My daughter visited the ASU clinic after symptoms began to worsen. She was currently on her second round of anabiotics for tonsillitis, otitis media, sinusitis, bronchitis, and even strep. She called and asked my opinion and I let her know that the two anabiotic she was previously given were not that effective for her when she was younger, but I did give her the name of one that had been affective for her. Lisa Eckerson, FNP was the provider that saw her at the ASU clinic. My daughter informed Lisa about her history, current medications she had been prescribed, the changes in her symptoms, and the name of an antibiotic that historically worked well for her in regards to her diagnosis. Lisa quickly dismissed the information and even rolled her eyes towards the man shadowing her. Lisa then stated it was simply seasonal allergies. I had my daughter returned to the ER she previously visited when she had begun spittting up blood. The MD on call listened to her, and ended up throwing away her current prescription and giving her a script for the antibiotic that historically worked well for her. He also gave her a steroid nasal spray. We are 3 days out and her symptoms have vastly improved. Lisa should not have been so dismissive of a patients information, especially a patient she does not see regularly. The ASU clinic is a cheaper alternative to Urgent Care and ER facilities, but my daughter will be headed there and not back to ASU Clinic.

I dont know if its because it was a Friday at 5 but thats no excuse. I was sent here from one ASU doctor to another and they made me feel like I wasnt supposed to come here since Im graduated. I told them that theyre gonna have to figure it out then because I was SPECIFICALLY TOLD to come here by my ASU doctor, DESPITE her knowing I already graduated. Why do I feel I have to defend myself as to why Im here? Then the guy goes on and says well you dont even have insurance and starts trying to tell me what the rule is about my specific insurance. I wont get into detail, but when I said they have been accepting it everywhere else, he said well maybe because youve been saying youre a student. NO I HAVENT, and if youre gonna keep accusing me of things I probably said to people, then of course Im gonna get mad. They already had me in a bad mood and in a position where I felt I needed to defend myself, so I believe he was just trying to make casual conversation about my insurance but I took it badly since I was already hostile. I am a very patient person and usually forgive a lot of customer service annoyances because they have a hard job, but dont you dare make me feel like Im wrong for being somewhere that MY DOCTOR sent me to.

Its like any doctors office, where your experience really depends on the physician youre seeing, but the majority of staff are quite knowledgable and helpful. The facility its self is clean and well run, especially considering how many students go through it every day.
