helpless circumstance. The receptionist was rude to me and my wife and the doctor never called us back. Our baby has RSV and we were debating all day on what to do. Thats why we have a pediatrician is for them to give us their expert medical advice. They gave us no advice and worst of all made us wait all day for it. Now its past 5pm, the place is closed and we need to go to the hospital because they left us confused and anxious. I will be finding a new doctor as soon as my son is healthy.

My son has been seeing Dr. Milton K. Scharff at this practice since he was 3yrs old, my boy is now 12 years old. Dr. Scharffs very observant, yet wackily kind ... so as not to scare his little patients. When we havent been able to see him the other doctors and medical staff have all been efficient, friendly and caring. The reception/billing staff have always been responsive and very efficient whenever I called or visited. I love that there are separate well and sick child waiting areas. Sometimes you need to wait in the lobby a bit, but it is a busy practice with six doctors to choose from. My younger sister brought her three children to Dr. Scharff all the way from Buckeye, AZ. That is how good he is.
